Well said Omar, reminds me of the poem "High Flight"
"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth
and danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings, sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth of sun-split clouds and done a hundred things you have not dreamed of, wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there, I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
I've topped the windswept heights with easy grace, put out my hand and touched the face of God.
Only one word to describe that Stephan: ... actually I take that back. There's tons. But I'll just go with beastly for now. :)
On a separate note, I find it inspiring to hear experienced jumpers still speaking so passionately about the sport. They talk with the enthusiasm of beginners, but in the refined, contemplated manner that can only be articulated by the experienced. Both combined is a rarity. Mastery and enthusiasm ....
"The feeling of ecstasy, the feeling of enlightenment, the feeling of going to that next level, the next step that we hear about in religion. I I could compare it and i can start to understand it because of the feeling I have when I jump".
