@thebraveengineer This locomotive was built by Bill Cochran who is no longer with us. Bill was always a strong proponent of marketing the club. He is the person who invited me out for the first time. He was always quick to offer his home machine shop to guests. We sure miss him. His son Eric is also a fine machinist, and last I knew, has a Mikado in the works. It's a steam powered pump that puts water into the boiler. When the train is moving, the axle pump will usually put enough water in. There is also the steam injector and a hand pump for emergencies. So, there are 4 ways to put water into the boiler.

Loco is Kero fired and operates at 125# steam pressure. If you like steam and don't mind getting dirty it sure is a lot of fun. If you have a live steam club in your area see if you may visit them.

This steamer runs on kerosene. You can see Eric filling up the tank at about 00:40. As far as I know, it just drips into a pan; there's no atomizer.
