  • I can watch this film over and over. Holmes, Watson, Adler --- Blackwood, et all. Ritchie did a brilliant job - can't wait for the next one. CASE REOPENED!

  • Jude's bit made the fan-girl part of my brain explode.

    <3

  • Jude's part was so brilliant XD

  • I love Jude accent!

  • I think all the hate is silly. I love Jeremy Brett and I'm a fan of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and I enjoyed this movie.

Yes, there are things about it that are grossly incongruous with the books. There are also some things that are very true to it that have been ignored in previous productions.

All I can say to the purists who are RAAAAGE-ing is: movies have been "ruining" books since the beginning of film. What are you, new?

Adaptations are ALWAYS a departure to some extent. Deal.

  • I think I love you and want to have your tolerant, logical babies.

    :'D

  • In any case, anyone who have seen Jeremy Brett`s prtrayal of Holmes like me will find it to imagine anyone else as Holmes anyway.

  • As a Holmes purist,I`m hugely offended by this movie. This movie can be enjoyed by only those people who donot have any idea of Sherlock Holmes

  • @roades45

What are you, 65 years old or 45 years old?

I know enough about Sherlock Holmes to know what it's about.

And I already knew this movie would be a bit more Hollywood-like before seeing it, but after seeing it I was satisfied by the way it's done.

    It's not a very action-packed over-the-top flick, it's actually very well done.

Not that's it's perfect and one of the super-films, but it's definitely good.

Fans of anything just can't accept any kind of change or adaptation...

  • you are damn right.i`m a holmes purist.i can`t accept misuse of sherlock holmes character.this movie can attract only those people who haven`t read the books much.

  • Why did you see it then?...

  • i don`t understand how fans can get satisfied by only a few references from the book when the central theme of the film is totally non-sherlockian.

  • i also don`t understand why stupid directors like richie has to make films on non-canonical stupid stories when there`s 60 great stories already written by the main writer.

  • by the way i`m 25 years old.don`t know why u asked that, not sure what age got to do with that.and sorry for so many messages, since they don`t fit together.

  • I was just wondering if you were some older nagging person. :P

And because of the number in your name.

But listen, I'm of your age and even though I'm not a fan of Sherlock Holmes, or even if I was, I can definitely appreciate this modern take on a classic character.

If you don't like that, watch the older films or something.

I'm not sure if those are any good, but there are over 100, so there's bound to be some good stuff.

As for this one, I think it's a nice approach even if not the same.

  • Woah, you don't have to get all offended.

And by the way, if I were a fan of the original stories, I could still be open for different adaptations.

I might not be a fan of this, but I'm not so picky of other things that I am a fan of.

Perhaps other books or comics that have been made into movies I can definitely appreciate too.

  • alright.o.k.nice,bye.

  • i agree. You liked the ones with Peter Cushing maybe? I liked that one because of Downey although it's everything BUT sherlockey.

  • Not Cushing.Jeremy Brett and only Jeremy Brett.Jeremy Brett is Sherlock Holmes-The best that ever was-the best Holmes that ever will be.

  • can't wait for this movie !!!!
