there was this very close person to me,who use to lie to me so that i wouldn't get hurt when i hear of the truth, but then when the day came he told me the truth about a couple of things... i wasn't really hurt when he told me the truth i was hurt very bad when i knew that he lied... so he should've known... we thought we knew each other very well but we didn't

I try not to lie but sometimes I put myself in the position without a way out, and then I just have to lie. Basically it's my own ignorance. The worst I did was on Sunday, I went to church and just while I was taking Communion I knew, that in an hour or so I will have to lie to my boss about something. That was the lie I will never forget.

I hought I had been more honest than I was but experimenting with Peruvian Torch exposed my lies, some so deep I did not realise I was lying to my self.

I try to be truthful, if a friend asks me if i like her dress before we go out and I do not I will say "mm... I've seen you in ones I like better" ... if you stick with this compassionate honesty you soon attract people into your life who love your honesty and respect your opinions. They trust you because they know they can count on you!

I lied to my boyfriend to check if he's faithful to me. Yet I've realized that this lie is a burden and that even if he was unfaithful, I still love him. So at the end of the day, this lie didn't give me what I wanted, and instead it became a burden. Yet I wouldn't confess it to him. Some things need to remain unspoken.

We shouldn't lie at all. Lie is dishonesty, and it doesn't lead to any good. If you don't like the dress - you should tell that. But lets not forget - important is not what you tell, but how you tell it. What are the words, what is the emotion. What are the feeling inside when you tell bad things. On the other hand - why talk about bad things when there are so meny good ones in life.

I have this really rude girl in my class. She has this tiny little thing that ticks me off and that its she likes to insult people, you know like calling some "fat" or "gay" and then she just passes it off as "being sincere". I think that if anyones fat or gay its none of her business (since shes insulted people shes not friends with), there are ways to say things but I also think that if you dont have anything to say that will help the certain individual you should keep her mouth shut.

When I lie to other people it starts a "spiral". Next time, to keep my story i need to lie again and again. And finally I myself do not know what is happened and what is not. Sometimes if we tell the thruth is the worst thing that we can do. Most people think we always need to say something in some situations, but i think if you just keep quet is the best you can do. I must add that, sometimes, even if the truth hearts, it must be said in order to correct or help someone. Other way, if you walk away & keep your mouth shut, it means you don't care at all about that individual.

I won't agree with you on this one, because the same logic can come even from politicans. If somebody tell me that my dress doesn't look nice, then i should ask my self - Is this dress really look nice or I should get my self better 1? I think that at 1st, we should be more honest with our selves and then the truth will be spread above. Also, if we can find peace of our mind, too hard that we are going to hate on anyone!!!

There are some times that even though you don't speak, you just tell the truth. It's all about body language, your tone and the vowels that you can recognise if you stare in a conversation. Most of the times I lie when I don't want to share the truth with someone -telling nothing is like lying - , or when I don't want to hurt someone. The truth always hurts and I don't think there are people that can withstand it. They just lie themselves.

I think there's ocassion where we lie, or as people say "white lies" in case of not hurting or just not having problems with others with a thought, it doesn't make it right, but I guess sometimes telling always the truth can be a bit painful or unconfortable...

What is truth? Is it not just a thought we have thought over and over again, and when enough people think the same thought over and over again we say it is the "truth". A lie, on the other hand, would be a thought that we do not think over and over again, however both are just thoughts. Therefore how can a "lie" be bad and truth be good? Both are just thoughts. Its all about perception. Example: Remember when the Earth was flat, and saying it was round would get you killed b/c it was a lie? :D

I think it's best to tell the truth. I would hate if I had the wrong preception about something and my loved ones didn't tell me because they were afraid they would hurt my feelings. in my opinion, you can only grow with the truth.

That's a tough one.

A lot of people lie because lots of reasons. I think that a lie is always bad. It's better not to say anything. I always prefer keeping myself on an extreme silence.
