Who's the accompanist, please? (Któ igrájet na rojálje, pozháluysta?) He deserves some real credit (some of the passages in the last two of those lieder are quite tricky!) as well.
Otherwise, Gospodjín Khvorostóvskiy not only has a commanding voice but what a stage presence to boot!
Dmítriy is his given name indeed. However, to go straight to 1st-name terms is a NO-NO!!!
"Gospodjín" + surname is the right form of address for a man ("Gospozhá" for a woman) when you don't know the person at all. After, when you know him (her) as a colleague or somebody older than yourself, you use the given name AND the patronymic (I don't know what was his father's given name). Using the given name - usually a diminutive thereof in fact - is done ONLY with family and close friends.
Thank you for this and all your other postings, Gabba!
Your videos really add a lot to the Dmitry Hvorostovsky offerings on YouTube. Your contributions help the viewer/listener fully appreciate the range of Dmitri's talents. Thank you, thank you!
Thank you so much for this great video of a great artist.
