  • @Paparabos1 for me it looks like Assasin's Creed symbol :3

  • @wwolf222 The Assassins' symbol was based off of the Masonic square and compass that was around hundreds of years before Assassin's Creed. ;)

  • at the top of the image, the tower on the edge of it has a Masonic symbol

  • Du wirst es wohl selbst übersetzen müssen, ich glaub nich dass der Tobi das extra für Fans auf Deutsch irgendwo gepostet hat. Oder frag doch mal beim Fanclub an, die haben bestimmt sowas.

Can anyone tell me how to get a sound like the solo-guitar at 1:30? I'm new in playing guitar, so my knowledge is not that good ;D Thanks! :)

  • @vollkp this is a FUCKING GOOD SONG ..I LOVE THIS SONG

  • @vollkp Actually, it's:

Woe to you, longing for the wisdom

Woe to you, longing for the light

All my sons, bring me back what is mine

Or you'll end burning in this night

    :)

  • Oh who cares what it is or isnt about !!...i just love the fricken song !!!

  • on the other side of life....

  • "But still I haven't found a meaning

Ana will we ever be together?"

Gives me chills. Really, this is poetry written by a God called Tobias Sammet.

  • Go all the way into the world of minds

Open the gate and do not close behind

Prevent them from hiding the light away

Prevent them from tellin' us tales

Or the end of all they scare us with will be a

    million empty brains...

  • 2:09 following.. one of the greatest song passages in metal

  • @LordPetee Amen brother!

  • you can see there at the tower at least two symbols -> snake as dolar $ and the freemasonery symbol , the song is against both what why i love it so much :)

  • @gosc789 NO, the song isnt about "freemasonery" nor something like that.

you should read the long history about the Albums: Metal Opera Part 1 and 2

Tobias Sammet Wrote a history... all the songs are telling us a part of the story.

The story is about an spiritual world which involves alot of characters... each character is a musician... thats why he invited all that Masters of Metal to sing in his songs...

Cant tell u more abour the story cuz i cant write that long here :p

  • @Masterkillers144 where can i read the long histories of the albums? i bet the scarecrow trilogy is based on a history too

  • @Sazalamel1 @Sazalamel1 sadly no... only the two first albums... but well that does not make worse the scarrecrow album here is the link of the story ;) : but you will have to translate it because i found the story in spanish... i speak spanish lol :p usuarios.multimania.es/machaorl/Biografias/Avantasia.htm this is not the complete story but is amazing how a genius like Tobias make this.

  • @Masterkillers144 thanks a lot, i try to get it in german. i bet there is a german version out there because of tobias sammet ^^ but anyway thanks ;D

  • Masterpiece

  • Besides being an amazing song (and beautiful poetry), it contains such a great and strong message against religion and the blindness and evil it brings into our world. Hopefully, human beings will learn some day to open up their minds and to stop believing in tales, replacing them by wisdom. That's the day we'll be really free from the opression of the tirants who sell us lies and rule the world. Long live songs like this, but may the ideas they convey live longer.

  • @Olympicsagiita well said, this song and theater of salvation helped a great deal in freeing my mind from religion.

  • @Olympicsagiita I can't see there anything against religion. It' s about evil people.

  • @Olympicsagiita Don't bring your bias into amazing songs like this. If anything, the entire album (parts 1 and 2) are closer to being affirming of religion, and are merely critical of people who use it for their own selfish aims, or to try to make the populace lethargic and stupid 'for their own good.' Which is totally legitimate.

  • @Elusareth Tobias is actually for "religion" as in believing in god(s) but against "religion" as in the church or any similair organisation and the political influence it has (plus dogma's, discrimination agianst other religions etc.). The first has a lot of positive uses, the second tends to lead to a lot of idiocy. But in no way does he condemn believing he actually encourages it. Would be nice if more people would agree with him.

  • @Elusareth First of all, giving out an opinion is bringing bias, just like you are doing now, so I'll do it and I'll let you do it too. That's the beauty of it, giving opinions whenever we want to. Secondly, if these songs were religion affirming, why would they, for example, depict the Pope as someone who wants to keep people blind? In any case, I'm sure you are in a way misunderstanding me, for, after all, my problem lies in trying to convince others of one's points of view. (continues)

  • @Olympicsagiita I don't have a problem with you expressing an opinion. The problem is when the opinion seems to derive meaning from a song that the song seems to obviously not give (for an example, a lot of people think that the Tenth Avenue North song 'By your side' is a romantic song). I mean, ultimately, there's probably nothing wrong with you taking whatever meaning you want out of it, since it's theoretically harmless anyway, but it does create a point of contention.

  • @Olympicsagiita Tobias in the whole Metal Opera thing, seems to discuss a fundamental problem with many people who consider themselves authority figures in religions, and not with the religion itself. This isn't really that close to your message which was 'stop believing in fairy tales.' Faith isn't something any one person should be in charge of dictating, to the point that it can cause massive harm to a lot of people (which happens in the album, and has also happened historically).

  • It's OK if you choose to believe in God, for example, but that should be your own idea, and it shouldn't affect others. That's the problem with religion, and that's what Tobbias is saying here. Believe or don't, it's OK as long as it comes from you. However, in this world, beliefs are manufactured by the people in power, and they have exert an incredible control over the weak minded. Religion is the banner of these methods of control. Sammet doesn't say "Don't believe". He says"Think and choose"

  • That's my whole point, and in no way it's meant to offend anybody. However, I do have a problem with your imperative way of saying "Don't issue an opinion". That's, after all, my problem with religion. You're just saying "Don't think; don't create conflict; just accept things as they are". And hell, I'd rather die before not being able to say what I think. I'm sorry if you have a problem with that, since I do accept your opinion and your different way of thinking.

  • @Olympicsagiita The dude is actually trying to kill the spiritual word in order to keep people dumb and controllable. That sounds pretty affirming of religion to me. It just condemns people who want to use it to control others.

I ultimately don't think we have much of a disagreement, based on the subsequent things you wrote. Your first message just sort of struck me as a 'lulz religion sux' bit, which I see all the time on a decent bit of the music I listen to.

  • fucking amazing the solo of the guitar at the begining, sounds so metalian, rock and roll and rude!it make me feel so powerful

  • when i showed this song to my friends first they continued talking normally and when the end begins everybody got quiet and just enjoyed this epic ballad ^^

  • truly wonderful!

  • perfection ! ^^

  • Puttana eva che pezzo!

  • What we all need is a epic grand finale of all power metal bands to gather up on a stage to play LIVE on a huge festival of your favorite bands.

  • @danielTRulz im almost positive thast the singer of Edguy after 2.09

  • @TheSamwartooth thats cuz hes the lead singer of Avantasia, read every album it says "Tobias Sammet's Avantasia" :D

  • This is asome, you know, This song it's so hard tho create, and they did it, that It's real Music, by real Artists, they are a lot of diferents bands in Avantasia, that's the reason , they are amazing!!!!!!!!

  • The ending is so beautiful. Great work.

  • Magnificent.

  • 2.09 and after sounds like Meatloaf! hehehe

  • @DanielTRulz i think your speaker are broken

  • i see what you are saying it sounds like a meatloaf song with the piano and stuff

  • Goooosebumps! The whole album is awesome, but this part with the choir after the first 30 seconds is just.... just....

    Yeah, it's just! Unf!

  • Avantasia intire was composed by Sammet and all merits goes to him and his genuis mind. The best singer here is Tobi at all.

  • Kai's part of this always gives me goosebumps. Tobi and the other singers are great, but Kai is just on a different level in general, and that really shows here IMO. If only they'd had Hansi too, haha. Then this would really have been epic. Anyway, great song, and it actually doesn't suffer much from having to be split in two, although you didn't divide the vids at what I would consider the optimal point. Thanks for the upload.

  • I don't think this Idea would be too good.....

no single CD could contain this mass of awesomeness xD

  • yeah kai is just god of powermetal hansi isnt there because he has stronger voice than all the singers togheter so no one would be heard :D

  • i dont even listen to at vance or something but oliver hartman made a realy good job...great song

  • This part is the greatest im my opinion ;- ) _/m/

  • lol first part is metal this is like rock opera

  • Comment removed

  • kai hansen ftw XD

  • The piano in 2:08 is the best!

  • it seems that "epic" is the favorite word for american teens. It is sad that nothing truly epic will they know in their lives, just fads and "cool" words.

  • Well this song is tr00 epicness

  • This is so epic and so sad...

The part at 4:07 to the end is truly amazing. It just always give me chills.

    Thank you, Tobias, thank you...!

"You've been fighting for you souuuul..."

  • Amazing. I wish I could see it live.

  • Such a great song, the music parts are amazing and so is his voice.

  • My band covers this song, and we never say the name or artist at our shows. (I play the guitar, and in this song i sing the "I don't know what could I prove nothing but the cloven hoof. Babylon the scarlet whore has come" bridge and Rob Rock, Kai Hansen and David DeFeis's parts) We let people guess, and if they get both right we give them a Guitar Hero game. We have only given one out so far.

  • that is a sad, sad story indeed.

  • @Troll4MoarLulz where the fuck do u play that???i need one :P no just kidding guitar rules guitar hero sucks balls :)

  • @ultimateRupture I plated it once for my school.

  • do u have a vid of that ?? i would be glad to watch it!nice choice btw

  • Seven Angels is the best epic power metal song since Keeper of the 7 Keys.

  • totally agree

  • love it

  • "a little bit gay", you're an idiot.

  • He was listening to it through headphones or with volume down, then it does sound different...

  • @metalshoes u r so fukng idiot u dont know what music is, its enough for me that Kay Hansen is singing in that song

  • @amerottooo there may be some confusion, i was responding to someone, i love this song

  • @metalshoes ok im sorry man

  • @metalshoes it's cheesy, but that's okay for power metal

    i love this song

  • ...

  • @funkjaw true

  • TIMO TOLKKI'S SOLO IS AWSOME, I mean the all song is, but this solo is one of my favourites xD

  • I still get shivers listening to this song. It's *that* epic.

  • This is without doubt one of the best metal songs.

  • Can You tell me who is who?

  • * Gabriel Laymann Tobias Sammet * Lugaid Vandroiy Michael Kiske * Friar Jakob David DeFeis * Bailiff Falk von Kronberg Ralf Zdiarstek

     * Anna Held Sharon den Adel * Bishop Johann von Bicken Rob Rock * Pope Clement VIII Oliver Hartmann * Elderane the Elf André Matos * Regrin the Dwarf Kai Hansen * Voice of the Tower Timo Tolkki

  • very good song

  • my favorite avantasia song

  • Just great. The vers of kai hansen is awesome

You've been fighting for your soul

And sometimes it takes a toll

    Hope one day you'll understand

What it means to hold in hands

    What they call a fantasy

It is nothing but a key

To the world that now you're in

That they call a wicked dream

  • @Gabiccccc

  • andre matos is the best

  • Agree! AWESOME all time.

  • Absolutely AMAZING song!

  • Great song

    __________

  • 2:50 - 2:56 it looks like "Bat out of hell" by Meat Loaf, don't you think?

Anyway, Avantasia rocks the power metal world!

  • lmao i thought the same thing. I was about to write the same thing.

  • Actually, around that part is when I start thinking of The Who's rock opera "Tommy."

  • @HellBoyDestiny I totally agree, lol, i never would have even noticed that if i hadn't read your comment. Still an incredible song, but that is kind of funny :p

  • Great song, just great. Also great for music background when reading Angel Sanctuary! :]
