  • Another idiot: Tim Pawlenty now join the ranks of other pea brains like kaka jinder, scott walker, sarah palin, paul ryan, glenn beck, bill o'reilly, rush limbaugh etc.

  • HE DESTROYED MINNESOTA THE WORTHLESS PILE OF DUNG

  • Pawlenty almost ruined our state, and he'd do no better for the nation.

  • I found this video after watching the Tim Pawlenty interview on the Daily Show of June 10th, 2010. On the contrary to what you had to say about how bland Pawlenty is, I found him very compelling in his recent interview. Maybe he's improved his public presentation since your video was posted. In the video clips you showed he seemed very decent and classy, and *genuine* for a politician, despite his apparent reluctance to publicly advocate for himself.

  • Help my robotics team get to Istanbul, Turkey

We Just got honored by Minnesota Governer Tim Pawlenty

Click on my channel to see more

  • TIM PAWLENTY ........ doesn't understand the Constitution and he is a lawyer.

  • 2010 Jesse Ventura for governor

  • Pawlenty is a pile of garbage, never should he be allowed to hold office again. He has screwed up Minnesota so bad, it will never be the same again.

  • For his collusion with Norm Coleman to have denied the people of Minnesota equal representation to the United States Senate this year, I hope Tim Pawlenty's future political career will be ruined.

  • This is so hilarious in hindsight

  • Josh I'm not a conservative, but I think what you call bland is actually polish. He's very good on the talk show circuit: focused, knowledgeable, and well prepared. He's also good @ making a speech. I was hoping McCain did not pick Pawlenty. I think he was by far the best choice. Sarah Palin is charming & a better leader than McCain, but people will find that she's not to be trusted. You can take a girl out of Alaska, but you can't take Alaska out of the girl. Alaskan pols govern like the mafia.

  • That's awesome! Palin, the mafia Ice Queen of Alaska for President.

  • John McCain went to an unknown state and pick an unknown Governor with no experience of whatsoever as his VP when he could have chosen Mitt Romney who is well known and well qualifiied. If that doesn't tell you something about John McCain; I don't know what will. John McCain is really the one who puts politics before his country and who will do anything to get elected. Chosing Sarah Palin as his VP and assuming Hillary's Female Voters will join his party and vote for him - - just proved it.

  • The reason he picked Sarah Palin is because of the way she went against her party because of the wrong it was doing in Alaska. Romney did not fit that criteria. Obama wanted someone who would do as he says and was well known. McCain's biggest screw up with Palin is he waited too long.

  • i'm from MN...Pawlenty is a tool

  • The "white noise" is not Pawlenty, it's the host of this blog who needs a shave and shower.

"Wow, here's a new idea: kiss Obama's butt online!"

    It's been done, dumb bell!

  • Thank you for this video - I learned a lot about Pawlenty. He didn't make any mistakes -seems to have a healthy self-deprecating sense of humor - seems to be humble and most importantly, knows his place. I didn't feel like sticking my finger down my throat even once.

  • BORING! Then again, anyone but Romney! I personally hope he picks Palin.

  • Pawlenty is one of the worst governors we have ever had in Minnesota. When Jesse Ventura left office we were in a surplus and now we are so far in the hole that we can't see daylight, but the Twins are getting a new stadium on our dime, but our bridges aren't safe. Pawlenty is a liar, crook, and cold and calculating businessman...in other words, perfect for John Mccain.

  • "Pawlenty is one of the worst governors we have ever had in Minnesota."

Apparently your fellow Minnesotans don't think so. Pawlenty's approval ratings the last few years have been between 55-60%, which ain't bad for a Republican governor of a blue state.

  • That is true, I have done my research on him recently and he is well received.

  • During his first year as governor, Pawlenty balanced a deficit of $4.3 billion without raising taxes, primarily by reducing the rate of funding increases for state services, including funding for transportation, social services, and welfare.

    Umm... ok.

    Oh... and:

"State finance officials say Minnesota will have a budget surplus that should top $2 billion over the next two-year budget cycle."

  • that was great shows he has a sense of humor

  • It's Marshall, not Pawlenty, who strikes that improbable combination of vapid, self-satisfied, and awkward in this vid. In the clips intended to expose Pawlenty's woodenness, it's at least clear that Pawlenty knows his stuff and can back up what he says. Marshall, by contrast, never really explains how the video evidence he offers supports his smug dismissal of Pawlenty, and the effect is that this little piece falls dead flat.

  • SERIOUSLY. Cute? Please, do the general population a favor and don't reproduce. I'm not sure we can handle more people with scintillating intellect like yours.

  • Ever since Gore tried to steal the election in 2000 and failed the libs run around saying Bush stole the election. Then they said it should be one man, one vote because Gore won the popular vote. But when Bush won the popular vote by 3 million in 04 they're suddenly back on board with the electoral college and suggesting that Bush managed to steal 140,000 votes in Ohio. Anyway, Pawlenty looks good and speaks clearly and concisely. I prefer Romney but would support Tim.

  • Tim Pawlenty and been to Iraq and as a vet of IOF I believe in him and MCcain

  • They don't believe in you. VFW and IAVA rate McCain a D or worse for his vets voting record. He opposed the GI bill because he said the incentives were too good and people would leave the military. Given everything you have done to serve our country, you deserve someone who will do better by you than that.

  • I don't Care how boring he is he is a good gov. and want him to be the VP

  • What's that you say? HOW could Pawlenty be considered a good governor? I ask as a fellow Minnesotan who has seen nothing positive come out of his governorship. Isn't it great how he saved some greedy folks their tax dollars by cutting back on things like infrastructure inspections? I can't imagine a better metaphor for his governorship than the 35W collapse and Molnau's subsequent removal from her position of transportation chief.

  • this Pawlenty is a DORK...Romney eats him up

  • if McCain picks this boring dufus, he will lose.

    McCain/ Romney 2008

  • McCain wont lose, the fix is in, the vote is rigged.

So dont sweat it, rest assured that It doesnt matter which dufus he picks, Pawlenty or Romney.

  • drop dead liberal douchebag

  • drop dead bitch....guy is a BORE and has a huge nose

  • Handsome, cute, and sweet? Are these really the criteria we should be using to elect our leaders? They're not contestants on "The Bachelor" for chrissake!

  • Why, because they care more about Hillary's hurt feelings than the policies the Democratic party advocates? Great call.

  • Pawlenty in some ways seems like an "everyday" guy--and that's a GOOD thing. I see a lot of character similarities to Harry Truman. Pawlenty's got the same style. He's likeable.

Josh Marshall, you're kinda a dick. Btw your VP predictions are pretty shitty. You named Webb and Clinton? You really should have mentioned Evan Bayn and Joe Biden for the dems. What a shitty video.

  • Pawlenty is a great guy, he is a good man who is nice and has great character, hes not a 'same old' politician, he actually is from minnesota, he's got a great family, SHAME ON YOU FOR TRYING TO SAY HE IS 'BORING'

*Romney may bring Michigan, but he is such an elitist ASSHOLE that he will turn away the south and HES MORMAN, lets not forget, does the GOP want to turn away the evangelical social conservatives anymore then they already have with electing Mccain

  • Your piece hate, Romney is not career politician and is most genuine of all these phonies, who are the real flip floppers. Get over your Mormon hate. I'll bet you were a Huckabee guy. No one knows Pawlenty and he's not even popular in his own state, Romney won. He's boring and appears weak as to were Romney appears extremely Pres. No I'm not Mormon, but I've learned through this process I never want to be an evengelical, the biggest freakin winers in this country, like Huckabee.

  • he sounds closer to a true conservative than mccain (and certainly the bushistas), so that's a good thing for me. but at this point we need a social progressive like barack obama, even if he'll help to implement draconian populist schemes like universal health care. we've got to regain our place as a bastion of freedom, diversity, and diplomacy. barack's a genius who can help make that possible. if only he could work a little harder to protect that constitution he's supposedly an expert on.

  • For some reason, I really like this Pawlenty guy. He makes you feel comfortable listening to him. He would be a compliment to a McCain administration, and I think the more Americans hear this guy, the more they are going to like him.

  • you might say hes boring but hes just a stereotypical politition - i think hes just being careful NOT to do or say something DUMB - being from minnesota ive seen him speak on local channel and hes not always as bland as he is on the national shows.

  • im from minnesota - tim pawlenty is an excellent governor and i dont want to lose him as governor - i also remember him saying that he (im paraphraseing here) was going to stay governor and didnt want to be VP. on the other hand if he does become McCains running mate this would be the logical political career move for him (many VP's have become President)- however i dont thing McCain has the right psyche for the job. i think his POW years did something to him witch is understandable. good show.

  • Pawlenty wouldn't make mistakes. He'd be very solid as a VP candidate.

McCain needs to step up, be his own man, and not rely on a VP to win an election for him.

  • Thank you for your videos

  • Excellent video. Thanks. I really don't know much about this guy, but I hope McCain picks him. It would certainly be a boost for Obama, as the guy is just a younger version of McSame. A really dumb move on his part, he needs someone with flair and style; not my 10th grade math teacher.

  • This guy reminds me of a banker, or an undertaker. Very boring, not really that interesting and uninspiring. This could be a problem, since we need a (potential) president who can inspire as well as speak truth. I will say the guy didn't make any big mistakes. Whatever. People should be looking at Sarah Palin of Alaska. THERE'S an interesting choice - and she's a real CONSERVATIVE, too.

  • It's not a very good springboard for being elected. G. Bush the elder was the first sitting VP to be elected President since Martin Van Buren in 1836. But 9 VP's moved up without an election... 8 deaths... and one resignation. Nixon did get elected... but was not VP when he won... and he got to be that one resignation due to an extended cranial rectal insertion.

  • This guy might work as a VP candidate -- but isn't the VP thought of as a springboard to win the next White House?

  • MN is not a swing state

  • Minnesota a swing state? ::giggle::

  • OK I actually live in Minnesota, and Tim Pawlenty has been the worst governor in HISTORY!! All he does is veto veto veto. Pawlenty sucks large bawlz!!!!

  • Dont forget about coleman he is no peach either. Please call him and remind him you are watching his vote on FISA.

  • Pimp, no they are not tax exempt. They are exempt as you put money in, but the government taxes them when you take it out. Besides you are talking about current tax laws and not after the Obamanation of our taxes. He says he will only tax the rich, but sadly that will not get him enough money to do all the things he wants to do. He wants to raise capital gain taxes. 100 million Americans get money on capital gains, 25% of them make less than $50,000 a year. For Obama a Tax increase is change.

  • I think you listen to a little too much Rush Limbaugh.

  • Actually I never listen to him. He just doesn't interest me, since he spends too much time talking about himself. Besides I'm probably working when he would be on. I'm not rich and don't have to pay capital gains taxes. Those numbers were from OMB.

For Obama profits are a bad thing... so you punish with heavier taxes companies that are making profits. But the companies simply pass the tax increases along to the consumers in higher prices. So the poor pay more. The poor pay the tax increase

  • you keep making these statements like the are absolutes, while they are actually just the same republican mantra that only you believe.

  • They are absolutes... Raise taxes on any business section and that business section simply raises prices. You can't be so naive to believe greedy businessmen simply smile and accept the loss of profits. No they want the same profits they were making before the tax increase... still want to spend money the same way they were... Remember you are talking about greedy evil business people right... So they just raise prices. Prices go up... everyone, even the poor pays more. The poor pay the tax

  • Dog not to offend but I am well versed in tax law and the truth is that capital gains tax is one of the only legal forms of taxation. the 16th amendment as well as the supreme court have authorized the taxation of capital raised from investment. The reason is simple investment capital is the only capital most rich ppl ever see if it were not for this law they would not be taxed. McBush and friends are very rich indeed so cutting capital gains puts more money in their pockets.

  • Further more your argument about business being taxed does not hold water either. keep capital gains lower and tax the poor's income? Do you not see that either way the poor are screwed. We pay more so they can steal it! Not all but some of the very wealthy use their greed and power like a sword to cut through the less fortunate and steal from them. I personally have yet to see a solution to this problem. But if you have one I am all ears.

  • No, I have no solution to it. I certainly don't want to tax the poor... but that is what always happens when huge new programs start. Obama types start off proclaiming he'll just tax the rich... But somehow taxes on the rich are passed along in increased prices. And I can agree with what you say aobut capital gains taxes... but the idea that Obama can finance huge new programs and simply tax the rich to finance them... and not have any prices go up... I don't think so.

  • The problem is too much spending by the government. We're 9 trillion dollars in debt, borrowing money from the Chinese and Japanese. Our government lives beyond its means. Politicians buy votes with promised spending we can not pay for claiming they can just tax the rich to pay for new programs. Instead we borrow and keep ruining the value of the dollar. The American dollar was worth 4 German Marks in 1970. Today it is 1.24 against the obsolete German Mark. Rising prices hurt the poor most.

  • you make under 50k and don't have money in the market, yet you are against tax cuts for yourself, and for tax cuts for rich people. I'm sorry, but that just boggles my mind. You would give up 800 bucks for the chance that some rich guy making an additional 5 million is going to give you cheaper goods? that is just BS, the market is driven by supply and demand, not some magical income level some executive has to meet.

  • The only difference between Obama and McCain is the rhetoric! They will both jack up taxes. Dog is correct the problem is borrowing as well as printing of new dollars which will continue under either presidency! Both side are now ruling over the demise of our laws and country neither one is better. lawlessness begets more lawlessness we now living in a country of chaos. One word FISA!!!

  • I never said I make under 50K. I said 25% of the people paying capital gains taxes make under 50K. And I was not talking about an individual rich guy dropping prices. But when Obama puts a windfall profits tax on all Oil Companies... all the oil companies will raise their prices. Gasoline is a product with a limited elasticity of demand. If Gasoline dropped to 25 cents a gallon there is still only so much I could use... and if gasoline is $6 a gallon I still have to drive to work and would.

  • I'd have to say, bfayer is correct, Dogwarrior, you claim that "taxes on the rich are passed along in increased prices." generally speaking, prices are set by supply and demand, not the post-tax profit expectations of rich people. Neither candidate can responsibly cut taxes during our current war debt, so which income bracket should take the burden?

  • Bfayer is 100 percent incorrect Bfayer assumes that taxes will be cut under one of these administrations that is false! inflation tax is at the heart of this problem which is always passed on to the poor. Obama cannot stop that anymore than McSame.

  • Taxes on businesses are passed along in increased costs. I am not for cutting taxes. I am just not in favor of raising taxes at a time when the economy is so bad. I know promises of "I'll only tax the rich" are never true. I am in favor of cutting government spending to the point that we can pay for the government without help from overseas countries. We spend billions in handouts to big business, we pay people not to farm. I want to balance the budget. A deflating dollar is a hidden tax.

  • Similar arguments were made when Clinton proposed increased taxes on the wealthy.

When he did so, the results were increased prosperity for all and a budget surplus.

Sadly increasing taxes on those that don't have any money won;t generate anything like the kind of revenue than taxing those that have it to spare. And by the way giving the rich even more money wont make them work any harder. And there is plenty of soak room in the amount of money thats being made in customers getting ripped off.

  • Clinton had one big advantage too... after his first two years in office... He had a Republican Congress led by Newt Gingrich for the next 6 years... The opposing forces didn't allow one party to go crazy with spending. When either party controls both branches it is easier to be stupid...

  • Didn't stop Regan running the country into massive debt. Fiscal responsibility my ass.

  • Reagan didn't have Newt's Congress. Well maybe a democratic congress like Reagan had couldn't be stopped. Actually Reagan gave the tax cuts he wanted and the democrats spent the way they wanted and Reagan spent huge amounts building up the military. On the positive side all that military spending caused the collapse of the Soviet Union as it tried to keep up. The Americans paid the price for freeing eastern Europe.

  • Uh right.

Sad to think the fox history channel never mentions Lech Valensca, the solitarity movement in Poland, the Pope, Michael Gorbachov, the Soviets failed system (thats just from the top of my head) that have been credited with a far greater greater influence on the collapse of the soviet union. In fact russian historians give Reagen no credit at all. The cai was taken with total surprise when it happened. And the russian had no problem with "keeping up" with the americans...

  • In fact, most milirary analysts have estimated that the west would have held out for maybe 16 days before being compleatly wiped out if it came to a conventional war. Regan maybe pushed the collapse by a day.

Michael Gorbachov by the way says to this day that if he had not initiated Glasnost he would be still sitting in his General Secretaries chair in Moscow. Fancy that.

I know you cling to that as your achievement but the only incluence you had was decades of constant pressure, not Regan

  • "Reagan raised American defense spending to 7 percent of GDP, dramatically increasing the federal deficit. Yet in its efforts to keep up with the American defense build-up, the Soviet Union was compelled in the first half of the 1980s to raise the share of its defense spending from 22 percent to 27 percent of GDP, while it froze the production of civilian goods at 1980 levels." We spent 7% of GDP and they had to spend 27% and the Soviet union collapsed. All the other things also contributed.

  • "Following the USSR's previous large military buildup, President Reagan ordered an enormous peacetime defense buildup of the United States Military; the Soviets did not respond to this by building up their military..."

  • Please people! TPM! Everybody! capital gains tax will NOT be subjected to your 401Ks because retirement accounts are tax EXEMPT! so when Gov. Pawlenty suggested that, it's a shame if he can get away with that!

  • Pawlenty looks like Bob Saget...

  • I hope Obama pick Chuck Haygel as a running mate. In the same respect, I hope McCain choose his good friend Joe Biden. Unity for USA. Lets be back.

  • pretty biased reporting TPM.

  • I dont think theyre hiding it

  • RON PAUL

  • If McCain wants to win,he's gonna have to pick Romney (this is coming from a Republican that respects McCain yet HATES Romney) As much as I hate to say it,it's true. A McCain/Romney ticket WILL win Florida and Michigan. Apparently it can also have a chance in Pennsylvania(Probably won't tho)

If McCain just wants to stay in the ballpark and not get blown out, then he should settle for Crist or Huckabee, but if he wants to win, he really needs to go with Romney. Romney is truly his best chance.

  • is there some kind of a timeline for when Mccain and Obama have to pick their VPs.

if Obama picks Hillary as his VP he will surely lose the Presidential election.

I hope Obama picks Webb as his running mate because he wants to expose Cheney and Bush for the crooks that they are.

Wouldnt it be nice to see high treason charges brought up against George and Dick, I personally would love to see that happen!

  • No set timeline for either candidate, however it is wisest to try to pick one at least a couple weeks before the Conventions. So ideally they should pick their candidates by the first week of August this year.

  • Y'know, every time one of these republican line-spouting knuckleheads says "the surge is working/Iraq is stable" I want to sit them in front of a tape of the end of "This Week" from Sunday when they listed 24 more confirmed troops killed in action over there.

So if people are still getting blown up and shot, how is that stable...

  • Why don't you at TPM review Pawlenty for his political views instead of only judging his skills as a speaker. McLuhan was right saying that there's no difference between medium and message anymore. Please prove him wrong. /A European regular TPM-viewer

  • Well, it seems that Pawlenty "fits the suit" of the Republican catch-phrase deliverer. He seems ready to say whatever the stooges in control want him to say. Perfectly serviceable. Bland. Exactly what we're all used to. Let McCain pick him. They don't have a chance in hell to win anyway. Thankfully. (And as a Massachusetts resident and former Mitt Romney victim, I would LOVE to see Romney on the ticket so the world could see even more of what an inffective, out-of-touch tool he is.) Peace.

  • I think Josh Marshall is an idiot.

  • I'm from Minnesota, even we don't like Pawlenty. He's never won a majority, even as the incumbant candidate. If McCain thinks he'll have a shot at Minnesota with Pawlenty he's fooling himself. Hope he does it though.

  • Well in Canada we have as our Prime Minister a guy as band as him. Stephen Harper. (is being seen as a puppet for Bush)

  • I so want it to be Obama/Webb.

  • Pawlenty is bland, i completely agree. If Obama picks Evan Bayh for vp, then the v-presidential debates should put all of America to sleep,Sweeeeet!!!!! Barack Obama should pick Jim Webb, i love him.

  • QuasiEvilScott hit the nail on the head Tim you are a tool please fall off the face of the earth now please. Any dip shit that says anything good about him obviously doesn't know what they are talking about!

  • I live in MN and all I have to say is bring it on!! Pawlenty doesn't even stand a chance of being reelected as GOV of MN. Trust me In am a republican and know Minnesotans hate Tim only reason He got in office is because Jesse threw us off but don't worry that wont happen again!

  • I take back everything I said about Jindal. He is delusional. This guy has LOST it. Today in response to the Supreme Court Ruling, he signed a CHEMICAL CASTRATION bill in LA. TRUE STORY. wtf! Google it!

  • It's about the issues, stupid. McCain is bad news.

  • Pawlenty is another prime example of a slick talking politician that will do what is best for him. Not you. Not me. Not your families. Not our country. Not our constitution. Not our troops.

Here in MN, we have a large dosage of Pawlenty 'grandstanding' anytime there's big news. I never voted for the guy and will never vote the guy.

Never trust anyone that tells you the bad news with a smirk on their faces. That's the Pawlenty I've seen.

  • I'm not so sure about bland, but I thought Pawlenty handled his responses quite well. He doesn't seem to stutter or stammer much. He's also a younger guy, fairly cleancut, I think he would make a good vp for McCain. I think he speaks clearly with good verbal fluency. I can see why he was elected - he seems to know his stuff, regardless of how blandly he presents it.

  • Pawlenty is good fiscal manager. His appeal lies in his clarity and principles. He is popular for results rather than style. He is a close rival to Obama on green issues.

  • And lastly - the "fade to white."

    So. Incredibly. Apt.

    Anyone else want him?

    Take our Governor. Please!

    -Qes

  • I can't believe Jesse Ventura's legacy doesn't live on.

The end of this video sounds like most news these days.

  • Ack! No! We Minnesotans barely tolerate Pawlenty. Those who voted for him are mostly regretful of it.

But we love our own - and it would actually put Minnesota back into swing-state status.

    NONONONONONONONONO!

Minnesota has voted blue since blue was discovered as a color. We're not purple. We dont wanna BE purple.

The RNC is in for a bit of a surprise when they get here and discover that our brief insanity of the last two elections has been corrected. This is a (very) liberal town.

    O_o

    -Qes

  • I live in minnesota and he is a very good govenor. who cares if hes boring he knows his stuff and frankly America needs help which pawlenty can give and who cares if hes boring he can help the u.s

  • I live in MN too... The roads are falling apart, there's a recession, and they're taxing everything to pay for stadiums... MADNESS!!! Anyone who thinks he's a good govener needs to turn on the news, get out of the house, and pull their head out of their butt.

  • you're right maverick, america needs help, but not from the same schmuck party that's fucked up everything in the last 14 years.

you gotta be kidding if the same ole, same ole is the ticket for getting us out of the mess we're in.

take a lesson from your fellow minnesotain and pull your head out of you're butt.

america's not as stupid as you want it to be.

  • Do you think the Dems are going to change anything. Did you not learn from 06? Did they remove our troops from Iraq? Both candidates will be bad. I'm not sure who will be worse. I bleepin' can't stand McInsane and I don't trust Obama. My instincts will prove me right in a few months after he's elected.

What we need is some free-wheeling maverick to come along and kick everyone in the pants. Does anyone know of such a candidate? I'll give you a clue: "I ain't got time to bleed".

  • I have to respond to to the question about the democratic congress not being able to change anything. You have to know (please tell me you know) that the president has the power to veto any bill proposed by the congress if he dis-agrees? The problem with our democratic congress is that they have a republican president. Bush even lets them know in advance that he will veto that bill when they present it to him. You've got to know this.....

  • I really hate it when politicians talk about tax law. This guy flat out does not know a thing. Retirement income has nothing to do with capital gain income, they are not the same. I makes him look like an ass to me.

  • he keeps on the topic most of the time but is dull not boring.

    hes not too bad

  • stan628, is that what you want for a guy who's a heart beat away from the presidency (and remember george carlin, supposedly a healthy man dropped dead at 71, mccain's age),someone who's "not too bad"?

i don't want "he's not too bad" i want a man who can take the reins when mccain crokes. not someone "not too bad" jeez, wake the hell up!

  • you guys gotta work on your delivery and cadence if you wanna be funny.

  • That was horrible sarcasm if it was

  • Romney? Are you out of your minds?

  • born after the advent of jet flight...

    classic. :)

  • Subtly the most humorous TPMtv video. The fade to white was a great touch. I almost fell asleep.

  • The MOST Liberal media since NY Times! Go Veracifier!

  • The more boring the person he gets the better. It's not like he can make himself more exciting anyway.

  • My fear is that McCain and the Romneybot run together, win, and then McCain kicks the bucket. So we get stuck with the Romneybot who will pretty much enforce martial law and roll the US off a cliff with his foreign and economic policies that will make George Bush look like Woodrow Wilson.

  • Someone needs to tell TIM PAWLENTY to go and type in ZENN in the youtube bar.

  • Now if only that Quebec car could run on roads somewhere here in Canada. :)

  • i think mccain needs a magical poodle who spits fire to make him more exciting at this point.

  • pawlenty

    = nob head

  • Bland is better than tainted. I think he's a good guy for Vice Presidential slot. Besides, he speaks eloquently.

  • He seems elitist... he could be a democrat

  • McCain Surge strategy?? Isn't it the Bush or Petreaus strategy?? Oh so he wants credit for that, but just not the rest of the stuff that Bush did... Let's talk about that strategy, have we achieved the objectives of that strategy? No.. This guy would be a great VP choice, he will put bore Republicans to death and they will sleep thru the election.

  • Since when did being a policy wonk become a bad thing? Seriously, I would rather someone talk about policy than some kind of razzle dazzle nonsense. I usually like Veracifier's videos but get them on policy matters not on "being too bland". That is horserace bullshit that the cable "news" media follows.

  • She likes hockey and football, but he jokes about her not having sex with him... hmm...

  • Pawlenty is out of Minnesota next election anyway.

He's Dan Quayle with more brains and he's rectangular

  • LMFAO they showed the footage and the Pawlenty radio thing was lol

  • Definetely too bland he needs to be a woman or something.

  • Yup, Pawlenty is a pretty typical "Generic Runningmate" guy. Not overly likable or disliked. Safe would be the word, I suppose.

That said, I'm really curious about TPM's views on the possible Democratic VPs.

  • Other than his funny joke, he suckz

  • He's like a weatherman on tv... this is terrible. How sad that this is the best this country can do for the second highest job in the land. Pathetic. Really sad.

b.t.w. the mccain surge... is a failure. Security is happening because our troops continue to be in harms way. The Iraqi people are still at a hairtrigger against each other and the government is not accomplishing ANYTHING to effectively run the country. If we get the hell out... they will be forced to advance or die. OUT NOW!

  • I don't mean to rag, but, Jim Pawlenty looks a little cross-eyed....

  • Charlie Christ is a great republican. He's done a LOT for Florida.

  • Is it just me or does Pawlenty seem to blink a lot?

  • Don't know about Romney, even though I don't really want McCain to win. On the one hand, McCain would lose the votes of some out of fear of a Mormon president. On the other hand, he would get more Mormon votes in hope's of one.

  • I think Bill Richardson would be a great VP for Obama. I admired him as a pres. candidate early on, and I think that he would compliment Obama very nicely. His resume brags more than enough experience to make up for any that Obama may be lacking.

  • i hope mit gets vp.. then the news would be funny with all his f*** ups and mccain would lose.. Obama

  • aI also speak in a monotone voice, without wavering pitch or tempo. LOL

    Obama2008!!!

  • Hitler kissed Paul Von Hindenburg's ass a lot too.

  • you were kidding about Romney, right?

  • This guy is pretty bland. I don't think he'll contribute much. As swing states go, Minnesota is not a huge electoral prize.

I think McCain will pick a woman if he's smart. It would rub salt in the Clinton supporters' wounds, make it doubly hard for them to support Obama. Sure, they'll flee McCain if they look at his policies, but if they're very upset over Clinton losing & looking for a reason, chosing a moderate woman could entice them.

Like the slow fade to white @ the end. Nicely done.

  • feelfree: Maybe Kay Bailey Hutcheson? I believe she is well-respected.

  • Speaking as a Minnesotan,

Tim Pawlenty is a huge fucking tool. If it wasn't for all the outstate rednecks in the rural part of our state, we'd actually have a real governor. He's fucked up our state beyond belief....

Just look at our roads and lack of mass transit.....

    Fuck Pawlenty.

  • I'm from Greater Minnesota. We think he's a tool too, dont push him onto us. It's that damn 'red corridor' from the metro to St. Cloud.

The people that elected that wack-job over Wetterling.

Minnesota is coming out of her haze, and returning to her civic-minded liberalism. Just you watch.

  • Um. I don't see it. McCain need a Spark, not another bland person.

also, LOL, I'm totally for Mit And John.

    OBAMA 'O8 \o/

  • Tim Pawlenty... now there's a real hero

  • I'm an incredibly lazy person. But Pawlenty and McCain have me beat all over the place. ZZZZZZ!

  • ROFLage. I love your deadpan delivery. Look at all these idiots taking your sarcasm seriously.

  • If could you send money to support Mitt Romney? You've got to be Fucking kidding me...

    Your sarcism kills me sir.

  • Gawd. The Democrats have soooo much talent out there. And the GOPhers have nobody.

  • I think that Edwards and Clark are above all those candidates. This Kansan would like for you to pronounce Kathleen's name SeBEElius. I believe that is correct.

  • Wow I found myself falling asleep. The transition audio just makes it worse!

  • he is mayonnaise.

  • "Ha ha ha ha, gosh!"

    "Oh, you're good! He's good, isn't he?"

Mika, daughter of a bilderberger, gladly plays down her intelligence to be Joe's 'girl".

    In The Tank.

  • Since when does deliberate deception constitute a "good" possible VP?

  • Ritt ROMNEY???

    FUCK THIS CHANNEL FOREVER!!!

    remove me please!

  • He makes for good fodder for jokes - that's the appeal to the veracifier folks.

  • Capital Gains taxes do not affect 401K or IRA accounts.

Republicans must really think we are stupid.

  • f' McCain, f' Obama, f'Pawlenty...

  • Fuck 'em all and vote libertarian!

  • Gawd!! Wake me when it's over.zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • Bobby Jindal's last name is pronounced "JIN-dole"

  • The voodooist/Catholic exorcist? That guy?

  • Yes, that guy. I only made the comment since Josh seemed to mispronounce his name. Not that I care so much about Bobby Jindal, because I don't. I'm an ardent Democrat.

  • BOO! Tim Pawlenty sucks ass...

  • *yawn*

  • Cain should pick Abel
