Great video and finds Dawg! I like that little shovel of yours. It really scoops the dirt up nice! The soil there must be very kind to old coppers. The ones I see coming out of the NE are usually so corroded they can barely be identified as coins! A lot of guys post their finds on the Friendly Metal Detecting Forum, check it out if you get a chance! On-On and HH!
Thanks Daddydigger....I made that little shovel 25 + years ago. All I ever have to do is sharpen it. The soil here in most of the areas is very good to copper and silver. It is unusual to get a coin in bad shape, unless it is the newer zincon cents. HH
MNDigger.. Yes this is the same park..This park has given up at least a dozen or more coins in the 1700's that I am aware of. Most of them have been reales, but a spattering of English and a couple of French have been found.
great video nice finds

Great Finds! I'm not sure if I'm right or not but I think that U.S. Army button is from the Pre- Civil War era, near the era of the War of 1812

Great Finds. Sure is funny how you find stuff in an area that you have pounded hard before.

It just goes to show, that an area that's been in use, may never actually be hunted out. I'm certainly counting on it!
