In the last mission of british campaign there are two or three king tigers, and one of them can take out one of your churchill tanks with one shot... O_o I needed 3 Fire Flies to take down ONE king tiger, and it had to be with support artillery and some tactics to get behind it. Then came the other King Tiger and it obliterated my 3 fire flies... What the hell was wrong with Relic? One King Tiger it's ok... But 2 king tigers and a Jagdpanther? C'mon!

In multiplayer, you have to pick Wehrmacht (as your side), and Terror Doctrine for your command company.
You can only call in the King Tiger once, and if it dies, that's it... Can't call another in.
It's a bad idea to deploy it by itself, it's best used in a group along with other tanks and infantry. It has very good range too, so keeping it at a distance while other units spot for it is a good idea.
Once you download Eastern Front mod, KT no longer strikes fear into the Allies. It's the IS-2s and hordes of infinite Russian tanks that strike fear into the KT
What I do is to flank the KT with 17 Pounder AT (2 ~ 4) of them... WIth this my best record was destroying the KT in 1.5 seconds. Remember to put obsticals before the AT so the KT can't get it.
are you talking about the Jagdpanther? (search it and tell me if that's what you're looking for)
The Panzer Elite Tankhunters have it. Just like the King Tiger, it can only be deployed once. But its square turret you described, it doesn't actually have a turret.
thats all very nice, but unfortunately in most CoH games, a player does not have 5 Airbourne Companies and an equal number of demo charge equipped GI squads as well as 1 or 2 M10's just lying around..
thats cuz CoH doesnt properly do dmg for tanks/infantry and what not.....its for play balance.....While the King Tiger would cut through any allied tank an M10 could cut through the side of the King Tiger...the side of the Tiger is armored like the front of a sherman..only its front is heavily armored

In COH the Firefly has low firepower. This is ridiculous. It was armed with 76.2mm gun and a 57mm does more dmg? Christ....

The only one who could maybe survive to a direct hit on their front armor.

It was their own damn fault for starting the war in the first place. Hitler was busy making the biggest guns and the shinest toys to win the war when simplicity and sheer ease of creation won instead. Thats why basically no country uses the Tiger as their main battle tank now but still have Shermans as their main tanks. You got that?
And the concepts of the tiger tank were most deffinetly not distroyed. Yes the tiger ll was a dead end, but the tiger l was arguably the best tank of the war. And it's concepts are still used today, for example in the leopard tank, which is also german.
A mistake on my part, I was thinking of the M60 tank, which is still in use in Malaysia.
How was it the best tank in the war? It had very complex suspentions and such that made maintance difficult. Its armor wasn't sloped which meant that it needed more to compensate, overburdening its suspentions. It was very expensive to produce, which explains why only 1355 were made. I hope they didn't use the flat armor concept for the leopard.
The real winner of the tank of the war should go to the T 34.

Okay this is getting tedious. Four Sherman tanks could destroy a tiger tank through outmanouvering it. Considering it outnumbered it like more than 100 to 1, that wasn't really hard. The Pershing came later to fight the Tiger toe to toe, which it did and it had no engine problems as it used the same engine as the Sherman tank.

Only proplem is that engangements in WW2 was fought at 500-1km. Rarely did a german or allied tank get to fight at ranges exceeding 1km.
So in practical terms, rarely would any tank in ww2 fight at long range so it didnt really matter.
In tactical situations heavy armor and a strong cannon would be better. The allied armor would've needed to get close to achive a killshot - flanking it would work as well. Proplem is - tiger is never alone.

ok thats true but a stronger cannon and more armor meant more fuel (something the germans lacked) and more chance of problems in the tanks inner-workings. in additon the tank was slower when compared to a sherman which meant it could be flanked and destroyed.
Yes it would be slower but in most situations the germans found themselfs in a defenive posistion, from which the K.tiger front armor was nearly impossible to destroy.
In this video we see the K.Tiger alone vs a swarm of allies. It was never this way in real life, the K.tiger was allways escorted by other panzer forces.
I don't count a shot to the front as a flank shot, the King Tiger ambushed the Super Pershing, who flanked who? German tanks were superior to the Sherman tanks in almost everyway except availability of parts. And thats what won the war, numbers, not strength.
Well to be honest I couldn't find where the hit was actually to the front. I read it was on the flank on a forum. However the KT and SP only met once in battle and one can't really base "which is better" simply on one encounter.
Very few SPs were made as they were made as they were experimental (and hence only a couple made) and they were made purposely to go against the KT.

T-34 was the best tank in WW2.. cuz you have to take into account the cost, the efficiency, how fast could it be produced etc.. and when you factor all that in, you get a result that is clear: THE BEST TANK IN WW2.. of course tiger was more powerful, but not enough numbers, not fast enough, to hard to manufacture, to heavy for transport etc..btw, in the game, at lest they should make the king tiger a bit more destructive, like 2 shot and sherman is dead, instead of increadible 3-5 shot!?!?
I would agree that the T-34 is a great tank when you factor all that in, but one on one, the Tiger was better.
Also COH, doesn't have a T-34 in it (unfortunately). I hope the make an Eastern Front expansion soon. That's where all the great tank battles of WW2 were fought.

The germans fought on the eastern, western, and african fronts. The Americans fought in the pacific and western, the germans inflicted way more casualties on the eastern front

It's a bad idea to deploy it by itself, it's best used in a group along with other tanks and infantry. It has very good range too, so keeping it at a distance while other units spot for it is a good idea.

Once you download Eastern Front mod, KT no longer strikes fear into the Allies. It's the IS-2s and hordes of infinite Russian tanks that strike fear into the KT

What I do is to flank the KT with 17 Pounder AT (2 ~ 4) of them... WIth this my best record was destroying the KT in 1.5 seconds. Remember to put obsticals before the AT so the KT can't get it.

The Panzer Elite Tankhunters have it. Just like the King Tiger, it can only be deployed once. But its square turret you described, it doesn't actually have a turret.

thats cuz CoH doesnt properly do dmg for tanks/infantry and what not.....its for play balance.....While the King Tiger would cut through any allied tank an M10 could cut through the side of the King Tiger...the side of the Tiger is armored like the front of a sherman..only its front is heavily armored

@Modusoperandicod4 That is true. But Firefly could penetrate King Tigers Frontal Turret Armor in one hit form great distance. Its just a matter who is going to hit first. That means that King Tiger would not always win against a single Sherman (Firefly).
In COH the Firefly has low firepower. This is ridiculous. It was armed with 76.2mm gun and a 57mm does more dmg? Christ....

The only one who could maybe survive to a direct hit on their front armor.

If faceing multiple kônigstigers the allies would't be able to outmanouver them. This senario would often result - I think - in the allies lousing alot of tanks, soldires and material.
Besides the relibility issues the Kônigstiger was the hallmark of all tanks today, heavy armor, big gun and reasonble mobility.
It inspired the world of armor we know today which ultimately shows how skilled the german designers were.
As smart as the allies was, they had nothing like this.

If you reason like that it's the same way today. A Leopard 2, M1 Abrams, Leclerc, Challanger 2, T-72, T-80 or T-90 would be decimated to due to the advances in anti tank weaponry.

I hope that tank manufacturers are able to develope better protections in the futures, like some form of energy shields or something because i have a feeling that anti tank weapons in the future will have little effort of penetrating any form of reactive or composite armor.

It was their own damn fault for starting the war in the first place. Hitler was busy making the biggest guns and the shinest toys to win the war when simplicity and sheer ease of creation won instead. Thats why basically no country uses the Tiger as their main battle tank now but still have Shermans as their main tanks. You got that?

And the concepts of the tiger tank were most deffinetly not distroyed. Yes the tiger ll was a dead end, but the tiger l was arguably the best tank of the war. And it's concepts are still used today, for example in the leopard tank, which is also german.

A mistake on my part, I was thinking of the M60 tank, which is still in use in Malaysia.
How was it the best tank in the war? It had very complex suspentions and such that made maintance difficult. Its armor wasn't sloped which meant that it needed more to compensate, overburdening its suspentions. It was very expensive to produce, which explains why only 1355 were made. I hope they didn't use the flat armor concept for the leopard.
The real winner of the tank of the war should go to the T 34.

I know you never said the Allied tanks were useless. But you said the Allies had no tanks to fight against the Tigers. I read plenty of history books to know that the allied tanks and the german tanks both served long after the war (hell some countries still use Sherman tanks, can the German tanks boast that?)
History and machines are two seperate things entirely, don't mix them up. If you wish to argue some more I can say the Pershing tank was superiorly armored and had better reliability.

Okay this is getting tedious. Four Sherman tanks could destroy a tiger tank through outmanouvering it. Considering it outnumbered it like more than 100 to 1, that wasn't really hard. The Pershing came later to fight the Tiger toe to toe, which it did and it had no engine problems as it used the same engine as the Sherman tank.
How could a tank that is more or just as powerful as a Tiger have better reliability? Its because the Allied armored war machine wasn't as useless as you said it was.

Listen. You say the allies had no good tanks to counter against the german tanks, but in fact thats not true. I said they had the Pershing tank which came later on the war, which also served in the Korean war. Just like the Sherman tank which served a lot of countries after the war. You can't just say a tank serves after the war it means its better.
You talk about the Germans having tanks that the allies can't compare with and I rebuke you and you bring up something else entirely to counter.

Everyone had plans for tanks that never came to be. So you can't really just include the German's tanks that never even left the testboard. Hitler also wanted an incredibly heavy tank that would buckle roads, really stupid.
Besides you were arguing on the fact that the Allies had no tanks to defeat the German tanks, when in fact they did later on the war. Then you bring up German tank designs that never even left the testbed.

Only proplem is that engangements in WW2 was fought at 500-1km. Rarely did a german or allied tank get to fight at ranges exceeding 1km.
So in practical terms, rarely would any tank in ww2 fight at long range so it didnt really matter.
In tactical situations heavy armor and a strong cannon would be better. The allied armor would've needed to get close to achive a killshot - flanking it would work as well. Proplem is - tiger is never alone.

ok thats true but a stronger cannon and more armor meant more fuel (something the germans lacked) and more chance of problems in the tanks inner-workings. in additon the tank was slower when compared to a sherman which meant it could be flanked and destroyed.

Yes it would be slower but in most situations the germans found themselfs in a defenive posistion, from which the K.tiger front armor was nearly impossible to destroy.
In this video we see the K.Tiger alone vs a swarm of allies. It was never this way in real life, the K.tiger was allways escorted by other panzer forces.

I don't count a shot to the front as a flank shot, the King Tiger ambushed the Super Pershing, who flanked who? German tanks were superior to the Sherman tanks in almost everyway except availability of parts. And thats what won the war, numbers, not strength.

Well to be honest I couldn't find where the hit was actually to the front. I read it was on the flank on a forum. However the KT and SP only met once in battle and one can't really base "which is better" simply on one encounter.
Very few SPs were made as they were made as they were experimental (and hence only a couple made) and they were made purposely to go against the KT.
487 KTs were produced.

Ok this is exactly what I read. The hit was at the front of the King Tiger, it was hit at the exposed underbelly while it was climbing a piece of debris.
As you said we can't tell which was better. But regardless, with these two tanks and their powerful guns, the first shot that hits will be the one that wins.

T-34 was the best tank in WW2.. cuz you have to take into account the cost, the efficiency, how fast could it be produced etc.. and when you factor all that in, you get a result that is clear: THE BEST TANK IN WW2.. of course tiger was more powerful, but not enough numbers, not fast enough, to hard to manufacture, to heavy for transport etc..btw, in the game, at lest they should make the king tiger a bit more destructive, like 2 shot and sherman is dead, instead of increadible 3-5 shot!?!?

Also COH, doesn't have a T-34 in it (unfortunately). I hope the make an Eastern Front expansion soon. That's where all the great tank battles of WW2 were fought.

The germans fought on the eastern, western, and african fronts. The Americans fought in the pacific and western, the germans inflicted way more casualties on the eastern front
