He has a good point. You have to appeal to greed to make most people change their ways. It's a commentary of the corruptness and selfishness of human nature more than anything. A lot of people think altruism is a form of weakness - except when they're parroting something they heard in church - but never really act on personally.
I get a good chuckle whenever those commercials come on...Polar Bears are fucking stupid...swim to the mainland RETARDS! They're probably too lazy after shilling Coke.
What the fuck is an Okie? And thanks for responding to the comment I posted 2 years ago, it woke me up from the dead. Now I'm back and better than ever. Time to skin some baby polar bears and burn their carcasses while emitting as much CO2 to the atmosphere as I count my millions of dollars. Yes! It's a great day to be a Republican, and I owe it all to you, my brother, my comrade Antithropocentric...you sir are truly better than 20 Christs.
Unsure that your argument that environmental activists, intellectuals, scientists should ADAPT/CATER to the ignorance of the human mass in order to save the world that this very ignorant mass is living in instead of the other way around is sound. I think it is the reason how we got here in the first place...catering and adapting to the lowest common denominator instead of setting standards on educational, historical, social, environmental conscience so that this mass strives/aspire to evolve....
Great talk. But if we accept a value structure where people don't care about the future and don't care about people (or polar bears) far away, then presumably the logical alternative is focussing on the here and now? I'm looking outside, and the here and now seems fine. And I live in one of the richest countries in the world (the UK), so if and when climate chaos unfolds, I'll probably be one of the few who is ok. If I decide I don't care about the 'there and then', why should I care at all?

@doddsino, Senator James Inhofe is a "dumb Okie" personified.
Migrating Oklahomans during the Great Depression got a reputation for ignorance, which some of them apparently deserved.

@Antithropocentric
Who is Senator James Inhofe, and why are you touching me there? I don't even know you and you didn't even buy me a drink!
