"I should have been home, yesterday.."

  • I love these Legends Johnny Cash & John Denver they both are my favorite!

  • Hail West Virginia!

    MOUNTAINEERS!

  • Whoa!

    Kickass!

  • is there mp3 version of this? i can't find it :(

  • best duet ever?

  • I am from West Virginia and I want to say how beautiful this is

  • I think the older celebrities and songs promoted the green movement more than anyone today does. The music back the, I am pretty much talking about 75% of it, made people want to be in the country and preserve the nature. Now, all the music is about clubbin it up. But today they preach it outside of the music, but not in their music. Back then they either did both or just music. Let the music do the talkin. Kept their political views fairly quiet

  • this is so beautiful.

  • 1:25 Johnny Cash says Dusty Roads, love it...so many times I ve played the song and said dusty instead of country, by accident...

  • This is one song I'd have loved Cash to have done on one of his American albums.

  • I never really cared for Denver, but I have to admit that his picking is quite good, and the melody of this song is brillant. Plus signing with Johnny Cash makes it cool.

I think Johnny Cash made anyone who he sang with cool. So now I guess because Johhny Cash endorsed him, I like him too

  • @sillykidssong

that is EXACTLY what i was just thinking hahaha

  • I am glad and honored seeing them duetting here. I miss them both as they felt and feel like family to me. They must be then...

  • I remember my dad singing this when I was a kid, great memories!

  • Two LEGENDS is music.

  • I was driving in Turkey during Desert Storm with my 702 (admin assistant) and this song came on Armed Forces Radio and I started siging and my 702 sang to and then Ifound out he as from West virginia! Weare still firends today after almost 20 years!!

  • When I just heard it, I got the chills, so wonderfull!!

    I love them both!

    Thanks for the posting!!

    Just great!

  • masterpiece!

  • Let's Gooooooooo Mountaineers!!!!

  • This really is a treasure, and it sad to think how it is a part of history, that can never be experienced again, except for watching a video of it. But, we should be glad that we at least have had this experience.

  • Music for the ages, a timeless classic performed by two legends - thanks for the good quality!

  • Thank you for posting this- AMAZING! Johnny Cash- my favorite muscian singing one of my heart songs!

  • I just cannot get enough of this!!!!!!!!

  • Great... By the way: Johnny sings "Teardrops in HER eye" instead of "in MY eye"! (1:07) Quite funny. But i think Johnny Cash is allowed to do that ;)

  • I love this song....I live in the city these days, but I grew up in the backwoods. I miss those days, every time I hear this song, I remember driving down the dirt driveway to my parents place years ago. Great stuff!

  • Thanks for posting. Absolutely love this.

  • can u post the i'll fly away clip from this video? jd is my idol!thanks in advance if you can!

  • Is this version of Take Me Home, Country Roads on one of Johnny Cash's or John Denver's albums? If so, what's the name of that album?

  • Two great American musicians, miss them both.

  • One man who sings like a man (johnny) and another marvellous music making man.

    GREAT !!!

  • Jonyy?!! lol

  • Uploaded a year ago... Were this song America's national anthem, I'd just have to nationalize there!

  • oh my god never knew this exicited its class

  • Two of my lifelong heroes making beautiful music together. A perfect moment of life and love.

  • There is just a certain magic in this, that is hard to put into words. You can not hear this song, and not feel something from it, something that just touches you inside, a kind of nostalgia for times past that will not ever happen again.

  • I love Johnny Cash.This is awesome.Fabulous contrast.

Thanx a lot for this.I liked seeing them singing together! John Denver was pretty cool too.10/10.

  • The contrast is voided by thei love of music and nature. great vid what a voice denver had............and cash supports him like a angel

  • what year is this and what is it from I love them both thanks 4 posting!

  • It's got to be early to mid 70's. Dont know a specific date, however.

    Cheers,

    Chris

  • It is probably a spot and appearance done for Cash's variety show in the seventies; I know Denver was a guest for sure.

  • 1977

  • Thanks for putting it up, I absolutely love this duet they are doing.
