hardware synths have a processor inside that renders the soundwaves just like a computer so i dont think theres too much difference in soft and hard synths, the algorithms that generates the soundwaves might be a bit different, but that doesnt mean you cant get the same algorithms in a software synth. its all about the programming of the synths (software and hardware) that decides how they will sound. Also, Showtek and other pro artists get their tracks professionally mastered. -
@Yhimself That music industry is full of Placebo, i get so many people telling me that i wont get anywhere with FL because the audio engine is lacking proper algorithms to help with the mixdown.......what are these algoritums? because if it's not output of one inset to master i don't want them! i want control!

As I told my good friend Yhimself before. I think the Defqon1 anthem is more concerned to let ''amateur'' producers into the finals, to give them a chance to be heard. Lets all be honest hear, that Yhimself could almost join every label, if he wanted to. This would be a 100% winner, if it was a professional defqon1 track contest. i like the intro, but the climax is pretty boring, the melody is very repetetive, also a 6.30 min track is really too long if you wanna make a hardstyle anthem.

@Yhimself why not invest some money on some hardware, i mean Virus TIs go cheap now, you can pick up TC PoCo cards cheap as anything... hardware gives songs an edge over the cpu software based tracks. i think your investment would pay itself off very quickly with your talent...dont stick to native software, get some synths...your nu-style is the best ive heard. dont listen to the bs that software vsts can sound just as good as hardware, ppl that say that are jealous they cant afford real synths
They do the EXACT same thing, the only advantage of Hardware over Software is less CPU load. and maybe easier control. saying that Hardware sounds better than Software is just stupid. it's been proven that DAW and Hardware/Software make no difference to the sound.
Good sounds are built from skill, not hardware. You don't just get a Virus and all of a sudden you can make the best synths ever! XD
@diesal911 Please look at Showteks, Noisecontrollers and Zatoxs' studios...U will see the prophet 08, andromeda, virus ti/indigo/tc powercore, waldorf blofeld, minimoog and a bunch of other hardware. This isnt to reduce their CPU load. This is bcoz they like FAT ANOLOG and/or FAT DIGITAL kicks, leads, pads, warm reverbs etc...u cant achieve the same fat sounds without dedicated hardware synths or effects. and its about sound quality.

Cause guess what, the myth that Hardware is "Warmer" or "Fatter" has been proven wrong.
Go learn some basic synth theory, It's the same shape layered over and over. there's no magic trick on Hardware which adds thickness, Warmth comes from knowing how synths work.
The pros have so much Hardware because of the CPU load. Any pro knows that they can get the same sound out of software or hardware. it's just personal preference of the UI.
@diesal911 the waveforms between softynths and dedicated dsp synths are identical. but when u start stacking waveforms, detuning, adding effects etc, the softsynths struggle and sound rubbish. dedicated hardware can produce much higher quality effects and sounds. these days, as computers get better, they can process better effects and sounds. but i think that hardware will always stay ahead of the game. and analog synths do indeed sound fat and warmer.
@thestash16 You clearly have no idea what your on about, do some simple research, please, there's no dynamics in any part of a synth. They all do the same thing. the same way.
You say that "As computers get better" but do you realize that the limits of Software synths are only due to the programmers? Computers these days are more than capable of processing sounds at a better quality than that of hardware.
Do some research, your argument that analog is warmer is flawed and has been proven wrong.
@diesal911 have you tried comparing yourself? compare Showtek with Yhimself. yhimself is awesome, but compare a group that uses hardware like any of the big hs producers to Yhimself...you can hear the difference in sound quality.
@thestash16 Yeah, i've done the tests myself, i've A/B'd, and comparing Yhimself with showtek? the issue is in the mixdown, not the quality of the synths, they sound fine, but the mix is slightly muddy.
Like i said the difference you hear is all in your head, it's a placebo effect, and your the only one who hears that.
I honestly don't know why he didn't make it to top 10 and I did, he's way better than me and I admit that. But I guess Q-Dance didn't like your style or your melody wasn't anthemish enough for them or maybe because you have too many breaks, but you track is awesome. =)
Go listen to the Top 10, then come back and listen to this. This is another league! I don't know what Q-Dance is thinking.... Keep up the good work mate. You won't need them to succeed because it's obvious you have talent.

@Yhimself why not invest some money on some hardware, i mean Virus TIs go cheap now, you can pick up TC PoCo cards cheap as anything... hardware gives songs an edge over the cpu software based tracks. i think your investment would pay itself off very quickly with your talent...dont stick to native software, get some synths...your nu-style is the best ive heard. dont listen to the bs that software vsts can sound just as good as hardware, ppl that say that are jealous they cant afford real synths

They do the EXACT same thing, the only advantage of Hardware over Software is less CPU load. and maybe easier control. saying that Hardware sounds better than Software is just stupid. it's been proven that DAW and Hardware/Software make no difference to the sound.
Good sounds are built from skill, not hardware. You don't just get a Virus and all of a sudden you can make the best synths ever! XD

@diesal911 Please look at Showteks, Noisecontrollers and Zatoxs' studios...U will see the prophet 08, andromeda, virus ti/indigo/tc powercore, waldorf blofeld, minimoog and a bunch of other hardware. This isnt to reduce their CPU load. This is bcoz they like FAT ANOLOG and/or FAT DIGITAL kicks, leads, pads, warm reverbs etc...u cant achieve the same fat sounds without dedicated hardware synths or effects. and its about sound quality.

Cause guess what, the myth that Hardware is "Warmer" or "Fatter" has been proven wrong.
Go learn some basic synth theory, It's the same shape layered over and over. there's no magic trick on Hardware which adds thickness, Warmth comes from knowing how synths work.
The pros have so much Hardware because of the CPU load. Any pro knows that they can get the same sound out of software or hardware. it's just personal preference of the UI.

@diesal911 the waveforms between softynths and dedicated dsp synths are identical. but when u start stacking waveforms, detuning, adding effects etc, the softsynths struggle and sound rubbish. dedicated hardware can produce much higher quality effects and sounds. these days, as computers get better, they can process better effects and sounds. but i think that hardware will always stay ahead of the game. and analog synths do indeed sound fat and warmer.

@thestash16 You clearly have no idea what your on about, do some simple research, please, there's no dynamics in any part of a synth. They all do the same thing. the same way.
You say that "As computers get better" but do you realize that the limits of Software synths are only due to the programmers? Computers these days are more than capable of processing sounds at a better quality than that of hardware.
Do some research, your argument that analog is warmer is flawed and has been proven wrong.

@diesal911 have you tried comparing yourself? compare Showtek with Yhimself. yhimself is awesome, but compare a group that uses hardware like any of the big hs producers to Yhimself...you can hear the difference in sound quality.

@thestash16 Yeah, i've done the tests myself, i've A/B'd, and comparing Yhimself with showtek? the issue is in the mixdown, not the quality of the synths, they sound fine, but the mix is slightly muddy.
Like i said the difference you hear is all in your head, it's a placebo effect, and your the only one who hears that.

I honestly don't know why he didn't make it to top 10 and I did, he's way better than me and I admit that. But I guess Q-Dance didn't like your style or your melody wasn't anthemish enough for them or maybe because you have too many breaks, but you track is awesome. =)
