I think referring to citizens questioning their officials in a pointed way as a mob is wrong. The reason the community got so angry was because they were completely left out of the information loop and they are paying for the library. The process used in this representative democracy was far from open.
@susansteinmann7 I agree. And, we're community servants. And, we want to find workable alternatives. In my opinion, everything went perfectly because our erred formulation & presentation of the plan inadvertently got everyone's attention to understand that we need to do something and need support for what the community asks. Unfortunately, history tells us that what we say we want is different from for what we are willing to pay. The new construction project vote demonstrated that clearly.
