Now as with 20 years ago, when I first saw this vid, I TOTALLY wish I could've beamed into the body of her co-star in this vid, so that I could kiss and snuggle up with her. Such a shame this single and the album never did anything for her. It should've put her on the map as a solo artist in a BIG WAY! But I guess all the world really wanted at that time was Mariah, so it flopped. Shame :-(

@klepetar That's not quite true about pop music dying in the wake of grunge in the early 90's; Although Grunge/Alternative DID come to be at the Forefront of popular music at the time, there were still plenty of straight pop successes, whether we liked them or NOT! Most notably Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Vanessa Williams, Whitney Houston, Boyz II Men, etc. But Susannah Hoffs was head and shoulders above all of them, and deserved MONSTER platinum solo success after The Bangles.

The business went corrupt, and after a while all that was offered is fraud. Which is why it doesn't sell. The winning combination is a good tune and proper marketing. The trouble is that quality music and a corrupt business are two opposite worlds. Artists require marketing expertise to compete with disposable trash in terms of media manipulation.

The hard hitting drums and tight sound effects were a progression in musical production. It's been used ever since that time. I don't think it needed finger snaps or something. This production works for this song. However, the album offers plenty of alternative productions.
