"Is this your progress? Is this the shit that's supposed to KNOCK OUR SOCKS OFF? I wanna know if you're doin' something that's gonna get us out of this deep shit we're in... or if you're all in there just jerking each other off.."
this song is terrible, but the rest of the score for day of the dead is brilliant and sorely underrated. one of the greats, just like the film it's in.
Always liked this movie but hated running zombies in the DOTD remake. It's just giving them too much power and making it easy to get caught and killed whereas just having thousands of lumbering, hungry dead shuffling about is much more effective and terrifying. The idea is quite enjoyable as a goof in movies like Return of the Living Dead and Zombie Land.
Have you seen Nightmare City (a.k.a. City of the Walking Dead)? from 1980 it's an Italian-Spanish-Mexican Sci-fi action horror movie that featured the first fast moving zombies and of course they can drive cars and use weapons, even 1985's Lifeforce and The Stuff had zombies that ran.
That is my favorite Romero movie. I really like all of his movies but Day of the Dead exceeded them all in my opinion. And by the way i think Lori Cardille is very pretty.
i love the movie remero and savini at their best should i get married i want this song for my slow dance at my wedding ifi were not a coward to commitment.
Anyone thinks this movie is the grossest horror movie of the 80's? i saw this when i was 17 in 1998 on video after being impressed with the original Night of the Living Dead and Dawn of the Dead when i was 16 in 1997 and this one made me puke in a good way after eating.
oh yeah.they seemed to be in a much more desperate situation than in dawn.i loved the breakdown of they're little community underground, because of power mad soldiers, shortage of suppliesand growing tensions.they were facing death, amongst eachother and amongst the zombies.i do love dawn aswell.
I liked Savini's remake. It wasn't as good as the original but it was still a good movie. I didn't like the 2004 remake. Running zombies just don't do it for me ( except in Left 4 Dead). It didn't have the same feel to it as Romeros. Romeros had some much more to offer. The thing that I love the most is the cheerful music constantly playing while hell is breaking loose.
Have you seen "Return of the Living Dead", "Lifeforce", "Nightmare City" and "The Stuff"? all those old school classics had fast moving zombies before Dawn of the Dead 2004's, watch them.
You aware the zombies ran in Return of the Living Dead? they also spoke like regular people, also drove cars, think like us, and even go in packs like football players.
Do you think films like "Hostel", "Maniac", "Driller Killer", "Devil's Rejects", "Inside" and "New York Ripper" or even Fulci's movies are this brutal as this movie?
Of course.....its all pretty much on the same level, although I would say Hostel or Devils Rejects has WAY more gore then this movie, , and remakes SUCK! Remakes bring absolutely nothing to the table, they are unoriginal garbage intended to entertain the masses of idiots who dont know what good movies are anymore.
have you seen the classic 80's remakes like "The Thing" from John Carpenter, "Invasion of the Body Snatchers", "The Fly" with Jeff Goldblum and David Cronenberg and The Blob with Kevin Dillion, you should watch these. What do you think of Neo-horror classics like "Scream", "Hostel", "Saw", "House of 1000 Corpses" and "Devil's Rejects" or "Hills Have Eyes"?
What do you think of these remakes? The Thing, The Blob, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, The Hills Have Eyes, Halloween, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, My Bloody Valentine 3D, Friday The 13th, and King Kong 2005?
I've seen the remake of the blob but I haven't seen the original one so I can't really judge it although from what I saw, it was pretty lame. I personally liked Rob Zombies remake of halloween. I liked the new take on in but it definitely isn't as good as John Carpenters version. I liked both versions of the texas chainsaw massacre. I thought my bloody valentine 3D was a huge waste of time. I'm on the fence about the friday the 13th remake and I loved both King Kongs.
whats the first track played at the start when the woman is standing in a deserted street? it has sampling of some voice crying 'where are you' or something like that.
best zombie film of all time, i be straight withe very1 i seen then all fulcio, romero, resident evil, u cant compare them to thissss. no chance. Romero is the king of Zombie movies
I love this tune. Remember when I saw this movie in the early years of Internet, I was looking all over for an import of the ost(did you download this?).
Nice montage, aswell. Nice and clean enough to show your faint-hearted relatives who think zombie movies are all splatter & gore dpt. ;)
I'll admit it didn't come out very well! I don't dislike NOTLD (1968), it's just that I don't watch it much and I shouldn't have included Return of the living dead 2! Other than that it's just a personal opinion. It's more a countdown in the order of which would be my last-first choice to watch if I felt like it!!! A long weekend zombie viewing if you like!!!
My top 10 Zombie movie countdown: 10) Night of the living dead (1968) (Didn't like it!) 9) Return of the living dead: Part 2 (Funny as hell, but that's all!) 8) Dawn of the dead (2002) (It wasn't brilliant!) 7) Undead 6) Shaun of the dead (I like funny, but not with my horror!) 5) Resident evil: Apocalypse (I liked it!) 4) Dawn of the dead/Zombie (1978) 3) Night of the living dead (1990) (Better than the original!) 2) Land of the dead 1) Day of the dead (1985)
This song and movie just does it for me. There is some magical about the way it's composed and the feeling I get when I hear this wonderful music. Day of the Dead is the greatest zombie film of all time. The music just puts me in this amazing state of happiness and hope.
There's just something about this song that makes me feel like I was there. You feel this deep meaning and loss of hope and love and all of these different emotions and this is why I love this song. Romero is a genious.
