Actualy this guitar was very popular when it was built. It was very well made and should not even be mentioned in the same sentence as tiesco. As a mater of fact Elvis Presley played this same guitar in the 1968 tv special "Elvis".
Hagstroms are not extreamly high eng guitars, but clean ones go for around $900.00
Elvis played a Viking II cherry red, theres a great website dedicated to elvis guitars on the internet it was owned by Al Casey a great musician. I have almost completed building a copy, hopefully be able to try it out in the next few weeks, and compare it to this great sounding guitar and playing.
Indeed. thanks. you won`t get that sound out of a new chinese one.. they`re really different: laminated maple body (mine is birch), humbucker (mine got some p-90ish singlecoils..)
but there is a new reissu out now: the viking IIP.. never played this.
@CheapMinor I'm looking at a very similar (in appearance) Hagstrom... all i know is that it was made in the 60s (so I'm guessing in Sweden)... it has the fender style head with the tuning pegs all on one side. The pickups look identical to the ones in your (old) guitar in this video... Can I expect it to sound as awesome as this guitar? You've got exactly the sound I want goin on in this video...
love the sound !

these guitars are terrible... A student of mine had one... very cheep feel to it.. and the body isnt even bound inside.. it's a nice decoration..

Cool! This one has the fender-style six-in-a-line headstock!
There's something so cool to me about a six-in-a-line headstock on a hollowbody, e.g. a Fender Coronado. Cool guitar, very cool.

That's got to be one of the nicest sounding guitars I've ever heard. Do the new Chinese made ones sound as good?
