We have over a dozen Unimog at our shop and this Unimog is definitely one of the nicest for offroading as well as around town driving. It is still a Unimog.

Jason...What exactly did you do for Magpul Industries? Did you do the bodywork? Or was it already done? Did your shop do all the design for the bumpers/tanks? I believe that is what the people want to know? Do you fabricate bodies such as this in-house? What turbo are you using? I work with both kinds of turbos and changing a non-waste gated turbos to a waste-gated turbo allthough seemingly different is not that difficult and even easier for diesel. It does sound great thogh.

You can do what most people do and that is cut up two doka cabs and marry them together. The easiest but again...Cabs such as these are rare already so it should be considered a shame to do so. The best way is to fab up the doors, the extensions in the body and roof. This ensures the best fabrication and quality in the right hands. If your needing help in this give me a call...I'd be glad to help out in your projects.

The spare is lowered w/ an electric winch. This allows it to be dropped/raised without the engine running. I'm pretty sure not just any shop would be able to execute a build like this. There really is a lot of thought into not only aesthetics ,but a truly functional design that is very bullet proof.

No one has actually built a functioning high horse power waste gated turbocharged 406/416 to date other than this that Im aware of.

By the way it is a 406, 21" shorter wheelbase!

That would be a 416. A 406 is a shorter wheelbase. Its a nice vehicle from a video stand point...but the basic vehicle is the same as a std. Mog. A person in any garage could do the same work meaning bumpers, spare tire rack, gas tanks...door handles....ect. Nice Mog...and Jay does have the contacts with Magpul for that he is lucky. As far as changing a 416 Mog, or a 406 Mog into a 4 door or 6 door mog...Well that is pretty easy.

Having owned the newer model Unimogs I'll testify that they have a VERY low center of gravity due to placing the engine and tranny between the frame rails... Check out other mog videos on the net to see how extreme the can go... Roll overs are hard to do ;)
