Fantastic this is what Avant Garde Jazz should be
The Complete Random notes is actually terrible to listen to in my opinion, and I think unlike most music avant garde jazz is the hardist because it's not playing any random note you need to chose which exact note you need to play to make it sound right
@TheKeswickGallagher You hit the nail on the head. That's how I often describe Robert Fripp's guitar solos (when he's not just using diminished scales). He has a full awareness and knowledge of every note that is acceptable to play in relation to the chord progressions... and then avoids them like he's navigating a mine field.
Reason why people cannot appreciate free form jazz, or avant garde is because as humans we are a "structure" type of people. We don't like anything outside of social structure. Like whenever someone comes along and challenges the idea of religion most people can't accept it because we are use to structure. I liked it although it isn't my fav form of jazz, it is none the less innovative and has integrity as its own form of the genre.
Like the wail al la Keith Jarrett in the middle :-o
No but seriously, it not my kind of music but I watched it to the end to see what happened in it. It was ok, interesting and I can appreciate it requires talent especially in the faster bits. It didn't always work when you went inside the piano I thought.
This Is AMAZING!!!!!

Not a surprise that not many people have watched this as many good sounds in the limitless world of Avant Garde and experimental are overlooked.
