I saw this movie when I was 9 years old and I am very surprise that now, as an adult, I think the same things about the movie: Great movie and I like the ending. But, for me, the ending was good, they survived and there is no more pods. The ending is something simbolical, but for me, the good things won.
it's time for some payback for the human race, let these alien pod people know that they've knock on the wrong door in the wrong neighbohood and pick the wrong fucking planet.
Sorry Pod People but this is our planet first and we would like to keep things the way they are..we're not too crazy about having them taking over our bodys in our sleep.
this may not be the best, not by a long shot. but it's the most brutal of the bunch. ya got a doc offing himself when he's surrounded, you got a 6 year old being thrown off a dam helicopter.
I heard about this movie, I must say it was much better then I thought it would be. However the 1978 version with Donald Sutherland and Brooke Adams is by far the best version and a must see, a very frightening movie. In the original novel by Jack Finney in 1954, he stated that the pod people were incapable of sexual reproduction and only had a lifespan of 5 years. Thus if unstopped, they will quickly turn Earth into a dead planet and would be forced to move on to the next world.
The pod leader was wrong. Someone believed them. Too bad the Atlanta base was infected. This time the heroes had experience with the pods. They are better prepared.
The main thing for me is no one would believe them, so the only thing waiting for our two hero's is 2 straight jackets and two padded rooms!!!...good film, 1978 version is a classic!
Yesss, I thought I'll never knew what version this was (I saw this loooong ago and on different language). Best ending eve'! The uncertainity is much more frightening then anything.
At least the ending is ambiguous, rather than that horridly sweet ending from the Nicole Kidman version. I'm surprised that one didn't end with a bunch of bald-headed dykes all chanting "USA! USA! USA!"
I much prefer the unambiguously dark endings of the first two, particularly the 1978 remake with Donald Sutherland, one of the very best film remakes of all time.
don't let a single son-of-apod alive =D> the big difference from the other versions is that this time they really showed them, blowed them sky high nad its somehow a happy ending, at that landing dude coulded been or not a pod but hwo cares I just loved that they killed most of them and cancelled a full scale invasion
the thing that i dont understand is that how did the pods know that they could get us in our sleep because we cant stay awake forever because they were never on our planet. good movie anyway =)
Excellent movie. Thanks for the post. Love the 58, 78 and 93 versions of this movie. The Invasion however is beyond bad......It's the Plan 9 from Outer Space of the series.
7:33 mixed in DOLBY STEREO SR thou it only shows a DOLBY STEREO logo it was mixed using DOLBY SR type. Best analogue sound you can hear at the time and still to this day.
Well that's the kicker. They leave you with an ambiguous ending and it's up to you to decide if it's a happy one or if our heroes better get themselves a shovel
SO KNOW YOU KNOW what the middle east feels about America

Where you gonna go? Where you gonna run? Where you gonna hide? Nowhere.
Wrong.
The correct answer that's shown in the end of this movie is...
who's running?

Where you gonna go? Where you gonna run? Where you gonna hide? Nowhere. Because there's no one... like you... left.

A really nice movie. Scary, yet there seems to be a hidden meaning in all those
body snatchers movies doen't it? It is natural that the idea of losing one's self is frightening. and even more so in an invasion like fashion.
None theless: good movie and thanks for the upload!
