  • ANSWER PLEASE

  • Umm.... does the X52 pro work on PS3

  • I'm flying quite much in FS9 as I'm a serious simmer, flying with the TM Hotas Cougar. I have also been trying the Saitek X52 with blue lights. The first thing I noticed was how unstable it was, no heavy feeling at all when moving the joystick and the throttle felt very light weight. When I came back to TM Hotas Cougar I really felt the quality. Joystick and throttle made of metaland both really heavy which I like, miss the blue lights and the screen on the X52 though.

  • so does anyone have any idea why the pinkie trigger is greyed out and i cannot map it?

  • keyboard connector..... facepalm

    its a fucking PS/2!

  • @ra30r I couldn't remember what It was called at the time!

  • @Ollie930 Does the X52 work on ps3

  • @JamesRichardBaldi For fuck sake, why can't you be patient like everyone else? I don't spend 23 out of 24 hours a day on YouTube. In answer to your question, I'm not sure. Try using a Website called "Google".

  • @ra30r Try decaf :T

  • DUDE, WHY ARE YOU PLAYING FS2004? GO PLAY FALCON 4 BMS!

  • I have my X52(not pro, want to upgrade really soon) been having it for 3 years, still works AMAZING

  • hello!, Nice video. I have an little question. Can i use this joystick with x-plane?

  • The spinners adjust your dead zones zero them out on your screen that you can change options.

  • Hey Check out proflightsims(dot)org

  • after watching that other retard destroy his x52 because of repeated issues, ive gotta ask; How has the product integrity held up? Has is broken in any way over the years?

  • @117zoomzoom Well its been ok! Still using it, however I've had to set Deadzones because the mechanism has shifited inside and even with stick centered, its not saying its centered on the PC.

  • @Ollie930 i think you just have to recalibrate it on the computer and itll be fine :)

  • @117zoomzoom this saitek, x52+x52pro is WORSE CRAP i have ever gave my money for. Just buy it, you'll realize it soon after. If anyone would like to discuss it or deny my states, just make my day

  • @GreatRedTiger Can you recommend an alternative joystick + throttle for fsx use? thanks.

  • @bcwlim I personaly didn't try it, specially because I just got used to twist rudder function and I can't use foot rudder due to lack of the space of the place I play IL2, but guys says CH products are the best money can buy...

  • @117zoomzoom take note that he destroys x52 not x52 pro

  • @117zoomzoom I've had my Saitek X52 (Not Pro, it's on the way though!) for about 4-5 years now, it has not failed me at all.

  • I was wondering if anyone knows if saitek products work with Linux and if anyone knows of any other company whos products do work with Linux.

  • The connectors going in to the controllers are called DIN cables.

  • can anyone please tell me is the controller forcefeed back this is very important

  • @HEAVYGUNZ05 No its not

  • Is it forcefeed back with this controller

  • @HEAVYGUNZ05 No!

  • @Ollie930 My logitech force extreme 3D PRO went out on me last summer do you know if any one of these type of controllers are forcefeed back. Other than those types whats the point in playing just for me that is thanx.

  • @HEAVYGUNZ05 The only newer one I can think of is the Logitech G940. That has Force Feedback

  • @Ollie930 Thanx about to look it up now very helpful.

  • Is it force feedback in the stick?

  • @Mappzor Not on this controller

  • Comment removed

  • Hey was that an alienware computer? cuz it looked like it.

  • Comment removed

  • @WoyxProshots Dell XPS.

  • chill the fuck down you sound like your gonna star crying dam

  • @basshuter2007 WTF you on about?

  • More WILL THAT WORK ON THE PLANE, WHICH HAVE GOT MORE THAN 1 ENGINE, LIKE 2 OR 4 ENGINES, WILL IT WORK?

  • @a44977 Yes it will

  • @bernar97 Depends if yours really that bothered about using the right controls for which aircraft. I personally have grown up using joysticks, you can fly the aircraft just aswell with a joysticks opposed to a yoke..

  • how much better is this than the cyborg x?

  • @cacneaunit6 I've never used the Cyborg, so I'm not sure?..

  • Comment removed

  • LOL, watch at minute 3:38-3:41 and you'll see the clutch button flickering while the throttle is moved!:P

Lamish Saitek with their fucking interconnective wiring, cause that's the problem for flickering and stuff...! I've already got used to mine on that!

  • @Maverickf22flyer Yep it does that ever since I've had it. I wanted to send it back, but it was taking that long to get through to Saitek and sort the warranty out I just didn't bother in the end...

Everything else works fine though, kind good to know its just not me that has the problem :/

  • @Ollie930 Saitek support is nonexistent. If you have a problem, you're on your own.

  • you think its well woth the money but you dont know how much it costs?? lol :L

  • Were you nervous during this video because i found your voice abit nervous?

  • Its been a great joystick and throttle for three years but Im replacing mine with the Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog a replica of the A-10C aircraft controls.

  • joystick is great, but throttle is JUNK!! internal springs break, and then you can't advance the throttle!

  • @PhatFarm60 I would have said its the other way around?

  • @Ollie930 It would seem so wouldn't it? But no, never had a problem at all with the joystick.. but the throttle I had to open up and remove the "notching" mechanism (the stops at AB and reverse thrust) to get it working good again.

  • @PhatFarm60 Reverse Thrust? How to get that?

  • @Ollie930 Oh my bad, I keep forgetting it lacks reverse by default. I setup an addon program called FSUIPC, that runs inside FSX, to do reverse thrust.

  • @PhatFarm60 Yeah ive got the full FSUIPC version too, never needed reverse on the throttle though, I just use the D button

  • The reason why it doesnt have reverse thrust is because it is used for fighter or bomber aircraft( usually they dont have reverse thrust), thats why.

  • Can you shoot a video of you flying using the x52 pro

  • @MrWallmart101 Do you really need it?

  • I would recommend the Logitech G940(I got one by myself, and its real good ;)) but for a Saitek joystick i would recommend the X65f... its one problem with it and that is that the joystick is EXPENSIV!!! 400$

  • I got Saitek X52 pro and my profile editor does not work, can some1 please help me?

  • Does the joystick twist for rudder control?

I have a logitech attack 3, and I thought all joysticks were restricted to rolling into a turn. My birthday is in February, and I was hoping to bug my parents into getting one for me. Would you recommend this? Or should I get a cheaper one?

    Cheers - James.

  • @Puggy8D James, I do recommed this stick however like you said it is prone to wear. I'm going to have to replace mine within the next 6-8 months. If you can afford it I would go for the new Logitech G940. Its Gearless, so it doesn't wear down. Plus its got rudder pedals and Force Feedback ;)

    Cheers

    Ollie

  • @Ollie930 Thanks a bunch for your help!

  • @Ollie930 how much do you think will cost if I get a yoke, rudder pedal and instrument panel all together....? Or does this thing do all the job...? P.S. You've got a cool English accent dude...

  • @Ollie930 What do you mean with "gearless"? The Saitek has no FFB, and it shouldn't wear out that quickly at all, since it uses Hall effect sensors in the main Joystick axes. Only the other axes and knobs have potentiometers and alike.

  • @Ollie930 Oh and I also have read quite bad things about problems with the FFB on the G940. So it's also still far from golden...

  • @kondadotm Yep, I've heard that some people have FFB problems, however the G940 Is a much more Polished and FInished HOTAS, and it includes rudder pedals. Yes the light is flickering a little bit due to dodgy connection, however it still works fine, it seems only mine that does it but I'm not bothered. The X52 uses springs and gears to move the stick and throttle, whereas the G940 uses bearings which are smoother and last much much longer ;)

  • @Ollie930 I'm not 100% percent sure, but AFAIK the X52 has Hall effect sensors as I said before (although I can't see one of my posts -- weird YouTube things happening). So there is actually zero wear out, since there simply is no friction. So there are not any gears. And as for the springs, the only springs should be those two which put the stick back in position (which the G940 must have to, or else it wouldn't center anyway)

  • as far as comfort and precision and ultra smoothness the microsoft sidewinder force feedback pro has still not been exceeded. im talking about the original sidewinder force feedback from 1998. that is the best joystick of all time. ITs the only joystick where you can adjust the stiffness of the stick. The saitek is uncomfotable to hold but the sidewinder is super ergonomics.

  • X-52PRO drivers causes blue screens in Vista if the USB is removed n reattached quickly.

  • Great vid

  • niiiiiiiiiiiiiice

  • does this work with ww2 aircraft like...plane with propelers not jet engines? i play il2 sturmovik 1946

  • @ABZ6381 yeah it will work fine with IL2 S 1946

  • @ABZ6381

Hi ABZ. I wouldn't get this for IL-2. I've been flying IL-2 for nine years since the original IL-2 2001 Demo in 2001 August. If I were you I would get the CH stick and throttle set. It's a lot tougher and a better product. You do a lot more violent flying with IL-2 than Microsoft Flight Sim.

  • @IIJG27Rich thank you lol ive ben trying to geet the answer to my question for lke a month lol

  • @ABZ6381

I hoped I helped you. The best thing to get is the CH Hotas package with the rudder pedals included. You will need those because the stick is non twisting stick.

  • does this work with ww2 aircraft like...plane with propelers not jet engines?

  • whats better logitech g940 or this i really dont know price is about same with rudder pedals but logitech have force feedback whats cool and saitek have better buttons maybe idk please reply

  • @IIIgGeeksIII from what ive seen, the G940 is 200 euro more expensive

  • @kvbrock82 becouse g940 includes rudder pedals and have force feedback

i live in slovakia this is how we have it:

    g940=250 euro

    x52 pro=125 euro

    saitek rud. pedals=100 euro

  • Nice ! I think I am going to buy it, but I need to know if it works on windows 7 ore windows vista?plzz answer mee :))

  • is the quality good ?

  • I found that the joystick does not work well with flight simulator x. After months of fustration I tore handel off the stick, and tried to destroy it completely. Suprisingly it is built rather durable. Nearly was impossible to break the slider. I would recomend sticking with a simple joystick to anyone looking to purchase this one.

  • igot mine today and it will be there in 1-3 days cant wait. stay tuned for review. I hope my review is as good as yours. Because i think my camera mic is broken.

    great video !!!

  • you made this video on my B-day

  • I've used it at a friends house, and its amazing!!!

  • @HiScoreKing Yep sure is!

  • do it have force feedback?

please answer i'm gonna buy it

  • @MikaelTheJoker No it doesn't if you want Force Feedback get the Logitech G940.

  • How wide is the base of each controller?

  • @Kroltz Not massive 15-20CM or so?

  • I'm possibly getting one of those joysticks, but the base of that joystick gives me a little reason to think: The size of the base and those suction cups on the underneath of it don't look really impressive for me. So, how stable is the base? Does it move or sway while playing and if it does, is the movement disturbing? Can someone help me with these questions? ...and pardon my english :D

  • @Vokkius I don't even bother with the suction cups it never moves for me, shes really nice and stable.

  • i have a problem: ever when i start the profile manager, the profile manager shut down. can someone help me? i have windows 7 32

  • i got the logitech g940 4 xmas its like 300 euro and i havent used it since its not great way to sensetive and the force feedback is a bit anoyin

  • Very nice review. At the moment I own a SpeedLink Black Widow joystick and I'm thinking of getting the Saitek X52.

  • $80 walmart retail

I'm so getting it since I'm getting FSX. So this joystick will be my first ever. :D

  • @MrObliviously Will be money well spent

  • if anybody doesnt have a 100 bucks for this which is pretty cool get a logitech attack 3 i have one its very awsome 2 years operating

  • @pkoppes777 Well if you dont have 100 Dollars too, you might aswell buy the Logitech Freedom 2.4, I had it for 3 years!

  • I've been doing extensive research on the standard X52 and the Pro version. I have an Alienware with Windows 7 64-Bit I keep reading so much about driver and axis problems with the standard X52. Can anyone give me any advice at all on Windows 7 64-Bit Compatability with X52 Standard and Pro? Is the Pro More Bug Free?

  • @LegendaryGoldDragon I think at the moment 64Bit Support is a bit sketchy. I think the X52 Pro Axis's work fine with 64BIT because my friends uses it on 64Bit. I think its just the X52 Pro MFD Screen doesn't work.

  • @Ollie930 Wow thanks a lot Ollie, thats very helpful. I'm primarily interested in the X52 Series for X3-R/TC Games, also I've been watching a twitch based fast paced space MMO called Black Prophecy.

  • @LegendaryGoldDragon Sounds cool! :D

  • Of all the videos I watched of this, NONE of them tested it. >:l I dislike you... but like the reviewe. :D

  • @KyleLee408 How can you dislike me if you've never met me?

  • Hotas Cougar:

Perfect Replica of the US Air Force F-16, The most realistic flight stick on the market, Full metal controller, co-engineered in collaboration with US Air Force, Used by US Air Force for pilot training a reference in the aircraft sector.

Endorsed by the Virtual Thunderbirds in the U.S.

Endorsed by the Russian Knights in Russia.

Response time 8 x faster than traditional USB plugs.

The Saitek is a entry level contoller or we can call him a toy.

    Poitless?

  • @103959770979 Well done, you managed to copy that off the internet. X52 is half the price, one of the reasons why its better value for money!

  • @103959770979 the cougar is based of an old f-16 stick , still i prefer TM over Saitek

  • @lucasguillen but is it worth the extra money?

  • @Ollie930 depends on what your playing, but i wouldnt get any of those and will wait for the Thrustmaster HOTAS warthog ;)

and no , it isnt worth the extra money

  • @lucasguillen So why do you buy it, if its not worth the extra money?

  • The Hotas Cougar is better.

  • @103959770979 Perhaps it is, but its almost £100 more than the X52, so its not really worth the money. Plus the X52 looks much better. Next time when you post comments like that please give a reason. Not just a pointless comment which doesn't really mean anything.

  • I brought it a few days ago on amazon for £110 and it will come on monday (tommorow). Really can't wait

  • @dymproductions You wont be dissapointed..

  • does it have the force feedback?

  • @ghostvillage1 Negative :(

  • Hey, will this joystick work with FSX?

  • @TheCYYZspotter I mean the Saitek X52 not the Saitek X52 Pro.

  • @TheCYYZspotter Yes it will, however I dont think the MFD screen functions the same as the X52 Pro does.

  • @TheCYYZspotter

Of course, that's what it was meant for in the first time

  • does the Saitek x52 work on windows 7

  • @airbus124 I'm running Windows 7 and its works perfectly, better than Vista!

  • @Ollie930 Ok thanks alot for replying

  • mine dosent work. heres the problem. My stick dosent lite up except till its pluged in then it shuts off but still says there is power please help

  • ho do u program the MFD

  • @itechwizzz follow the instructions on the link in the description. Only works for FS2004 with either 32BIT XP/Vista/W7

  • hey!! nice review! i like it! i have a question does the joystick rumble when u land or something else happens?

  • @itechwizzz No unfortunately it doesn't have Force Feedback (FFB)

  • @Ollie930 thats sad!! anyway i am getting one for my b-day april 21st!!!!! ur review was nice it helped me make my decision on wich one to get between x52 and x52 pro

  • @itechwizzz Thanks for the comments, appreciate it ;)

  • @Ollie930 You shuld think of getting the Logitech G940

  • @WwTKVwW Yeah maybe, however in the current economic climate, Logitech products are very overpriced. All my Gaming controllers are logitech. Keyboard, Mouse, Webcam, Logtiech G25 Racing wheel ect

  • @Ollie930 you'r right about the prices so we just have to deal with it ;D Im getting my g940 this friday(Hopefully tomorrow depending on the post company) so I will post a unboxing and review video of it if your interested ;D

  • @WwTKVwW Defo ;)

  • This is awesome! Thanks Ollie, i'm going to go out and get one asap.

  • @T4HAS Appreciate the comment ;)

  • tooo slow

  • @zonavelha Slow?

  • get to the point , your munbling

  • @zonavelha Well I cant please everyone..

  • Cheers Ollie. Have you used this X52 Pro much since this video?

    Any minuses?

    Thanks mate.

  • @ArfurSchrunkunpecker Hi Mate, yes I've used it a hell of alot since last august. Using it right now actually I'm doing a 13 houl haul!

No problems to report, only small thing I found is perhaps a dodgy connection on one of the backlit LED buttons, when I move the throttle up and down it dims, then goes bright again. All the other buttons of fine though, its only a minor problem!

I would really recommend this stick though ;)

  • @Ollie930 Thanks a lot. Take Care mate.

  • can u use it the xbox 360

  • @SS4Actionman No you cant, wish I could though..

  • @dslcobra Can we chill "THE FUCK" out please? You dont know him, he doesn't know you. Its the internet!

  • Rofl... right, Viperjet pilot, go ask your mom if you could stay up a bit longer to learn some proper rules of behaviour.

Calling me an asshole was the proof I needed... ;)

  • Sure there are. Some of them are my friends. I don't think, flying is a miracle. I just think, that it was completely unnecessary, to state, that you're a Viperjet pilot as a comment on "should the X52 Pro feature Force-Feedback". Especially, when you give no proof at all. And even if there was proof, how would it affect your ability to judge, if the Joystick should have force feedback?

Now please argue, or go on saying you're a Raptor pilot, who eats little noobs like me for breakfast. ;)

  • It's really strange... I know many ordinary pilots in the real world. And I am about to become one myself... flying a cessna can be lots of fun. But on the internet you only meet Viperjet or F18 Pilots... it really seems, these super heros have a lot of free time to brag on the net, how great they are in RL... -_- Proove, that you're the Robbie Williams of all civil pilots... don't only type it here. That only makes you look weak.

  • And why exactly is that a big mistake? The joystick market is dead, repeat slowly d-e-a-d. The ONLY market still existing is that of simulations. In a simulation (no, not in a game as you call it), force feedback is absolutely not needed and would hinder more than it would add.

And what is that last sentence? Do you want to proove yourself more qualified than I am for judging on a joystick with that? Dude, I am really sorry, but this is the internet. You could also be Bon Jovi... Who cares?

  • This Joystick is not about arcade features. Force Feedback in a simulation is not what Saitek wants to reach with this product.

  • @dslcobra I completely agree ;)

  • @Ollie930 hi can one obtain flight hours through pc flight simulators? if so which simulator and what controller? it is really important for me to know because i was thinking of buying one for my little brother who wants to be a pilot and just graduated form high school.

  • @cheyamil, Hi pal, You cannot obtain real world flight hours obviously, however there are different pieces of software that you can log your hours inside Flight Simulator ;)

  • why is there two different x52s?

  • @klkyomama Not entirely sure, I dont own the other one.

  • @klkyomama One is the older "standard" model (it's silver with blue lighting). It's cheaper, but I've heard it's ok. Folks say the X52 pro is physically sturdier with more accurate control (twice the movement sensors) and a couple other minor improvements.

  • ever had any problems with the controles

  • No pal, no problems ;)

  • nice video and i have one question is joystick moving left and right i mean to turn left or right while taxing in the airport.

  • @777VoRTeX777 yes mate it has a rudder rotate thing to turn the plane on the ground:)

  • nice review mate i have a st290 at the moment and i am saving up for x52 now can't wait, thanks for review!

  • @blackout1148 Thanks man, appreciate it ;)

  • @NikiDDawg I use FS9 and use another piece of software for the MFD, mine works perfectly.

  • What software do you use for the MFD?

  • @NikiDDawg Type "Blackswift X52" into google you will find it....
