It dosenèt take a smoker to throw a few cig butts around parks and playgrounds...you know that! Just like there are beer cans littering certain areas of certain park, cig butts can be tossed around by anyone just for kicks. I do believe wère losing freedom when it comes to the outdoors myself, like itès going too far!!! The butts are one thing but not being able to drink a beer &ésmoke on the beach is another. Mexico & most countries allow drinking beer on the beach but not in Cda & Y!
@cafe9802 I live in Vancouver Cda where this law is in effect but isnt enforced, neither is helmut law. Even outside certain restaurants theres cases of smoking The bus loop too has signs prohibiting smoking but smoking goes on untl they see Skytrain cops which walk around the loop once an hr. if that. We seem to be ahead of you when it comes to the beaches & we have plenty of them here under our cloudy skies, but the smokers are around as are dogs off their leash on the sandy beach.
