I don't think the tuning is the main culprit although it does play a role. We have covered this song in D standard and it doesn't seem to loose so much definition that it sucks right off the bat. I think the speed is the main thing here they can barely pick the right patterns and are reduced to quick single notes instead of the power chord version. Speed kills sometimes haha.

yeah i mean it's impressive, but unfortunately when their songs are played too fast they loose their power. still fuckin badass! highly underrated band, thrash legends!

More than speed It's about tunings. They started down tuning to D in 93, which is OK, but their songs from Arise down were originally played in E, therefore it looses definition.
