I feel your pain to a much greater extent. I had a spinal cord injury playing ice hockey on a day off and was fired the day after while I was still in the ICU. I am literally millions of dollars in debt even with insurance for part of that. I was a firefighter/EMT before my injury and am now on disability after a 2 yr fight. I may be psycho but I WOULD actually rather work and make my own money. There's no miracle fix for our country... and for the lazy SSI slob comments I only get $400/mo
i just slipped on wet grass today . i think i may have rolled it. but when i fell i could feel my pinkie toe being cought in my shoe and i could feel this like ripping in my foot. any way good movie and hope ur foot/ankle is getting better.
My hubby blew out his eardrum, and at the time he had no insurance. All the ER costs and such were enormous, but we got on a payment plan. We paid it back working very low income jobs, it was difficult, but we took responsibility and worked hard to fix the situation.
loves it! but just sad you cares about it because it happens to you, but it's still good, no matters when you started to fight , the important is the fight and your video is gorgeous
All Americans are entitled to free health care: all you have to do is to show up at an emergency room and comment identity fraud. I saw it on Fox News, so it's true. You also should not have been outside: the fact that you were not inside watching TV reveals you're a bad American. If Jesus wanted you to have health care, he would heal you himself.

You should be ashamed to take money from people. It was your responsibility to have insurance. I don't want to pay for your insurance. I work hard and I hope the presidents health care bill goes down like you on wet grass. NOT ONE MORE DIME FROM ME!
so it dont bother you that you have to pay for other peoples health care and your own also, and you end up waiting in line to get help if it was cancer
Thank god i live in Australia... i Just went through a year of Chemotherapy and radio therapy and it cost me $0.. i couldn't even amagin what i would have done if i lived in America.
I hear the same thing everyday from so many American's about Health insurance. This is SO unfair and there has to be something done so that American's will have health coverage, just like us Canadians do. It's just ludacris, the States is supposed to be so far along in everything, but in reality, they are so backwards it's unbelievable, just like this health care bit.. ugh.
It hurts me every time I hear of something like this... I'm glad that through these tough economic times those who can help others feel compassionate enough to do so, but for real... If this is the state of 47 million Americans it is time for a healthcare revival/reversal in our country. We are the wealthiest superpower in the world and millions of us are living in poverty, hunger, unemployment and in lack of healthcare. It's just sad and undefendable. Our government has got to do better now!
Don't you think people deserve better and should be supported before paying? I'm mean, come on! Sure, there would be taxes for the health care, but actually these taxes are needed to support ANYONE who is in need. This is not a fight between rich & poor people. I don't even understand why people are arguing for something that we should all have. This is about rights and equalities.
@ CureEgret Come on, this is a thing that is working in other countries like in France. Everybody is paying for EVERYBODY. You're thinking in a selfish way. I actually know that in the USA, if I have for example a car accident and that I'm really injured, they won't do anything unless someone pays. Do you think this is normal?
Yeah Thanks to Tegan & Sara for tweeting this video. If it weren't for they're concern for some of the many things going on around the world, I would've probably never seen this video. But it's sad and I am currrently one of these unfortunate people.
nice vid raime, clever way to pass the message! that really suck for you ankle tho. i'm totally with you for what you're saying in the video about healthcare and stuff in the US coz it's really crap over there. Im from france too as klill33260 and we can't complain compared to your situation...things will change...i hope it's gonna soon
I don't believe other people should have to pay for others medical bills - I believe they should be free. If our society didn't rely on money so much no one would be refused healthcare, because healthcare providers would provide it for the right reasons, because a person needs help, not because they need a paycheck. I think we should ban money altogether and go back to the bartering system. People should grow their own food or provide services to the provider in exchange for goods.
It seems so simple, yet there are endless complications that are bogging it down! I was employed but uninsured for three "walking-on-eggshells" years, knowing at any time I could go broke. I was lucky there was no wet grass!

So basically you're saying that even though you had people DONATE to you and you got great health care.. You think others should be FORCED to pay for your health care? If you managed to get $ for a broken ankle, why can't others for more serious things esp since gov't assistance already exists.. But I know, we should all suffer and pay for mediocre gov't care rather than be responsible for our OWN care.
CureEgret - nobody wants you to get government health care (unless you're a Veteran through the VA.) Hospitals and doctors are (and still will be) privately owned and operated. The current health care bill just provides subsidies for those who can't afford care and puts some regulations on the insurance industry to protect against their most egregious practices.
@CureEgret we pay taxes for lots of things that aren't as important than health care, this should be top priority. Stop acting like it's some kind of burden, what's good about money if you can't share it? I love paying taxes so long as the money goes to help others in need, like welfare or other government programs, Shame on you. GREEDY people disgust me.
