I had an awakening where I felt the silence and sacredness in everything, I noticed the ego rebounding but I didn't experience anything as what is described as a kundalini awakening, I wonder what my awakening was then?
@crisisofconsciousnes I'm sure there are many types of awakening which are experienced in many different ways. I don't personally see a need to name them, although in some cases it seems to help people to find common ground.
I went through 7 years of being blasted by light after experiencing an opening deep in prayer. Things settled down after I met my spiritual teacher and told her that I felt it was disruptive. The experience was catalyzed by great joy praying with the Bible. I still feel a sadness that I had to seek a teacher from the East because we Christians are ignorant about stages of contemplative unfoldment.
That initial opening was over 20 years ago. I feel for people goi
kundalini is really interesting. in eastern philosophy its considered a breakthrough and a grandeur journey into enlightenment whereas western science believes its mental illness and or seizures.
the experience described is not a kundalini awakening. it lasts for years and its like living in hell. i have spent the last two years in bed with unwanted psychic activity energy constantly surging through my body, it is a living hell not something that just happens one afternoon and then goes away. the energy explodes inside of you and takes years to ground you have to face all your fear along the way. if it happened to 13 year they would die the nervous system cannot handle KAE at 13 years
@TheJazzkat1 If you read the other comments you'll see that I've already addressed this type of thing. I've done several videos now on Kundalini and also we have posted resource links on our website, we've written articles about it too. I'm really sorry that you're suffering, but it doesn't invalidate my own experience or the experiences of many others.
@healerteam ive had it too. didnt have a clue what it was still in the process but its a lot easier now than the first year....was thrown to the floor when it began when my third eye opened and i blacked out and people mistaked it for a seizure. where really it was the begining of a conciousness shift..... felt the snake lash up my spine too...but in the end your only saying goodbye to learning and becoming a born teacher
@TheJazzkat1 kudilini awakening happens at different rates deppending on the spead of the persons learning of someones spiritual learning, its one of the first things to bea learnt abou tkundilini awakening. also there has been many accounts of spontanious kundilini awakening where tht person under goes the whole process instantaniously.
This guy is funny. The difficulty is for some, they end up going through this process without even choosing. I have been going through a "process" for about 15yrs now. I have lost count of how many times I have had spontanious "breakthroughs" and after a little while, usually a couple minutes, sometimes longer your back and the mind can and does increase resistance which then causes symptoms. I tend to go through a wave of 2 weeks significant peace, 2 weeks increased resistance.
@NinetiesYouth Any meditation which works for you is beneficial. I have no recommendations for specifically awakening the K. The potential dangers are that you'll have an awakening before your mind or body is ready to accept it, some will manifest various illnesses and discomforts as a defensive response. Watch my other videos, and it has been answered in comments and on our website under 'resources". Just have a good spiritual practice, be kind and compassionate and intend your own evolution.
she made a wrong conclusion: she says it's amazing that he was so young and not trying to make this happen, yet in the very beginning of the video Paul even says he was meditating to get to this point. So, I wouldn't say this happened to Paul unexpectedly..... if someone is working at her desk listening to music, and then all of a sudden over a short period of time it happens and that person was doing nothing to make it happen, had not been meditating, had notmediated for years previous. ok
@1010HannahBanana True, I wasn't just meditating randomly or for no particular reason but at that time I had never heard of Kundalini. I had heard of "enlightenment" and I think I wanted more of that. So it definitely is not as spontaneous as others may have had.
@darrenwthomas7 Let go, spend some time in nature.. relax. Love yourself first and foremost. Since I'm not in the same position, that's honestly what I'm feeling may help out. Are you in a city/work environment? Perhaps escaping out to nature, like said earlier, and just releasing.. not blocking it.. more beneficial if it can just go through. Love you, my friend!
I know exactly what you mean, but it will get better. When I first started experiencing it, I thought for sure that it was a haunting from a very sexual spirit, and it terrified me for months, even though I'm married with two children. I'm seeing auras around people now, and my awareness has gone through the roof. I still experience the strong vibrations, creepy sensations along my face and head, ringing, confusion, etc., but you will adapt to it. You will be stronger.
Had a similar experience a week ago. Felt this happy energy coming from my heart it was so powerful that it actually popped out of my heart. I felt like I was in this bubble and in this bubble I felt so powerful that I was so overwhelmed that it sucked the energy right out of me, for at least an hour. What a feeling of love. Now I can't eat anything but fruits and veggies, can't smoke can't drink. All this started to freak me out, thought I was going nuts. Still finding answers. The pwer of luv
@jesusvilla07 I'm sure I felt more at peace for quite a while. I don't honestly remember, it was a long time ago. I think it changed my life in the usual ways: some heightening of psychic awareness, seemed to bring about more "instant Karma" effects, more manifesting abilities including accidental manifesting and synchronistic events. Many of the effects faded or I had no outlet, like I said in the video "no context". I've had as many ups and downs as anyone. No more special than anyone else.
Its is so nice to finally hear of others who had this spontaneously happen. In the past 10 months or so I've had the vibrations which I thought were due to my neighbors getting a washer& dryer. Than forward flashes, signs, halos. I told my kids not to say anything unless they wanted a new foster fam haha. then the awakening. Now I read a lot & talk to anyone who understands.& I meditate! its awesome.
This happened to me and I was frightened ...it felt like my spirit wanted to rise up out of my belly / chest area and leave my body and was scary so I stopped it each time. But now I encourage it and only found out recently what it was called. It shakes every part of my body but in particular my head. I read that it is a gift that is given to you when you are ready. I wish everyone could experience it and I am so gratful that there are people like you who talk about it. Thanks x
@darrenwthomas7 I'm so sorry that you are going through this. I don't know how to turn it back or stop it. We always advise people to go through it and allow it to pass without trying to fight it. Some people do struggle a great deal, but many consider it a blessing in the long run, even if it's very difficult in the short term. I know that my words don't make it better. A lot of the standard things like good talk therapy, exercise, staying away from drugs and alcohol will help.
@Jimlead It's not the same as an orgasm, no. I have heard it referred to as a spiritual orgasm or a cosmic orgasm but it's definitely not the same as a sexual orgasm.
Hi Paul, thanks for posting this, Your video is a real gift for anyone who's threading those waters at the moment. This experience happened to me about 12 years ago. It was very beautiful. The come-down however was hard as hell, like being dropped from a great height and crash landing to earth :-) Life is very routine now all about family and work. I think about it sometimes, but guess it's not something one can ever fully claim to own, it just passes through you and then it's gone. Thanks again
This happened to me in 2000. I had 2 good years (totally confused - being an Atheist - but still amazing) and then when down into a deep abyss for a loooong time. I am just coming back out on the other side now. What a long strange trip it's been....
SO TRUEEEE what paul says at the end!! I thought i was doing great and rid myself of ego and it felt like it came back bigger and badder!! I felt like ego worked out what i was doing and did not like it!
To say more, in such a state of mind , the relief of sorrow is total , so the question of a meaning of life does not arise , such a question is always asked by a suffering mind .
There is huge energy , a deep peace , all capacities function up to the most...
This is life....what we call life is a never ending escape , by one part of the brain only .
this is where i see myself now , after another full day in this state of mind, where the yes/no binary usual opinion of us is not reached..
i had such an unexpected experience when i was 16...
It had produce some direct talk from brain to brain with "someone"..in a language i did not know, but could understand..i was contacted, amazingly i knew how to do it myself, for this brain to brain talk, i just needed to bring this energy down to the bottom of the spine ,then up and i could then speak..
No savior message, just simple from someone just caring..and asking how was my life from a general point of view....
Thank You so much Paul for this posting, resonated very profoundly with me almost to tears on how blissful it was. I too expiernced it as a child unsolicited. And you are so right you feel so small in the grand scheme of life yet you stand in wonderment the divine in everything. Thank you again for posting with such humor grace and humility :)
You are so lucky. I've been trying to awaken my kundalini for years and am making very little progress. Would be great if it would just awaken on its own like this that you discribe.
I don't really think that my Kundalini awakening was all that important. Good spiritual practice and just being compassionate and kind is far more important, in my opinion.
The same thing happened to me when I was 10 years old, lying on the grass. Suddenly I felt energy flowing through me and out of me, everything became crystal clear and I felt as if I had "woken up" - I told my mother about it and asked her if this had ever happened to her. She could not comprehend what I was talking about. I said, why am I suddenly "me again" and she said of course you are you etc. etc. It has happened about 5 more times throughout my life. My GP calls it an "anxiety attack".
@jittysan Hahaha...I am not surprised that your doctor called it anxiety attack. When I had my frst out of body experience, I went to see a doctor and she gave me the phone number of a mental hospital. I was quite shocked...
NICE and very down to earth. Great vid on the fenomena of electromagnetic human possibility to be more aware in our bodies and at the same time in our minds and souls :-) Been having those to, mostly by training with Rebirthing Breathing and of course in meditation, sometimes. But Breathing is easier to let the flow come through... Thanks for being so natural about this!
It has nothing to do with race or background, fysical or mental, what ever, its individual, like we all are individuals, to respect each others borders and energy for the purpose to help each other to reach together the higher levels, bible says: 'there is no greek, no jude, no man, no woman, they all can reach it' otherwise it was pre-conditioned
omg omg omg...omg. I was on my bed, semi-sleeping, semi-conscious two days ago and I was dreaming that I looked out my window and this brilliant white light shined in and I felt a joyous energy like rising up through my body, it was amazing! I googled as well and found this to be the only thing that made sense. Effing crazy man.
you guys are great. i thank you for keeping me grounded while i was in my first days of awakening. i was scared and i didnt have any idea what was happening to me.
you kept me calm and at peace with the situation.
@cspace1234nz while i agree that kundalini should not happen to young kids, since it is a change in conscious awareness of the greater reality., kundalini is a name given by the east, others would call it something else. but it is something that does happen spontaneously, and leaves gradually. it happened to me about a year ago, and awakened me for about six months then leaving me hopelessly confused. but it is a great experience which one may have its undeniable. i wish for everyone to have it.
I had a spontaiolus Kundalini awakening about 7 years ago. I had no idea what was wrong with me. I didn't find out what it was untill a year or so ago. I always called it my expeience. My husband thought I was crazy and put me in a Mental hosp. It lasted for 3 solid months. Once I got used to it, it was incredible. All I knew was that the "veil had been lifted". I can not even begin to tell everything that happened and what I learned on my "journey"! I miss it...
I experienced a K awakening which included "supernatural abilities". It was truly something else. I never though I would witness psychokinesis, let alone be the one performing it.
cspace, if you go to a French restaurant you might have a Crème brûlée. If you take one to go, and give it to a friend of yours in Arizona, he might say "Wow, that's some good vanilla puddin' how did you get that crusty stuff on the top ?
Firstly I would want to know how you got it through customs, assuming it was indeed a French restaurant and not an American restaurant making fake French food.
The guy in the video seems to have had a "spontaneous awakening" at a very young age and whilst he suggests he was meditating at the time I doubt such a young person would be seriously meditating and it does seem as though something simply "happened".
"Kundalini" is just a word, is this something that happens in different situations ? Am I making any sense ?
@cspace1234nz The guy in the video is a pretty good friend of mine. I have it on good authority that he was a serious kid who was seriously meditating. This is not to say that it doesn't occur spontaneously, cross culturally, in all kinds of circumstances and with many different names and labels given to the event. Further the interpretation of said mystical occurrences, or "experiences of the numinous " tend to conform to the cultural conditioning of the recipient upon remembrance.
So, if I'm feeling a 'stirring' in the first chakra and pressure and movement in four and five, would this be the beginning of a Kundalini experience / awakiening?
@kilgonus We really do need to make more videos, I'm not sure what the first one might be about. Some signs and symptoms of a Kundalini rising may be physical sensations such as you describe. I had similar sensations before a second major kundalini experience when I was in my early thirties. I don't think that Kundalini is such an important thing to concentrate on. Meditation, study, good works and bettering yourself is more important. Evolution mostly occurs incrementally.
I had the same experience when i was 17 three years ago, a year after i got out of deep depression. The odd thing was, i was completely ready. I really loved having that experience, it was the greatest pleasure/ joy i ever experienced. your right about the ego thing, I never thought of myself as a master even though I have developed psychic abilities and im quite talented. i always viewed everyone as myself, as one, and I knew that we are all one. its so cool to see a video i can relate 2!!
actually i have another question. Being that kundalini awakining sometimes has bad after effects, such as being scared of reality, would this be bad for someone whos depressed? and if you cant answer this question do you know someone who can?
I'd recommend therapy with a qualified psychologist in your area for issues such a depression and phobias. Regardless of those issues you can still have a spiritual practice and beliefs. But I wouldn't specifically attempt any kind of major consciousness shift unless I were feeling very strong, stable and sure.
I like that, it's funny and kind of ironic. Thanks, Chris. I don't know if I said in the video that when you drop the boundaries of the small self (in context I called it "ego") you begin to be able to experience the infinite, a much larger reality than ego based consciousness. Hard to maintain that i think, in that we need an ego to function as a person, but the ego doesn't have to rule the self. This is why so many religions refer to "surrendering" to God ( higher conscioussness ).
Can anybody please tell me whether I have experience kundalini energy. When I concentrate at the lower back of my spinal cord and try to feel it suddenly sense the some electrical energy flowing up the spinal cord. Sometimes I feel as if am experiencing voltage of electrical energy flowing thoughout my spinal cord to head. Am I having any nervous problem or is it kundalini power ?
yogiprasanna, Its kundalimi power! im curious, how does it feel to you? mine was pure joy, love and pleasure. I heard everyone experiences it differently, the way it feels i mean.
paul u should keep practice because kundalini awken only by one peron per 10 millon poeple and rest people are buzy with matearli life and their own karma
when a person kundalni awaken he is totally live in differnt vision even he lives in this world and it is not eazy to bear kundalini awken because it even will cut down ur relationship with many links becuase ur kundalni supposed to link with gods only
Thank you for the video. It's nice to see real people talking about this stuff. I had an intense experience this spring which has caused a helluva headache. I thought I was going crazy. Strangely I think my knowledge of psychopathology was what kept me sane. lol. Logic and reason was there but the information seemed different. I didn't trust myself and that may be what made it so stressful. I feel as if I've toured heaven and hell and survived. I have to reevaluate everything now.
You are welcome. Like a lot of life experiences these kinds of events can be life changing in a good way, or they can sometimes be very destructive. Sometimes both. We are always recommend not taking chances with your health. Check with local professionals and make sure that you are physically and mentally OK. A stroke can cause altered states of consciousness, as can other physical changes. Use good common sense, OK ? Health is important.
For you, there is a video already on your own channel by Eckhart Tolle called "The enormous power of yes" If you watch it again it should help you with accepting changes without trying to control outcomes.
I had been practicing acceptance for a long time, and it did help. Acceptance is what kept me sane, but i still need to recover. thx 4 the try anyways.
Check the "resources" section of our website, we've written a couple of articles on the subject. We could also do a session with you if you still need help. There is only so much I can do in the comments section of youtube.
So can riding a bicycle. Many people consider it to be worth the risks. There are many resources to be found on the web for dealing with adverse consequences of Kundalini awakening.
The first time I truly knew I was/am One with All and that All Is One is when I was meditating on the vastness of the Universe, I realized I am this vast space. It was so amazing I just "knew". I cried, but I don't think it was Kundalini necessarily. Maybe, I don't know. I know and feel I am One. I have a tremendous peace, especially in meditation. Here I am rambling. Ha ha. Light and Love Be with You All. Namaste.
Yeah, you got it-- a greater individual by virtue of realizing on a deep level that none of us is in fact "individual" at all, we're all one. It allows a person to become free of selfishness and to act in accordance with the highest good for all. It's a very liberating space to be in if you can hold onto it.
my experiende, was in the beach meditating with my friends, suddenly i felt a presence next to me, as i someone was touching my head. i could hear the sound of my energy explode out of me and how it surrounded me. lot of thoughts went through my head, lots of questions were answered. i could see diff. shapes in my head, shapes i could move arround with just thinking in it, an amazing experience. your feelings will be enhanced, i feel much sadness for whats 2 come.. stay positive
im not sure if i had a kundalini awakening or not but i was meditating in my car to get away from the noise inside and a rush of energy went up my body to the top of my head and i felt like i was upside down in my body and everything got brighter for awhile can someone tell me what happened?
Truthfully I get asked this question a lot, or some variation of it. Not to cop out, but I would rather people answer this kind of question for themselves and not defer to another person to give them answers. We encountered some people in our practice who weather some pretty amazing awakenings with no problems whatsoever. Just keep meditating and let yourself evolve without worrying about the labels of various effects that you encounter, that's my opinion anyway.
I know that it is a gift and that there are a lot of people searching for it but frankly, it is kinda scary to realize that they are so little people who understand me. The knowledge you get when you had an experience like this is huge. It does make you feel special simply because you have seen/felt some sort of secret which is stronger and bigger than anything that you (have) know(n).
But the why I got these gifts is not very clear........
I had a similar experience and it took me about 25 years to figure out that it was kundalini energy....
I know what Paul is talking about....but with me it came when I did meditation for the first time. Healing hands,my energy opened up(which means that I can feel mine and yours too),dreams that were very vivid and understandable and way more followed after that .....
Did you too come back from this experience with no questions?
From what you say you have touched the singular divine consciousness that is.
Knowing coming intuitively without words, everything in an instant, a quick peek in Pandora's box?
BTW I too was Jesus, as Paul said, "I'm back!" it's the experience of all sages and prophets and seers of all time, Christ, Buddha, LaoTzu the nine Sikh gurus etc.....
You seen what they've seen so you know why they talk of it the way they do.
finaly i am finding some people who are going through what i am. and even more amazing: something i wrote last night in regards to ego, realy is close to what you are saying at the end of the video
'The biggest consequence of higher consciousness is that if it happens to fade away or subdue your ego will try and take over with great power due to suppression. The body and mind are the slaves of the ego and without consciousness the ego is difficult to master." 2 much4 me
everyone here is telling there story as if it was an expierence like a ride in a park. to me, i will not rest until it returns or until i can better understantd the information and wisdom that has changed my reality forever. i can not eccept that it is a one time experience. it is my goal to connect without later discounnecting. it is my greatest wish to reconnect with this amazing wisdom.
I had a spontaneous kundalini awakening when I was 21. At the time I had no knowledge of eastern religions or kundalini, I didn't know what the hell was happening! All I know was that my body started to vibrate like crazy until a huge light exploded in my head. It wasn't a light I saw, but it was a light I felt, it was shining very intensely and it also seemed to be liquid, it flowed. I cannot describe the ecstasy I was in, it was sheer bliss. I still feel the light in my head to this day.
...not at all what i was used to .grew up in a 'cool & hip' kind of a church. have built on that & move into other ideas. but i was a guest at the fundamentalist church. after the passion play there was a prayer time & that's when i 'unzipped' from my body. like a curtain was pulled back from all around and there was light and other occurrences. totally not expected...was harder after to deal with the mundane. but also it has helped with understanding metaphysical concepts over the years.
i know, right? i like the insight here. nassim haramein says it's good to remember everyone else is the center of the universe, too! one kriya book says some of the students who believe they live spiritually never get to kriyas and some of the less reverent students are often the ones who will come to it more naturally & genuinely. my experience happened in a fundamenalist church i was visiting...
This guy is something, I like him a lot, and can totally relate about not having that darn context we all need afterward. He looks good for his age, I thought he was in his twenties.
I had an accidental kundalini rising at age 27. I was doing some yogas and meditations at the time and was under alot of stress, not eating right nor sleeping right, going through a divorce as well. Alot of the same feelings you had but mine was nirvana through pure neutrality and forgiveness. I could type pages about it right now so I'll just sum it up by saying its something I cherish and will never forget but handling it afterwards was difficult for a time.
In my opinion, the awakening of the kundalini is only the beginning of a spiritual enlightement. An awakened kundalini doesn't mean that a person is already enlightened, it is only the beginning of a road towards enlightenment.
Kristo198383: indeed, imho, this is true...like the difference between kensho & satori [wikipedia explains it well]....& there are many paradigms within which this kind of experience can be defined... -kundalini - a word i don't mind at all and have used myself here & there. but i think there can be other ways to name it, too. the video seems to me to be a good treatise on this subject of ego & the 'kundalini' experience. & a healthy reminder to check my attitudes daily - or at least weekly!
After years of suffering from mental illness, from manic depression through psychosis, my kundalini awakened after intensive meditation, and finally I found some inner rest and release of the inner turmoil I had experienced for years. I'm now studying psychology with a focus on transpersonal psychology, and I hope to work in that field some day. I really advice more reading on this stuff by the works of Stanislav Grof and Gopi Krishna! Enjoy!
I had a full blown kundalini awakening this past fall. I'd had smaller "awakenings" and a general progressive awakening since age 17 (I was 26 when I had this awakening). Mine happened spontaneously, I wasn't meditating or anything at the time. It was pretty cool.
Very nice. This is how i exactly felt , i was 17 then. Very important thing to note is that ego comes back agian and now it is bigger than ever. And this is why some people go crazy for the rest of their lives.
This is a very important thing you have said here.
I like this Guy, he has the total right idea on being humble, NO CONTEXT(very important in spiritual path)He has the Mentality prepared for the New Aquarian age. Also I feel like him as well, There is too much GURU worship in the world. What is not talked about, although more challenging, you can reach enlightment on your own
Kundalini awakening does not necessarily mean awakening, neither does it mean absolute consciousness. Kundalini awakening is an opening that increases the energy flow and has an inspiring effect on the nervous system on a cellular level, then again it is an opening to a new sensation of existence which is again an opening to a heightened experience of being. But remember it doesn't really matter whether you are Kundalini awakened or not, true awakening is to simply feel pure simple beingness.
Paul you say you have not been a part of a spiritual community and nor have I, I have been associated with a few but usually go for short retreat then go back to my life. I would suggest that you have already created here a community of Truth lovers interested in K energy.
I have written about my own Kundalini journey, featuring indepth interviews with Dr Richard Moss, David Spero, Swami Shankaracharya and David Spero.
I would like you to read it and perhaps offer a comment for the back page
The "Gymnosophists" have been practicing their art since before recorded "history". many "arts" are a way "in". There is a record on another plane, known by some as the "Akashic" record, which is beyond a linear conception of time. I was wondering if you experienced, along with what you described, a fine network of multicoloured filaments, or lines, between and slightly above your eyebrows , which
shimmered and pulsed, along with sensations of bliss, infinite?
I had this experience about 10 odd years ago, where I was lying on my stomach in bed, having what can only be described as a slightly relaxing sexual (solo) experience, when I felt energy rising from the base of my spine, upwards. Then I saw the multicoloured filaments which formed an "eye" image, it was very beautiful and It felt fantastic.
I have never had a repeat experience like this, but I often feel a tingling at the nape of my neck, I love Yoga!
Hi Paul, I am interested in you updating your K process.
I am in the same boat, having had an awakening into my true nature that was accompanied by a huge K awakening. Living with this process is difficult in the western society. I am keen on creating a community of fellow souls who are living with the K process.
We're planning on doing some kind of follow up video. I never had spiritual community. The closest I came to it was my fellow students when I got my Religious Studies degree in college, but I think mutual support is a good thing.
Kundalini Awakening need not be always associated with a spiritual awakening. More over it can give you adverse effects unless you are trained to handle it. Self awareness itself will give the insight or view. By constant meditation you can make the steadiness of the view. Kundalini awakening will only help you at this stage and not before.
We've heard a lot of viewpoints regarding Kundalini awakening, including those who have had adverse effects and those who have come through it just fine with no problems, like me. Nobody trained me. It was a spiritual awakening for me and I was just a kid at the time. I'm trying to keep the dogmatic statements to a minimum in my comments section.
What about the Dangers associated with this type of thing? If it is induced by another prematurely, or it is somehow bought on before it can be handled properly, what are the dangers associated with it?
Too big of a question to be answered here. There are a lot of other websites describing dangers/ill effects. We have some info on the resources section of our website. The thing is, fear and resistance to spiritual opening seems to make the problems worse. Those who accept and surrender to it seem to cope better. Some people manage to shut it down through their will, and then they want to have it come back. Others seek it out for years and have difficulty breaking through. It's a big world.
I think I had some spiritual experience. It felt like a nervous breakdown and the heart consciousness and there was peace for a week and now the ego is getting back into the brain. People thought i was crazy. But now its getting normal. Atleast now I know the source of consciousness at the heart.
I'm glad you came through it OK. I think that the ego is a necessary part of a functioning person, and that's why it tends to snap back. Not a bad thing, and you retained your identity, even better. When you told me you were engaged in constant daily meditation I figured you'd experience some effect.
well, the heart is the center of our conciousness. And it constantly makes you a better person because the heart is basically full of unconditional love for everyone, the inner child is awakened and its like a second birth. So the mind has to follow the heart as the heart does not want to engage in any hatred, fear or desire.
There is another step, at least in shamanic traditions, where the is ego basically implodes to the point where it takes a back seat to spirit - the 'little voice of conscience' takes a permanent place in the drivers seat where the ego used to be. basically you die and come back rewired - half human, half spirit so to speak. (this is WAY past the 'seeing the light' near-death experience) wouldn't recommend it without an experienced teacher for obvious reasons - some don't make it back.
my boss had spontaneous kundalini in 1991 and he really does think he's Jesus and he keeps telling me I am the reincarnation of John (not the baptist). I love the job and my boss is a wow person but this situation does scare me and I don't really know how to handle it. Anyone got any ideas?
Tell him John needs a raise in order to spread the good news. But seriously, he's entitled to his opinion and you're entitled to yours. Sometimes it's hard to know when to confront and when to just let something slide. His religious beliefs differ from yours, and he's trying to include you in his belief system. He trusts you and you like him and you love the job, so unless it escalates or you consider it abusive, it's "freedom of religion".
Keep in mind that when one has consistent Kundalini Awakenings, they reach the STATE and there is no "experience" after that. When they realize who they truly are (after reaching the state) - they are in the present moment 100% of the times, that is when they know reality from illusion; hence, why enlightened masters call themselves God and try to get others to open up so they can show them how divine they are as well. So calling themselves God is not due to Ego; it is true reality
If I follow this correctly you are illustrating the "still point" of undifferentiated consciousness in contrast to a more common, separate awareness. Yes, remove the boundary of the individual self and one experiences this "oneness" with all that is. You're right it's not egotism, and some would alternately describe it as a peaceful, blissful "nothingness." Same thing in that state; the infinite and the non-existent and all points between are the same. Well said and thanks for your comments.
Kundalini is not from "Kundalini Yoga". You are so right when you say you HAVE to be ready for it. When people are not, they will think they have gone mad & then they will seek toxic medications (prescrip. drugs) which will make things worse. Ego "breaks down" during meditation b/c it's limited and is an illusion.
Yep. I wrote a blog called "What's all this about meditation?" I can't link it here but you can google it. I discuss this aspect of the ego in the blog. The ego is sort of like an elected representative of the self; sometimes you want to vote to impeach. The ego can serve well as a function of the greater good unless it gets confused about what should truly motivate actions eh? The right tool for the job is sometimes a blunt instrument. It serves a purpose of holding together the persona.
I had one and shortly after a large cigar shaped ufo hovered over me on my way to work and scared the hell out of me. It also gave me a nervous break down. It's dangerous.
I've heard stories of problems from Kundalini rising. I wonder if it would help people to be aware of the connection between consciousness and external reality. If drugs are involved, or other circumstances which force realizations too soon then I could see the stress having dire consequences. When we open to limitless possibility and experience our own divine power we may inadvertantly create a reality that's frightening and overwhelming. I'm sorry it was damaging to you.
this is simply a result of the media. see, it's hard to believe, but the establishment/media goes against the grain.
the truth is the same as being crazy, as a result of that. if the concept of Kundalini wasn't suppressed more people would be ready for thing like this.
I agree that if we were more comfortable with mystical experiences they would be more accessible. Mystical experience is often relegated to the fringes of society. Even in established religions it tends to be controlled. Human society requires a shared vision of reality to operate smoothly and there are always some who seek to innovate versus those who strive to maintain order and control.
you'd be surprised how often there are spontaneous Kundalini Risings in Mental Wards. you can only keep that Energy suppressed with pills and propaganda for so long. actually Kundalini is a reason why a lot of people end up in the Wards...but they don't know it, which is why they sought external help, not internal.
The intense peace and love he talked of sounds like when people of other religions claim the has visited by Jesus in the form of a blinding light.

I had an awakening where I felt the silence and sacredness in everything, I noticed the ego rebounding but I didn't experience anything as what is described as a kundalini awakening, I wonder what my awakening was then?
crisisofconsciousnes 3 weeks ago
@crisisofconsciousnes I'm sure there are many types of awakening which are experienced in many different ways. I don't personally see a need to name them, although in some cases it seems to help people to find common ground.

To someone having a hard time:
I went through 7 years of being blasted by light after experiencing an opening deep in prayer. Things settled down after I met my spiritual teacher and told her that I felt it was disruptive. The experience was catalyzed by great joy praying with the Bible. I still feel a sadness that I had to seek a teacher from the East because we Christians are ignorant about stages of contemplative unfoldment.
That initial opening was over 20 years ago. I feel for people goi

kundalini is really interesting. in eastern philosophy its considered a breakthrough and a grandeur journey into enlightenment whereas western science believes its mental illness and or seizures.
cyberwaffles 3 months ago
the experience described is not a kundalini awakening. it lasts for years and its like living in hell. i have spent the last two years in bed with unwanted psychic activity energy constantly surging through my body, it is a living hell not something that just happens one afternoon and then goes away. the energy explodes inside of you and takes years to ground you have to face all your fear along the way. if it happened to 13 year they would die the nervous system cannot handle KAE at 13 years

@healerteam ive had it too. didnt have a clue what it was still in the process but its a lot easier now than the first year....was thrown to the floor when it began when my third eye opened and i blacked out and people mistaked it for a seizure. where really it was the begining of a conciousness shift..... felt the snake lash up my spine too...but in the end your only saying goodbye to learning and becoming a born teacher
edmondopowell 3 months ago
@TheJazzkat1 kudilini awakening happens at different rates deppending on the spead of the persons learning of someones spiritual learning, its one of the first things to bea learnt abou tkundilini awakening. also there has been many accounts of spontanious kundilini awakening where tht person under goes the whole process instantaniously.
decduff93 3 months ago
This guy is funny. The difficulty is for some, they end up going through this process without even choosing. I have been going through a "process" for about 15yrs now. I have lost count of how many times I have had spontanious "breakthroughs" and after a little while, usually a couple minutes, sometimes longer your back and the mind can and does increase resistance which then causes symptoms. I tend to go through a wave of 2 weeks significant peace, 2 weeks increased resistance.

How does one "awaken their kundalini" and why is it considered potentially dangerous and harmful?
NinetiesYouth 6 months ago

So, I wouldn't say this happened to Paul unexpectedly..... if someone is working at her desk listening to music, and then all of a sudden over a short period of time it happens and that person was doing nothing to make it happen, had not been meditating, had notmediated for years previous. ok
1010HannahBanana 7 months ago

The pwer of luv

jesusvilla07 9 months ago
@jesusvilla07 I'm sure I felt more at peace for quite a while. I don't honestly remember, it was a long time ago. I think it changed my life in the usual ways: some heightening of psychic awareness, seemed to bring about more "instant Karma" effects, more manifesting abilities including accidental manifesting and synchronistic events. Many of the effects faded or I had no outlet, like I said in the video "no context". I've had as many ups and downs as anyone. No more special than anyone else.
healerteam 9 months ago

Take care

The same thing happened to me when I was 10 years old, lying on the grass. Suddenly I felt energy flowing through me and out of me, everything became crystal clear and I felt as if I had "woken up" - I told my mother about it and asked her if this had ever happened to her. She could not comprehend what I was talking about. I said, why am I suddenly "me again" and she said of course you are you etc. etc. It has happened about 5 more times throughout my life. My GP calls it an "anxiety attack".

I'm thinking Julia Child, bon appetit !
But seriously, food analogies aside....
The guy in the video seems to have had a "spontaneous awakening" at a very young age and whilst he suggests he was meditating at the time I doubt such a young person would be seriously meditating and it does seem as though something simply "happened".
"Kundalini" is just a word, is this something that happens in different situations ? Am I making any sense ?
cspace1234nz 2 years ago
@cspace1234nz The guy in the video is a pretty good friend of mine. I have it on good authority that he was a serious kid who was seriously meditating. This is not to say that it doesn't occur spontaneously, cross culturally, in all kinds of circumstances and with many different names and labels given to the event. Further the interpretation of said mystical occurrences, or "experiences of the numinous " tend to conform to the cultural conditioning of the recipient upon remembrance.

Hard to say. Could be.

Would you consider making a video of signs / symptoms of an impending awakening? If not, could you suggest vids or texts that could?
Thank you for your time
kilgonus 2 years ago

PsiKidPower 2 years ago
actually i have another question. Being that kundalini awakining sometimes has bad after effects, such as being scared of reality, would this be bad for someone whos depressed? and if you cant answer this question do you know someone who can?
chrishasaclue 2 years ago
I'd recommend therapy with a qualified psychologist in your area for issues such a depression and phobias. Regardless of those issues you can still have a spiritual practice and beliefs. But I wouldn't specifically attempt any kind of major consciousness shift unless I were feeling very strong, stable and sure.
healerteam 2 years ago
i dont know if im ready for this. right now the only thing thats letting me have pride is my ego. without that im just nothing! :(
chrishasaclue 2 years ago
I like that, it's funny and kind of ironic. Thanks, Chris. I don't know if I said in the video that when you drop the boundaries of the small self (in context I called it "ego") you begin to be able to experience the infinite, a much larger reality than ego based consciousness. Hard to maintain that i think, in that we need an ego to function as a person, but the ego doesn't have to rule the self. This is why so many religions refer to "surrendering" to God ( higher conscioussness ).

Yeah, you got it-- a greater individual by virtue of realizing on a deep level that none of us is in fact "individual" at all, we're all one. It allows a person to become free of selfishness and to act in accordance with the highest good for all. It's a very liberating space to be in if you can hold onto it.

But the why I got these gifts is not very clear........
pdga3791 2 years ago
I had a similar experience and it took me about 25 years to figure out that it was kundalini energy....
I know what Paul is talking about....but with me it came when I did meditation for the first time. Healing hands,my energy opened up(which means that I can feel mine and yours too),dreams that were very vivid and understandable and way more followed after that .....
pdga3791 2 years ago
Did you too come back from this experience with no questions?
From what you say you have touched the singular divine consciousness that is.
Knowing coming intuitively without words, everything in an instant, a quick peek in Pandora's box?
BTW I too was Jesus, as Paul said, "I'm back!" it's the experience of all sages and prophets and seers of all time, Christ, Buddha, LaoTzu the nine Sikh gurus etc.....
You seen what they've seen so you know why they talk of it the way they do.

this is so surreal.
finaly i am finding some people who are going through what i am. and even more amazing: something i wrote last night in regards to ego, realy is close to what you are saying at the end of the video
'The biggest consequence of higher consciousness is that if it happens to fade away or subdue your ego will try and take over with great power due to suppression. The body and mind are the slaves of the ego and without consciousness the ego is difficult to master." 2 much4 me

There's a book called The Kundalini Experience: Psychosis or Transcendence by Lee Sanella.
You can find a free pdf copy by Googling it.

everyone here is telling there story as if it was an expierence like a ride in a park. to me, i will not rest until it returns or until i can better understantd the information and wisdom that has changed my reality forever. i can not eccept that it is a one time experience. it is my goal to connect without later discounnecting. it is my greatest wish to reconnect with this amazing wisdom.

Unfortunatly the ego always comes back. Surrender and make love a priority.

yea..
it is said that it can take years and years to awaken and takes EXTREME control over your body...and if not prepared right you can die...

I still feel the light in my head to this day.

you never had it happen again? did it not alter the way you see/feel life ever since?

...not at all what i was used to .grew up in a 'cool & hip' kind of a church. have built on that & move into other ideas. but i was a guest at the fundamentalist church. after the passion play there was a prayer time & that's when i 'unzipped' from my body. like a curtain was pulled back from all around and there was light and other occurrences. totally not expected...was harder after to deal with the mundane. but also it has helped with understanding metaphysical concepts over the years.

i know, right? i like the insight here. nassim haramein says it's good to remember everyone else is the center of the universe, too! one kriya book says some of the students who believe they live spiritually never get to kriyas and some of the less reverent students are often the ones who will come to it more naturally & genuinely. my experience happened in a fundamenalist church i was visiting...

I could type pages about it right now so I'll just sum it up by saying its something I cherish and will never forget but handling it afterwards was difficult for a time.

very well put, esp the post kundalini takeover by ego.. thanks for sharing this Paul.

@Kristo198383
Yes, you are right.
There are 2 things that must be cleared:
1) Kundalini will not "wake up" just because we believe in it, or because we have strange feelings.
The awakening of Kundalini is a sacred thing.
2) Kundalini won't rise on the spine right after you "wake him up". It's allot of work you have to do for that.

It was pretty cool.
mysticsecret1313 3 years ago 2

Obviously you can also get it, when you are not meditating.

If k doesn't stay stable in your head the k awakening is not complete,
decongeniato 3 years ago

Dear Paul,
The "Gymnosophists" have been practicing their art since before recorded "history". many "arts" are a way "in". There is a record on another plane, known by some as the "Akashic" record, which is beyond a linear conception of time. I was wondering if you experienced, along with what you described, a fine network of multicoloured filaments, or lines, between and slightly above your eyebrows , which
shimmered and pulsed, along with sensations of bliss, infinite?
fretboardyoda 3 years ago
I didn't experience multi-colored lines or filaments.

Thank You Paul,
I had this experience about 10 odd years ago, where I was lying on my stomach in bed, having what can only be described as a slightly relaxing sexual (solo) experience, when I felt energy rising from the base of my spine, upwards.

Let me know your thoughts

We're planning on doing some kind of follow up video. I never had spiritual community. The closest I came to it was my fellow students when I got my Religious Studies degree in college, but I think mutual support is a good thing.

Kundalini Awakening need not be always associated with a spiritual awakening. More over it can give you adverse effects unless you are trained to handle it. Self awareness itself will give the insight or view. By constant meditation you can make the steadiness of the view. Kundalini awakening will only help you at this stage and not before.
shastrayana 3 years ago
We've heard a lot of viewpoints regarding Kundalini awakening, including those who have had adverse effects and those who have come through it just fine with no problems, like me. Nobody trained me. It was a spiritual awakening for me and I was just a kid at the time. I'm trying to keep the dogmatic statements to a minimum in my comments section.
healerteam 3 years ago
What about the Dangers associated with this type of thing? If it is induced by another prematurely, or it is somehow bought on before it can be handled properly, what are the dangers associated with it?
Sludgy9 3 years ago 2
Too big of a question to be answered here. There are a lot of other websites describing dangers/ill effects. We have some info on the resources section of our website. The thing is, fear and resistance to spiritual opening seems to make the problems worse. Those who accept and surrender to it seem to cope better. Some people manage to shut it down through their will, and then they want to have it come back. Others seek it out for years and have difficulty breaking through. It's a big world.

hi paul,
I think I had some spiritual experience. It felt like a nervous breakdown and the heart consciousness and there was peace for a week and now the ego is getting back into the brain. People thought i was crazy. But now its getting normal. Atleast now I know the source of consciousness at the heart.
sargentpepperoni 3 years ago
I'm glad you came through it OK. I think that the ego is a necessary part of a functioning person, and that's why it tends to snap back. Not a bad thing, and you retained your identity, even better. When you told me you were engaged in constant daily meditation I figured you'd experience some effect.
healerteam 3 years ago
well, the heart is the center of our conciousness. And it constantly makes you a better person because the heart is basically full of unconditional love for everyone, the inner child is awakened and its like a second birth. So the mind has to follow the heart as the heart does not want to engage in any hatred, fear or desire.
sargentpepperoni 3 years ago

5starrater1 3 years ago
Tell him John needs a raise in order to spread the good news. But seriously, he's entitled to his opinion and you're entitled to yours. Sometimes it's hard to know when to confront and when to just let something slide. His religious beliefs differ from yours, and he's trying to include you in his belief system. He trusts you and you like him and you love the job, so unless it escalates or you consider it abusive, it's "freedom of religion".
healerteam 3 years ago
Keep in mind that when one has consistent Kundalini Awakenings, they reach the STATE and there is no "experience" after that. When they realize who they truly are (after reaching the state) - they are in the present moment 100% of the times, that is when they know reality from illusion; hence, why enlightened masters call themselves God and try to get others to open up so they can show them how divine they are as well. So calling themselves God is not due to Ego; it is true reality
vinny1010 3 years ago
If I follow this correctly you are illustrating the "still point" of undifferentiated consciousness in contrast to a more common, separate awareness. Yes, remove the boundary of the individual self and one experiences this "oneness" with all that is. You're right it's not egotism, and some would alternately describe it as a peaceful, blissful "nothingness." Same thing in that state; the infinite and the non-existent and all points between are the same. Well said and thanks for your comments.
healerteam 3 years ago
Kundalini is not from "Kundalini Yoga". You are so right when you say you HAVE to be ready for it. When people are not, they will think they have gone mad & then they will seek toxic medications (prescrip. drugs) which will make things worse. Ego "breaks down" during meditation b/c it's limited and is an illusion.
vinny1010 3 years ago

It's dangerous.
jdogg03infinite 3 years ago
I've heard stories of problems from Kundalini rising. I wonder if it would help people to be aware of the connection between consciousness and external reality. If drugs are involved, or other circumstances which force realizations too soon then I could see the stress having dire consequences. When we open to limitless possibility and experience our own divine power we may inadvertantly create a reality that's frightening and overwhelming. I'm sorry it was damaging to you.
healerteam 3 years ago
this is simply a result of the media. see, it's hard to believe, but the establishment/media goes against the grain.
the truth is the same as being crazy, as a result of that. if the concept of Kundalini wasn't suppressed more people would be ready for thing like this.
originalname33 3 years ago
I agree that if we were more comfortable with mystical experiences they would be more accessible. Mystical experience is often relegated to the fringes of society. Even in established religions it tends to be controlled. Human society requires a shared vision of reality to operate smoothly and there are always some who seek to innovate versus those who strive to maintain order and control.
healerteam 3 years ago
you'd be surprised how often there are spontaneous Kundalini Risings in Mental Wards. you can only keep that Energy suppressed with pills and propaganda for so long. actually Kundalini is a reason why a lot of people end up in the Wards...but they don't know it, which is why they sought external help, not internal.
originalname33 3 years ago
That is very interesting. If you have direct experience with this it would be worth writing an article about, if not an entire book.
