  • 24 ppl's daddy's are not rich like me

  • A better time and place,most happy am I.

  • There's Water, Air, and DMB...

  • Raised on this song, and DMB absolutely captured the essence of it.

  • @crazyfoo47 are you serious - the dave mathews version is an improvement on the original.

  • Just heard the Zombies do this the other night live. Great song, but DMB doesn't bring the same energy to the song. And Rod Argent's keyboards cannot be duplicated or bested. He plays like wildfire.

  • @PHL76Music Sorry, but Butch Taylor is smoking on this track. I disagree.

  • holy fuck

  • I hated this song and then I heard Dave sing it. Love.

  • @sm0kemymind87 - really? a nearly note for note cover of a song you hated? only difference is DMB was doing it? Narrow of scope, and ignorant in the extreme. One of the greatest songs in the history of ever, regardless of DMB or the Zombies...whatever it takes to make you like it, I am glad...but please dont spill dumbass all over the place again...its a bitch to clean up.

  • The Zombies would be proud of Dave singing this song. Love it.

  • why are the DMB so big, theyre just a pub band :) :)

  • This guy could cover "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" and make it AWESOME!!

  • I feel this is a "meh" cover of a fantastic song. It just feels uninspired, from the vocals to the keyboard solos. I appreciate that it would be/is an extremely difficult song to play live while capturing the emotion of the Zombies track, but this just feels lethargic compared to the original. Perhaps it's not the best choice of a song to cover, but hey, the crowd's still moving, so I guess the DMB is doing its job well.

  • @ANewAccount43 Uninspired... the Hammond solo blows me away. I think the Zombies live ruin this song. Just my .02.

  • @dleblanc In all honesty I don't really care for the "modern" Zombies shows, but I think had they performed it in 1968 or the years shortly following, they would've done better, but that's kind of a moot point haha. It is rather silly of me to compare their album track with DMB's live cover, but indeed, that would be my .02, haha.

  • Dave Matthews butchers another otherwise perfectly good song.

  • @1544eu Another unqualified observer making another inadequate comment.

  • This man does the most amazing covers ever!!!!

  • I can't believe I haven't heard this cover by DMB. Shame on me. Love it.

  • I love Dave Matthews

  • Fucking YEAH! Awesome cover!

  • I expected a terribly bad cover, and althoughI don't really like his voice, this cover is not THAT bad. The harmonies weren't great too, but then, The Zombies' harmonies were amazing, kind of hard to replicate. One thing really annoyed me though: the keyboard solo was really dull. It slows the song down whereas Rod Argent's tasteful solo just fires everything up!

  • @MrTakaltar I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you've never seen these guys live. If you have, you need to reevaluate man. This is very, very good. Do you know how ridiculously hard it would be to cover this song, let alone do it justice? From a musician's standpoint, this would be tough to pull off AND make awesome with a group of people.

  • 1:41 is the hotness

  • Epic! This whole DVD is epic!!

  • Simply amazing this cover. I love this song and I love DMB!

I have this full show. Great! :)

  • Best concert I've ever been to! Red Rocks, CO 09/2005!

  • what concert is this?

  • so if you think that your pee sized brain can handle any of what i have just stated then come back with a qwick one for me, cause has so many other covers that near perfection!

  • @darth Dew22 wow, so your gonna have criticism for a man's singing, who definitly has gone beyond just what you label him as, he shared the stage with rolling stones and santana, now can u honestly tell me any other rock musician who has more accompanyments with that quality or even has pushed his voice as far as he has gone since '91 and to think that his immature jokes about any sort of gayness should be taken into his account is also beyond me, he has a wife and four children...

  • Covers are tricky....You either have to be failthful or completely put your own spin on it. It's safer to put your own sping on it. An example is Marilyn Mansen's cover of "Tainted Love". But, if you're going to be faithful to the original, you have to NAIL it. And, these guys aren't. The music is perfect. The singing...I like Dave MAtthews, but this wasn't his song.

  • This is a good song. I like Dave Mathews Band

  • Do your own type of crappy music and don't ruin something special like this. Never heard anything of yours I could listen to for more than a few bars. You truly suck.

  • 14 people are turbo-retards

  • hey la BANDA DE DAVE MATTHEWS ES LA LEY con esta rolota de LOS ZOMBIEZ

  • Amazing song and fantastic Dave!

    Love, love, love... :D*

  • Weekend on the Rocks- fantastic.

  • one great cover...

  • Happy birthday Dave

  • wow not that i have a great voice or anything but this guy should stick to what his voice sounds good with... his own songs.

his singing ruins this classic song, quite a tragedy

  • @darthDew22 wow your an idiot.

  • @lastbornsons ohhhh the irony... HAH dave matthews fan boy what a tool! This band is fucking gay anyway. Oh, btdubs YOU'RE an idiot.

  • So so soooooo sexy!

  • Nice job DMB! This one is a hard song.

  • This was not a good cover, the band did awesome, Dave not so much

  • dave matthews band can do absolutely any song and own it. so boss.

  • 14 people don't know good music!

  • Shit's SICK

  • One of the best covers of a song anyone has ever done, period!

  • Aw, Butch - bring him back.

  • I love you Dave~"everything you do is genius" I had no idea Dave covered this incredible old memory.......:)

  • Showeeet!

  • hahhaha this is soooo goodd!

  • Butch is soo good. Can't believe they got rid of him for the awful Tim Reynolds.

  • I contend that this is one the best covers ever. Just really deep man. Same goes with RHCP cover of Higher Ground and The Ramones of What a Wonderful World.

  • @bkgangstapianist I could not agree more!

  • He as handsome as he is talented

  • Oh so good!

  • 14 people have not been laid!

  • @floydbanks MAKES NO SENSE

  • I don't know if another band could put this cover down like that!

  • Ya just gotta love the fuck outta this There is no part of this that just doesnt make ya wanta jam!

  • Frickin awesome rendition!

  • how many babies were made to this song ? zombie babies ?

  • how many babies were made to this song ?

  • GO Butch GO! Hell yeah!!!!!

  • The Red Rocks Ampitheater in Denver is just beautiful with the acoustics and everything.

  • I saw dmb play this at Pac Bell in San Fransisco in 2004. They do a great job with this cover

  • My mother used to sing this song to me! Memories of a good time that won't come back anymore... unless I find Dr. Brown's DeLorean!

  • its the tiiime of the seeeason for booooning!

  • They should replace their drummer, Carter Beauford with Joey Jordison. They really suck with that bad drummer. Double bass rules!

  • @Lehmann108 Don't know if you were beng sarcastic or not so I'll just say this. Jordison wouldn' t be a good fit. Carter contributes HEAVILY to the band's overall sound.

  • @Lehmann108 that is hands down the dumbest thing ive heard said about that dave matthews band....

  • @Lehmann108 jordison sucks. a fast kick drum and aggressive sound are no match for carter. carter's got his tasteful fills and just kicks ass in general on every aspect of their songs.

  • @Lehmann108 please be kidding otherwise you have no idea what your talking about

  • @Lehmann108 Hey guys, I'm making a joke! Carter is a superlative drummer who adds so much to this extraordinary band! I'm mocking the young drummers who think fast is good.

  • I have seen dave about 20 times, mainly earlier in the bands career, definetely one of, if not the best live band ever, not the same without leroi........r.i.p..........

  • @joeleighmac Im sick of people saying I have seen "Dave" 20 times. They are called Dave Matthews BAND on purpose! When we talk about The Beatles, we just don't say I saw McCartney 20 times did I?

  • @KnockaroundGuys "uhhhhhhh...........ok, I've seen THE DAVE MATTHEWS BAND about 20 times.........." sorry knockaroundguys.........still need to see them live without leroi though............:)

  • @joeleighmac Sorry bro its just a pet peeve of mine ya know. Don't worry, Rashawn and Jeff don't let stage left go without mention.

  • well done

  • such a hot voice he's got.

  • Mmmm........he is one hottie with talent......also has a great song via the Zombies.......absolutey love it by both bands......btw.........disagree with some of his political views......I wish celebrities would keep their political views to themselves......do charities for the poor with your popularity.....I'm tired of dumping artist.......just saying :>)

  • booooo!

  • Who is playing the ,.. Hammond B-3??

  • @4rainbowed That's Butch Taylor. He's a beast on the keys.

  • OMG!!!

  • Yep, he aced it. Dave's style is Dave's style. Great keyboard solo. Zombies made it theirs forever. Dave's cover is the best so far.

  • He aced this cover.

  • I love the way the Dave Matthews Band does Time Of The Season........but still love the original by the Zombies :>)

  • Growing up in the 60's, I can say that DMB absolutely captured the essence of this Zombies song.

  • Wow, is Fonz playing a Fender Precision ( or Jazz, it's hard to tell ) bass here ? Never seen him play one of those.

  • good cover but organ could be more present.. i fakkn love electric organs lol

  • @marcusklaas DM doesn't want anyone showing him up. He's an egomaniac.

  • great cover, really accurate. I dont even get down with DMB but this is a standout for sure. gj.

  • Awesome cover of a great song.

  • love their drummer. it always looks like he's having such a great time. and doing a great job in the meantime.

  • Fun song to cover. The vocal break move to the major is root is killer. Respect the live vocal harmony, hard. Keyboard player rocking a Nord (red), yay.

  • Keyboards deserve a special shoutout here on this cover ! Nicely done wow !

  • @julie1300 That's just Butch doing work

  • Who's your Daddy?

  • stud i love dave mathews

  • this band are fine musicians.. great cover!!!

  • dave matthews always looks like Mick from Pee Wee's big adventure to me

  • @BROKENHOUSEFILMS lmao i was juss watchin that.....

  • i definitely exclusively listen to dave, but i mean i listen to some three doors down/shinedown/redhotchilipeppers/oar etc, but it is about 95% dave. I dont think that it is unfortunate because of the uniqueness of his music. There is nothing like it and I think as long as people give other bands a chance, then exclusively listening to dave isnt such a bad thing

  • Thanks so much for sharing! I haven't seen Dave live in years and miss it greatly! aWESOME!!!!!!

  • SO SICK! Dave is one nasty man

  • I've been a Dave Matthews fan for close to fifteen years now and I'll easily admit that DMB fans tend to have a pretty wide musical pallet. RTB0889, you obviously haven't met too many DMB fans now, have you?

  • I'm also a huge DMB fan, but you'd be surprised how many Dave fans listen exclusively to DMB. It's unfortunate that they do, because they create a stereotype that most of us don't fall into.

  • Everything the do is genus.

  • good one buddy cant even spell douche.. how can you say that rtb dave followers are educated music followers. broaden your horizons you bloody wanker.

  • Shut up. You should learn to spell and then find something better to do than to knock some of the most loyal fans the music industry has ever seen!

  • @RTB0889 hey just a little harsh dont you think? i dont like all of his music but i do like a few of his songs. im impressed that his aud. knows anything about the zombies. im a big fan of the zombies

  • this big guy with the small guitar looks real funny:)

i think this is a nice interpretation of this song, but it sounds a bit better with those multiple background voices the original has

  • every one needs to quit arguing and at least understand this is sick!

  • Yea alot of frat boys listen to dave and like them to be cool. But Dave is a great band with amazing talent. WOW. I'm surprised there's s much anger from Dave fans... haha

  • Zombies. What a great group. Dave Matthews, what an incredible cover! Amazing. Great Hammond solo.

  • Awesome song, by an underground band, one hit wonder anyone?

  • @Teknakill Are you saying The Zombies are a one hit wonder -- which they aren't -- Fail No.1 there. Or are you saying Dave Matthews Band is a one hit wonder with a cover song? Fail No.2 Dave Matthews Band is VERY popular. Try looking at the related videos before commenting lol

  • @jennajaynie sorry my bad, your right.

  • Um this is a Zombies cover not Beatles, so whether you knew that or not your Beatles comment is irrelevant, just enjoy the music.

  • This just happens to be on of my favorite songs and definitely one of my favorite bands. Great combination for myself. And DMB ROCKS

  • dave heard this growing up and probably knew it came at his head/ceasar said time of the season for the games to begin/don't bullshit shakespeare.

  • whoa derry....think DMB has gotten fame on their own several times over. Have you never heard the expression "Imitation is the sincerest of flattery."

  • rip off basterd go get fame on ur own scale not others YES FUKEN no wer near the REAL THING LOVE THIS SONG SHAME A TWAT LIKE HIM FUKED IT UP FOR THE YOUTH NOT SOM1 THAT COULDA GAVE MORE

  • It is missing a certain 'magic" at the same time its just a great song to hear

  • wow relax douche, he's dedicating a song, a great song to a great band the zombies...at least dave matthews appreciates this song and artist more than you.

  • haha you speak of fucking things up for the youth and yet you talk like an uneducated hillbilly. i think you were or are the one with the fucked up youth

  • There is nothing better than this band. Dave puts everything no his songs and his voice is scratchy because he tours 9 month out of the year and has been for the past 10 years. I have seen them play this song a few times and love when they play it! Like I said, there is nothing better than the Dave Matthews Band :)

  • More like the past 17-18 years. But 10 is close. ha

  • The Zombies are still the best with this song.

  • Stunning keyboard solo

  • No..the Zombies are way better!

  • Dave Matthews Band is Awesome!!! Of course the Zombies will always be the one everyone remembers...If you can do better...You sing it... record it...and see how Good U are!!!

  • this is pretty good, but nothing beats the original :}

  • this is bad ;)

  • when you cover a song you can't hid how shitty your voice is. dave does well most of the time hiding it on his songs, but this song HIGHLIGHTS how bad his vocals actually are.... "its the time of the season..." <--Sounds like a cat dieing

  • @WhereMyDuragAt

His voice isn't bad. This is just out of his range. They should've brought the key down a whole step or two.

  • no thats just daves singing style, if you ask any diehard dave fan they love his voice in this song. myself included, his voice is awesome

  • Yes, knocking it out of the park! That was one of the first songs I played with my rock group in the late 60's. Gee, we didn't quite cover it as well as Dave and the boys!

  • Ladies and Gentleman, THIS is how you cover a song!!!!!! Like, Love, Adore, words can't describe....

  • @smoothops627 terrible cover for being a known band.

  • Comment removed

  • i'm glad dmb did a cover opposed to some other bands out there. they did a fantastic job.

  • @francoglio really??????

  • No disrepect to the original groupt that did this but, these guys are superior musicians. I'm sure some of it is due to the evolution of music since the original was done in 1967. These guys play with a confidence and style that is awesome.

  • Nicely sung but the keyboardist isn't even close to Rod Argent's ability, the solo in the break is kinda butchered badly..

  • I hear some auto tune going on here!

  • DMB doesnt use Auto-Tune my friend

  • dave can be awesome. but his fanboys need to chill out. its just a band, not a way of life. dont fucking cry and hug your boy when he plays crush, dont sing every song. just play it cool. wtf

    btw dmb rulez! lol

  • its just a band, not a way of life -

    ask John Lennon.

  • I do't think anyone should take tips on living from John Lennon. He's been failing it for at least 20 years.

  • @PlatinumJestar your an arrogent prick john lennon influenced tons of people and you just spit at him

  • @greatfullybakedgamer

He meant becuase he's dead. It was a joke... chill.

  • If your not singing along at DMB concerts than your not getting the true expirience

  • gorge, right?

  • na i think its red rocks

  • man you can tell these guys just really love music. them and coldplay to me seem to be the most real bands that play with real passion....you dont ever hear anything bad in the media about these guys- gotta love em'

  • except when they dump there shit in the chicago river while driving over the bridge in thur tour bus...

  • "There's a good population of people in this country that are terrified of the president only because he's black, even if they don't say it. And I think a lot of them, behind closed doors, do say it."-Dave Matthews

You didnt hear about that one I guess

  • Nice video. I think that they do a great cover.

But where is this?! What show? What date?

  • This was one of their cd's called Weekend on the Rocks. Its played at Red Rocks in Colorado. This is from 2005, it was their stand up tour. I don't know the specific date. You could easily get it from google probably

  • I love dave mathews band <33 he rocked this song XD

  • well good peformance

but the version who made scot weilland for austin power s : the spy who shagedd me soundtrack kick ass !

  • As someone who grew up with this song, I can say Dave absoluetly captured the essence of this song!

  • in St. Albans? Me too. Rod and the guys were awesome ... with Love, maybe the most underrated bands of all time.

  • this goes to black virus,

    how is dave matthews awful?
