I converted from atheism to Christianity 4 years ago w/ out being proselytized (assuming that is what you mean by pushing). Most people I meet join because they want to, not because there forced to. @atheistdawn actually, I remained a skeptic for quite a time during my first year of studying religions and Christianity. It does not matter whether you can accept my background or not, your opinions does not change reality as much as you wish it would. Lets hope that you can become less dogmatic in your views and be a real atheist, one who is honest, open to new data and is not afraid to change his perspective if it fits the data received.

Almost nothing works the way it's supposed to anymore, from marriage to finding food for starving children.
What lesson are they going to learn best? That their father will always be around to stop them from hurting themselves in any way? Or that needles hurt, and they should be careful with them. For their earthly father will not always be around, and they must learn to protect themselves. Allowing a small amount of pain now, to teach a lesson, is far better than causing great pain later when the daughter is hurt even more.

It's more like this you ask God for something and he'll give you an instruction after you comeplete your first instruction he'll give you a second instruction. Why do you worship a God that required Jesus to be killed on a cross so that payment of sin was made. How come your God could not forgive sin by simply Saying, " Forgiven ". I converted from atheism to Christianity 4 years ago w/ out being proselytized (assuming that is what you mean by pushing). Most people I meet join because they want to, not because there forced to. I pray that you can get past the superficial objections and give biblical Christianity a new look. You will be suprised how much information has been skewed by the mainstream. Take care!

@atheistdawn actually, I remained a skeptic for quite a time during my first year of studying religions and Christianity. It does not matter whether you can accept my background or not, your opinions does not change reality as much as you wish it would. Lets hope that you can become less dogmatic in your views and be a real atheist, one who is honest, open to new data and is not afraid to change his perspective if it fits the data received.

And as for children starving in Africa, you have a point, they don't really have a choice. But we do. We can help them, and God can help them. God has left the management of this world up to us, and as we are not perfect(far from it), we do not do what should be done all the time. This world, ever since the fall, has been torn apart by sin. Almost nothing works the way it's supposed to anymore, from marriage to finding food for starving children.

What lesson are they going to learn best? That their father will always be around to stop them from hurting themselves in any way? Or that needles hurt, and they should be careful with them. For their earthly father will not always be around, and they must learn to protect themselves. Allowing a small amount of pain now, to teach a lesson, is far better than causing great pain later when the daughter is hurt even more.

It's more like this you ask God for something and he'll give you an instruction after you comeplete your first instruction he'll give you a second instruction. He won't give you something becuase you asked for it. He'll will set you on the path to get what you asked for but it will involve you to work.
