I'm a old rock n' roller from the 50's and

60's. Back then, of course, I was too full of youth and adrenalin to appreciate the quality and depth of a singer and song like this. But I certainly do now. I'm hoping that kids today who are focusing on the whipped cream fluff and tuneless violent crap that passes for much of the music today will one day feel the same. It must come with age and reflection. This is the real thing. Billie Holiday lives.

I love the early pics of Lady Day...when her body & voice were strong & healthy.  The latter pics cut deep & are so painful to view...to contrast them with the early pics & see the harsh toll heroine & alcohol had taken on her beautiul face & voice. What a huge loss we all experienced from it. Gone, but never forgotten...the world was blessed to have you Lady Day, if only for a short while
