UW has more national championships, including 1981, when they beat UM in the title game, our only meeting in the NCAAs.

Yeah, sure, the gophers have produced a whole load of two-season wonders and career AHLers. Big deal. Just try naming former Gophers who have had careers as substantial as the eight I named (and I'm leaving off the rest of the Suter clan, Mark Johnson, Steve Reinprecht, Brian Rafalski, etc. from the Badgers' list). I'll get a kick watching you try to validate everything Jordan Leopold has done post-Hobey. Or when you inevitably try to put Kessel's two year career as Gopher NHL Legend. Joke.

I admit it, the official head to head stat is that the Badgers are behind all-time: 80-149-17 (~36% of possible points by the current measure).
But lets put that in perspective, shall we? The modern era of this rivalry began in 1965, when the Wisconsin program was reinstated after being disbanded during the Depression. In the "modern era" the split becomes 40-60 in favor of the Gophers, although the Gophers still have a losing record in the playoffs.
Hardly the "owning" you think it is.

No worries. "The pot calling the kettle black" is actually a pretty well known phrase. The phrase humanizes the pot and the kettle, points out that the kettle and pot are both black, and that the pot would be hypocrite if it were critizing the kettle for being black.
