yeah... i played this for the high note music festival and we played it slower... also i think they had the articulation messed up... the song is supposed to have all the notes connected and flowing (like on the sheet music says "flowing with expression")otherwise... i think it is alright.

thats too fast.. its supposed to be a nice and emotional piece that shows how your players can be mature and handle it with good tone. You should also work a lot on dynamics..its all way too loud even when the dynamic is piano..my band is playing this for uil and it will sound a lot better slow and exagerrated!

actually, its suppoesed to be this fast. we played it at about 40 bpm, yet it was in cut time, thats why Mr. D directs in 2/4 time. Mr. D decided to play it slower, cuz it sounds better than playing it like this video. It was his choice, and it sounds soo much better

i would just like to say to both of you that this is my band playing and we took this song to festival and got superiors from all 3 judges so we got a superior with distinction.

considering that i think we did fine.

Well, i just prefer it slower. We took it to Choice Music Festival and got superior as well. We would have played it faster, but our director chose not to. I'm not bashing anyone, I just like it slower, and more resonant, and all that fun stuff. Sounds more... I dont know. Powerful? I'm a sucker for slow music. Y'all played well.

the next morning, we were goin to Fiesta Texas and a competition. we had to be at the school at 5, so we could get to our competition in time. we got really good reviews on this song though!

yep. it was our best recording (at least i think..), and the judges were going crazy over it. two of the three said it was the best performance of it they'd heard, so that was cool to hear ^.^

Cool, where i live, when your in 8th grade, all the 8th graders in the district who are in band gets to go to St. Louis for two days. On the first day you have to go to compititions and then the second day you get to go to six flags.

The sheet music is in cut time. It's just a lot of directors choose to have it in the slow and exaggerated style that people are used to hearing. I had to play this piece for my band class. I played bass clarinet.
