Thank you for the video. Before I was looking into getting one of these resonators. Now I'm definately not getting one. Thanks for making my mind up for me. Great video
I tried, but I really can't say that the resonator made a difference. Would be great if gave your opinions on whether you thought it made a difference or not. Especially the last two "photos" where you are cruising, sounds identical with and without the res.
The resonator made a huge difference. The overall decibel level is lower inside and out, and the drone (deep howling noise that gives you a headache) is nearly gone.
The truck had a straight pipe when I bought it. I installed the 4 in. exhaust and didn't see any improvement (3in. downpipe). With the resonator I didn't see any change either. I'm running 21 city and hwy mix (less in on winter blend).
Thanks! Yeah a buddy of mine and I put it in after the automatic quit shifting. There is a good writeup on cumminsforum about doing the swap, however we did it without consulting anyone (not recommended unless you want to be frustrated). Yeah the resonator does quiet it down a bit, but a month later and my ears are thanking me.

im willing to bet that the straight pipe ruined the gas mileage. Did the resonator bump it back up?

Actually, I didn't see much of a mileage difference.

in what way? did the resonator keep it the same as the straight, or did the straight keep it same as the stock? (stock being around 20hwy unloaded)
