And there is a very good reason to rev an engine, it's to warm it up - watch?v=q6ky5MP43YI - that's the Ferrari pit crew doing something very routine. Also, these are race car engines. This isn't some twin turbo daily driver that you can lug around town in 5th gear all day. You do that in a Ferrari and you'll ruin it. Lastly, I was not impressed at all with this launch, so I wouldn't consider him to be showing off.
