I guess they finish the same amount of features? While the RoR guy has to type lots and lots of code, the PHP guy uses just a few strokes to accomplish the same thing.

@GodsBoss Not really, I made PHP app before and took 3 lines to describe one (1) validation. In Ruby on Rails a do all of validations for most of my models in 3 lines.

Ruby is not slower than PHP. IF you are talking about resources for rails, then yes somewhat. But a single mongrel instance can easily push out 70-100 pages a second, yeah, there is some hardware issues.

However, this is NOT a ruby issue but a rails issue.

At any rate, "slow" is relative and any common language can run faster then the real bottle neck in web servers-the network. Using terms like "slow" in the way you did is misguided at best.

Ruby is a nice language, but the problem is it's slower than PHP and you would need more resources to run a Ruby application on a site with high traffic.

PHP is a very powerful scripting language. I say you concentrate on getting things done, not making it easy.
