The city authorities never thought that the towers where going to collapse so the FDNY where sent up to fight the fires and to conduct a search and rescue opperation, which is what they are trained to do. the NYPD on the other hand do not tend to perform those tasks. So why the FDNY was in the towers doing what they were trained to do the NYPD were on the ground doing what they were told and trained to do and when the towers collaped the NYPD where able to get away quicker.
Your right the guy from the Daily News should not have gone into the buildings as a reporter and is an idiot to have done so. I would have felt a little more sorry for him if he were there to help rather that hinder the rescue efforts.
And as for the NYPD camera man i believe he should have gone into the buildings first and foremost as a police officer not a camera man.

I have had my hands full for the last 30 years fending them off while I am committing the crime of photography.
Just last week they tried to grab the camera and then lie about it. Should have seen their face when I told them how stupid are they, this is a movie...
And any Swede who knows the NYPD can't know as much as I do, having watched them for 30 years, sometimes getting involved, being he has been alive only 26 years, and a Swede (not from NYC) to boot

I've been from one end of the criminal justice system to the other with my complaints.
Either they don't care or they're in on it. When I stared they wqee my heroes, 30 years ago. I've been beaten and arrested 5 times for taking pictures.
I've had bones broken, cameras smashed, film stolen, always with a bullshit story no one ever calls them on.
If I hate them, they made it that way.

How come there was no outpouring from NYPD HQ 2 blocks from WTC, but FDNY had members run thru the BBT, only to die?
344 died from FDNY, 23 from cowardly NYPD, including a camerman, they said was rescuing, but he was just filming....

The city authorities never thought that the towers where going to collapse so the FDNY where sent up to fight the fires and to conduct a search and rescue opperation, which is what they are trained to do. the NYPD on the other hand do not tend to perform those tasks. So why the FDNY was in the towers doing what they were trained to do the NYPD were on the ground doing what they were told and trained to do and when the towers collaped the NYPD where able to get away quicker.

Of course. He was ex press who crossed the line to help spy on groups like the gays marching past St Pats and other huge threats to our way of life.
My objection was to them making a big hero of him effecting rescues when he was really filming.

Your right the guy from the Daily News should not have gone into the buildings as a reporter and is an idiot to have done so. I would have felt a little more sorry for him if he were there to help rather that hinder the rescue efforts.
And as for the NYPD camera man i believe he should have gone into the buildings first and foremost as a police officer not a camera man.

He would come up with an explanation like yours, that was the joke as it sounded like the usual excuse offered for the usual bad behavior, acting as if it was minimal or didn't happen.
Just FYI: The cops didn't come pouring out and should have gone in. The FD was there on a drill so there were many already on scene.

Im not making him out to be a hero i think the guy is a douch for not helping and just filminG and ,FYI, i know the cops didnt pour out of the surounding precints like they should have done and that the FDNY went swaming in because i watched it happen. i live in lower Manhattan and my apartments balcony had a good view of one of the entrancs to the south tower. i watched truck after truck of the FDNY run in and only a few run out as it collapsed.

I'm not saying from the surrounding pcts, I'm saying from HQ. There must be thousands that work there and stayed there during the incident, unlike the FD, who you couldn't keep away.
Bottom line, the cops are corrupt and cowardly while the FD is one of the few things you can count on.
And before you attack me, I'll tell you about the jobs they never went to, came hours later after picking up the job, or harassing the neighbors 7 times in a week.
Never have a problem with FDNY.

The raging inferno was on the upper floors. There were assists to be made of people exiting the building and crowd control that would have killed them if they were. They weren't.
