the english tend to believe that wales aren't capable of anything ! listen to our music and watch us at rugby !! im sure english opinions will soon change if it can get passed their arrogance ;)
@smurfyboozer The English tend to believe that no country can be capable of anything with out them, best sporting event I've been to is Wales v Scotland in rugby....... you guys killed us but we all had a party and stood shoulder to shoulder in the ground and after had a few pints after...... epic times!!!!!!
@TheDude8584 definately mate ! hit the nail on the head there ! and i can well believe that, we are a very social nation wales and our people have great banter ! i've been to scotland a couple times on tour, great people and very social also. when i first stepped foot in england many moons ago however, not such a warm welcoming but thats them. us celts know how to have a good time though don't we !!! :D
Love this song! We sing this in our Scottish choir in English but have almost mastered the chorus in Welsh with the help of one of our members who is Welsh.
@3tangle3 Well I dont choose what our choir sings, our Gaelic speaking conductor does. We sing plenty of songs from around the world including beautiful Italian songs which no doubt sound better in the language they were written in (to the Italians). The important thing is that people enjoy singing good music, the language used is of little importance. We sing plenty of stuff which is translated from Gaelic and our Highland conductor has no issues :)
@hamefurgid I am all for people living out a happy life and I am chilled out generally but its nice to give minority native languages like welsh more exposure :)
@3tangle3 Absolutely and Scots Gaelic is a minority language too but I wouldn't expect a Welsh choir to try and sing a Scots song in Gaelic. As a non Gaelic speaker, we leave the singing of Gaelic songs to the local Gaelic choir apart from the odd chorus or two!. Our attempt at singing the chorus of Calon Lan in Welsh was laughable even with the help of a native speaker so we sing in English. Lets just enjoy singing the fabulous variety of music from around this United Kingdom :)
@hamefurgid British Isles* - UK is a 1707 created hanoverian state ;)...let not forget ireland and its great contribution. Ok no more trolling from me heh
@3tangle3 Pardon me for not mentioning the republic of Ireland LOL!! But am still equally happy to be both British and Scottish. Didn;t have you marked as a troll, enough of these on here! :D
@tSp289 how is this nationalism?? its a song about a pure heart! Also if you hate nationalism than all states on this planet will annoy you........unionism of the UK is a great example/ form of this nationalism
@3tangle3 The song itself isn't Nationalist; it's a fine old hymn. But a lot of the other people I know who say anything good about this song say it in a "YEAH! Have that you Saes bastards" kind of way. It kind of taints my national pride to see it being used as a way to be acceptably racist.
Poking fun at other nationalities? Fine. Being proud of your country? Also fine. Using your nationality as an excuse to be a nob towards people who happened to be born somewhere else? Not fine at all.
@tSp289 lol I am a evolutionary biologist so I am so chilled out. I would be happy to see an independent Wales like it original britons used to have but that doesnt mean I dislike individual people from england. Many so called nationalists have english ancestry................look at the irish rebellions most of the leaders had english surnames ;)
@sweetiepatty7 Thankyou very much for your comment, and you're absolutely right.. us Welsh sure do have such beautiful voices as well as accents :') .. CYMRU AM BYTH!
Thank you very much. Very beautiful! I looked for albums of Welsh Choirs in the internet, but I found only with mixed English and Welsh language songs. But I want to find albums with only Welsh songs. Can you tell me some Welsh coirs or albums of Welsh choirs with only Welsh language songs? Thank you very much.
@szalard I think all Welsh choirs sing both Welsh and English language songs, I don't think from mind that any of them just sing in Welsh. I can tell you that the most famous Welsh Male Voice choir would have to be the Treorchy Male Voice Choir, and the choir who sings this song (Fron Male Voice Choir) have made loads of albums called "Voices of the Valley".
If I do manage to find out if any just sing in Welsh then I will let you know via Mail.
Thank you for your comment / Diolch am eich sylwad!
Awesome!

I hate nationalism, but I love this song.
Or I would if there was a version without the cheesy synths! Come on, the choir has enough power to carry it alone!
