That sounds like my workplace...signing a birthday card is more important than getting critical work done to the lot of them without enough real work to do. Much as I enjoyed the tortuous job interviews, I'm glad to see we haven't left the office and the Alien Queen behind ... This is a wonderful way to unfold a story, and though I have great sympathy with Penelope (empathising all too well with her view on temping), I'm glad we have the optimism of Suki and the worldly-wise couldn't-give-a-damnness of Tiger to give us a different perspective ... though I think I too could probably have strangled Suki for that little lapse. ;)
