i was at work on nursery street, sheffield that morning when the don started to overflow. i managed to get home to darfield and by the end of the day it was an island, surrounded on three sides by the dearne and the dove.
I lived in the coode building shown at 5:36, when we returned from work me n the missus had to walk through water that was up to waist hieght in some places! Was strangely eirie at night. heres hoping a tragedy like that never again happens in our wonderful sheff.
lol, well i live in rotherham, Brinsworth. it wasn't very nice for some, but for me it was quite exciting at times, and at others where a child has died, u just wanted it to go away.

At 2 minutes 40 it really shows how bad it was..I live in the midlands and the several motorways and roads were closed due to flooding. I have seen pictures of the water up to someones roof while they are being rescued. It truely was horrific...my thoughts go out to all those killed by the floods and their families..and thanks to all those who did everything they could to prevent any more deaths...true english spirit.
Well put together. I was in the wicker that day between 3and4pm with my son trying to rescue my grandaughter from her nursery, thankfully everything turned out ok, true yorkshire spirit prevailed that day.
this has been bad for all concerned,i live in a village between doncaster and rotherham and ima carer for the elderly our job was very hard as we were unable to get in or out of our village for 2 days due to the floods.its going to take a long time for the damage to be rectified, but we are yorkshire people and we pull together and will get through it together...
Chesterfield had it rough as well.

Terrible stuff, but to be honest, I'm not sure what's worse - the flooding or the Guns n Roses soundtrack.
