If one of these guys had been in shape they would have easily ruled the other. Instead they're two big, strong, but fat dudes slugging it out. If The Captain had lived he might've learned a lesson about not stretching out a fight.
I love it. No wolf tickets, nothing. Just straight ahead knock down drag out fisticuffs to the end. No special sounds effects for the landed blows, just the sound of flesh against flesh and gut wrenching screams. This was perhaps the greatest televsion fight of ALL time.
The acting in that scene -- particularly the subtle nuanced facial expressions by both Gerald McRaney and Ian McShane (for me, at least) -- is what makes this such an effective moment in the series. I also love the sheer brutality of the fight, not some glorified Hollywood interpretation of what fighting was like in those conditions, but pure, raw, unforgiving, and unchecked brutality. Just perfect. It makes me sick that this show was not allowed to end properly.
the recognition of that asshole lawyer Adams (awesome character btw) for Dan's type of personal, brutal sacrifice, is a good touch. Shows the respect they accumulated (basicaly accepting each other as necessary) since season 1.

This is the music played while they drag Jack McCall through the streets....

I love how the Gustavo music fits perfectly into the scene, even though it's not really supposed to be there. This fight doesn't actually have music.

Epic. Dan is a beast.

I think Dan was willing to fight far until The Captain bit him, then all bets were off.
