  • Molly Weasley

  • This movie has a good plot, nothing you see in cinemas these days.Love her accent.I don't understand how some people commenting below could happen to see this movie here, clearly nothing these could comprehend....

  • Using a monologue from this for drama :3 Wish me luck ^.^

  • @Starrlett20 haha i did the same, i used his one when he's talking to Rita about how he shouldn't be her tutor.

  • I love Julie Walters. She is such a great actress!!!1

  • Amazing film, the only thing that ruins it for me is the terrible synthesized music

  • I absolutely adore this film!!!!

  • A Bizarre Collection Of Puzzles by The Enigma

  • A very touching little British film from the early 1980s. The two main actors give wonderful acting performances. The ending was quite moving, as the professor who like so many Brits who become disillusioned with the UK in one way or another decide to move to Australia to start a new life.

  • What a shitfull piece of crap

  • @CreepyMonsterKock then why did you watch it?

    dickhead

    Stupid bitch, I hate woman

  • @CreepyMonsterKock

haha you stupid piece of scum. without a woman you wouldnt be in this world and would be a dirty little nothing. your poor mother has a fucking ignorant bastard as son. how sad your father wasted a sperm to create you hahahahha

  • @LadyLoreal

Lol I admit I wouldnt be in this world without a woman.

Thats because woman are GOOD but only for three things:

    1. Cooking

    2. Cleaning

...and Vaginas (procreation and breeding new man and pussies)

Now get back to the kitchen, start cleaning the house or go pleasure a man

    same advice to all bitches

  • im doing this for a drama exam and im going to have 2 try nd master the liverpool accsent :D

  • swan and stone is not assonance its alliteration

  • This movie has always been one of my all-time favorite.

  • Brill film. Michael Caine and Julie Walters are excellent.

  • I love how it ends on 'Everything!'

  • Thank you for posting this film. Gives me a chance to see it again after such a long time.

  • i did this like 2 years ago in drama lol

  • Mrs. Weasley!!!

  • thank you!!! good for revision

  • Hey accent sound like a pikey. It's those people who live in those caverns in the camp. Amazing and yet humorous accent.

  • Do you know Yeats?

    The wine lodge...?

    No, Yeats, W.B. Yeats.

    LOL!!

  • I cant understand what she's saying.. British accents are so stupid-sounding!

  • @seonfox

Stick to watching Sesame Street then.

  • @seonfox And who are you to say your accent sounds less "stupid"? I actually like her accent, although I admit it takes some getting used to. It sounds more like a "real" accent than those idiotic accents they use on American TV when they try to portray someone as "British" (nicely generic term).

  • I love the soundtrack, it's so 80s! Julia Walters and Michael Caine are great in this. This is my second favourite JW role after 'Her Big Chance'. I find it crazy that all of her pre-student makeover outfits wouldn't raise an eyebrow today! I never thought those colour combos would be back in style XD

  • learning this at school the now. got to write about it in my exam tomorrow. so thanks !!! :D

  • 3:40

  • I've loved this since we read it at school and watched the film at school! Very deep and heartwarming love the music too!

  • -_- we Had to read the book & watch this for my english Coursework

  • SHE'S SO SEXY IN THIS. ooooh. alliteration :')

but she so is. i love julie walters. O: xx

  • Wow, Julie Walters was a looker!

  • I read the play today and I have to say that I really like it even though some of my class mates said it's boring. It's interesting how Rita changes throughout the whole story. The movie seems to be cool, too.

  • They seriously should have nominated Jennifer Beals AND Flashdance for the OSCAR and not this tv-movie

  • @MarlonskiFan

actually reverse the 2. flashdance is tv-movie, this is cinema.

  • im doing this part in a school play:')

  • @levibaileyy OH MY GOD!! you're doing a school play of EDUCATING RITA? serious. wooooww. :) lucky beggar. :')

  • @BethanyRose211 yep:) hahah:'), already done it now:), i got an A :D

  • @levibaileyy well dooonnee!!! :) x

  • @BethanyRose211 thankyou!:D x

  • caine in a liverpool context makes me think of lennon

  • Learnt this in school recently :)

  • Thank you so much for sharing this! I've been wanting to see Educating Rita for a long time, and now I can (: Michael Caine is wonderful.

  • May sb. tell me in which way this is a play about the clash of class and culture? Would be nice if sb. could explain to me?

Has sb. informations about the accent Rita is speaking?

  • @svw4ever92 Well its easier if you've read the play to understand in all honesty, as you see the transformation then, and the clashes easier. Also Rita is speaking Liverpudlian, but its highly put on, people from Liverpool in the majority, their accents arent always as sort of stilted and strong as that.:)

  • May sb. tell me in which way this is a play about the clash of class and culture? Would be nice if sb. could explain to me?

Has sb. informations about the accent Rita is speaking?

  • One of my all time favorite movies.....Julie Walters and Michael Caine..wonderful!

  • thank you love this film xxxxxxx.

  • Huge thanks luv! Wonderful film!

  • Thank you for uploading this brilliance.

  • This film is so irresistable! Michael Caine and Julie Walters are just terrific! I often wonder what happens to Frank and Rita after the film ends. Do their plans works out?

A love story off the beaten path!

  • Julie Walters and Michael Caine!! Some of the best British talent ever!!

  • I wish the movie were on german. we saw the film in german lesson. and we got the work order to write some stuff about the film.^^ but thanks for loading it up. the film is great. :)

  • Wow! "Ed.'g.Rita!" One of Michael Caine's most successful! This role called for a different 'sort' of character from Mr. Caine who managed the 'stretch' quite nicely. Going to see this movie in our local theatre was a "huge big deal" for my best friend & meI back then. We were prob'ly 30 & madly in-love with the dreamy Michael Caine! 'Among millions,' we 'knew' we were 'thie only ones!' hahalol /^_~\\

  • What people don't tend to mention when talking about this film is what a fantastic unsaid love story it actually is. It's never mentioned but you know Frank loves her, even if Rita doesn't realise or doesn't want to admit it to her self. Anyway, wonderful film, brilliant performances. Every line rings out with a degree of truth, most writers would kill their granny for. Makes you think and breaks your heart at the same time.

  • @dirkbogarde44 OMG, I never got that about this film - is that implied, that Frank fell in love with her? Probably why he got jealous when she kept referring to Tiger

  • Thank you for posting this. I adore this film. It's one of my favourite films. Michael Caine is one of my all time favourite actors, superb as Frank. And Julie Walters is just brilliant. One of my all time favourite actresses. I love everything she does but this film has to be my favourite.

  • One of my all time faves. Thanks ;)

  • Two of my favourite actors...I love this film.

  • Just saw the stage production at Trafalgar Studios last night - with Tim Pigott-Smith and Laura Dos Santos. Marvellously staged and paced, and I couldn't remember that it was Julie Walters in the movie. All 4 superb Frank and Rita - Tim possibly just that more curmudgeonly!

  • One of my absolute favourites, so happy its on here!!!!!! :-)

  • I love this film :)

  • I remember this one! I was looking up Michael Caine movies, and found this gem!

  • @elmajic7

So is that why you decided to watch the video?

  • @Doomsday2060 no i had to watch it for school -.-

  • @elmajic7 Clearly... You have no idea of culture... And evidentially, you don't like this due to the fact that you probably don't understand it. =]

  • @XwormsXrockX i understand it, its alright but i still dislike it :L

  • @XwormsXrockX don't be such a fucking elitist. although I do like this film

  • @elmajic7 yh man, i agree big time. i understand it and its okay but i still dislike it!

  • "... afraid of getting cancer. Bloody cowards!!" Ha! Julie Walters is so brilliant in this role!

  • does anyone know where a good part would be to write a monologue?

  • "Why don't you go out and make love or something?!"...always loved that line.

  • From the moment she walks into the office she is so much like Jennifer Ellison!

  • this is so funny, the students are sooo arrogant, hilarious

  • Thanks for posting this. A very good, heartwarming movie. On here, I can just skip past the profanity and be able to really enjoy the movie. I think I might also get the dvd. I had the VCR version, but it's awful hard to pass over very small parts in a movie.

  • "life is real"

  • i am only doing thid for me exams the soundtracks in this are no gd lol x

  • hmm.. isnt Rita supposed to be scouse? sounds kinda brummy haha

  • Good call, mate. The author is from Liverpool, the actress from Birmingham (or nearby).

The script just says we're in "the north of England." But the movie was actually filmed in Dublin -- further confusion.
