Miraculous. Among my favorite moments in the cinema. It's baffling to me how a sequence with such satiric bite concerning institutionalized religion and schooling can also be so gorgeous and wistful.
Things I love: the boy's legs showing up in the light from the movie projector, the hilariously nasty sample from Kind Hearts and Coronets, the priest dissolving into the teacher, the way the camera tracks back to the beginning from the other direction, as if it's circled the entire world.
