i need some help people, i have a denon dnx-1500 mixer and it seems to be heating up more than i think it should, has anyone had this problem and if so can you tell me what the best solution to solve this. if you can let me know i would be very greatful. DJ TRAV

i was gonna get a djm400, but i cant connect speakers (xlr) to it with traktor....

or can I? but now im thinking of getting this or the 1100 cause it has xlr AND more channels!!!!

Got this mixer, had it for years, it is a quality mixer and beats the tits of the pioneer mixer i reckon!!

Are these parametric effects live? Meaning, lets say youre on a delay fx on 1/2 beat can you go straight on 1/1 beat without loosing the beat match? Or youve got to turn it down to dry, change the parameter to 1/1 and then turn the knob back to wet?

hey brian great vid. Quick question: When you use the echo effect and the move the fader down, does the echoe fade out during a mix like the djm series? Thanks alot for the help

I'm new to the effects side of things ... it seems a little fiddly to me ... are most mixers kinda the same when it comes to effect implementation?

I think I might go external effects , just a sampler I think and go for a simple mixer.?

oh I still don't know ... I've always been very indecisive :)

hey brain, i was just wondering, if your a denon man, why did you get the pioneer stuff? isnt that like going for both teams at the superball (im from australia so i didnt know how to put it, thats the best thing i could think of) anyway, the clubs i have worked at over the last few months have started getting rid of the pioneer and getting denon which makes me really happy because the DJM800 was alwas breaking on me. :(

I've never been what you'd call a loyalist (I'm American and prefer Austrailia.. HA!). Both Denon & Pioneer make nice products. If I could only have one, I think I'd go with Denon.  It seems they put a little more though into Audio. Not only that, but Denon stuff is BUILT to LAST!

Nice to hear these but in the video you should have also shown the controls instead of only telling about them while using them. Over all good presentation of the mixer. Ending was funny.

I did try it that way, but my hand was covering what I was doing. I couldn't figure out a good way to show both where you could still read what was going on in the window.

what i do for my videos is use two cameras, then edit the footage together by syncing the audio from both cams. Might be an idea to go get a second cheap miniDV or hhd for videos like these

Yeah maybe one of these days. We'll see where this whole Youtube DJ video thing takes us. I may have to end up getting some kind of advanced editing program, propper lights, etc. For now, this is as advanced as it's going to get

I understand you're calling it a jet from the old days, but don't you mean "phaser". Phaser is the effect you get by having the same tune playing on both decks, beatmatched, but ever so slightly out of phase. Flanger is similiar, but a bit different, if I am correct.

They are very similar. A phase sound is a steady smooth effect while the flanger is a more repetitive almost an echo of a phase. Google Phaser vs flanger and get your tech on! Thanks man!

Luck had nothing to do with it. I bought this one last Summer when my Behringer died & I needed a second DJ mixer for the State Fair gigs I did.

As for all that "Other" gear, well... lucky or not, it's been a lot of hard work getting there.
