  • I got a question I have a 1776 cc with a progressive weber on it and I just picked up twin dollorto 40's do u think that will be to much for it ? Also your engine sounds great!

  • i like the sounf whats the moffle type?

  • since you work at a vw shop i have a couple of question if you dont mind. Can you build one of these big cc engines out of a 1600 base, with case and head work, pistons, crank? or do the engines come in different ccs. what im asking is with a 1600 engine can i make a1955cc engine. sorry im new to the vw scene.

  • Do you work at the vw shoppe in hams?

  • @looseunitt Hi, Yes I do work at the V-Dub Shoppe in Hamilton. Cheers

  • @VDubEngineBuilder ah yup im paddys son, cool engine. sounds wicked, tell dad to put one in his ford

  • @looseunitt , Hey Hi, Yeah I don't think he would be into putting one into his Ford although his Ford is starting to smoke a little haha.

    Cheers

  • beautiful set up. love the exhaust.

    Cheers

  • @VDubEngineBuilder

What header set up is that going to dual quiet packs? Merged? Size?

  • @kamuela41, Hi, Page 125 of the online Empi catalogue. Dual Quiet Pac system. 4 into 1 collector but not merged. 1 3/8" pipe.

    Cheers

  • Yep ... 90.5 x 82mm c/weighted crank motor ... every one has their Fav. set-up

but 4 me this always was the best all around reliable motor , with head work and hooked to a close ratio box in a older lite Bug ... Fun in the Sun ... I rarely got beat just Fk'n around on the streets during short races ... I never felt comfortable taking my S**t over 80mph an Ole bug just don't handle it safely , but with a "line-loc" for burn out's , I could always show-off and feel proud even if a jap car won.

  • super sick sound man.

  • great set up. im doing something very similar. I have weber 40's but im looking for 44s. hoping to break 200 hp :)

  • i love the exhaust

  • It has now been changed to a custom hide-away for the splitty, just a little louder & completely hidden, also more ground clearance as this twin set up made the kombi scrape the ground through driveways.

  • get rid of that clear dizzy cap!!!!! those things are such crap. they end up splitting and cracking and then all of the sudden you're running on 3 or 2 cylinders. yank that think off and toss it directly in the garbage!

  • Thanks for your comment, next time it comes in for a service I will give the customer the option to change it out.

    Cheers.

  • @VDubEngineBuilder Get a bosch one. yeah it doesn't match the rest engine but its not always about what looks good, functioning properly and not leaving you stranded is key!

  • VERY nice!!!!

  • Thanks, the Kombi it went into was an absolute pleasure to drive! Plenty of go power!

  • @VDubEngineBuilder I am building my first stroker engine and i prety much got the same specs as your 2110, one thing i don't understand is the main, cam and rod bearings sizes. what sizes are you using for each part in this engine? 25mm, 50mm, 75mm or are you using all standard? and the cam is it double trust? please respond.

  • how many horses would this setup roughly have?

  • hi, between 160 & 180 flywheel hp

  • wow very nice! thanks for replying so quickly!

  • cool mate, thanks

  • did it drive well

  • Apart from needing wheel align, just a bit low, tyres rubbing on bumps. Nothing a few adjustments won't fix. When you go have a look, rub your hands over the tyres, you will see what I mean about too low, but tyres fit under guards well.

  • awesome goin to go have a look on sat have only seen photos of it

  • If you get a chance to drive it there, be careful, still needs a wheel alignment.. and probably more fuel. ;-)

  • hey i was supposed to get the 1st drive (haha), thanks keith youve built an awesome engine i cant wait to take her out for a drive once all completed

  • I drove it to the trimmer's to get the interior done, sat on a bag of rags (no seat).. Man you get some funny looks driving your Bus, people smiling, waving, tooting.. you are going to have fun! Love the induction noise from inside as well, Dave was following in the work Van, he said it sounds awesome from a distance.

  • Just Been for a decent drive in the Splitty with this engine in, it is strong! Pulls & drive's really nice. Awesome combo!
