i ´v e just watched this movie. it was a great one, but maybe it could have been a bit less romantic... i mean he was too naive and wooden in the beggining.
The corruption of that era, as evidenced in this film, was nothing compared to nowadays. This film was just the tip of the iceberg. Just imagine how Mr. Smith would react if he went to Congress in 2010.
I cried at the end of this... this movie was soooooooooooooooooooo amazing... strangely they were talking about how the media was owned by the rich and the corporations during this film.. they succeeded in turning the public opinion against mr smith at the end but then the senator opposing him saw the wrong in what he was doing. We really need to remember the power of the media and take some of that power BACK!~!! Happy 4th of JULY! ps.. want to see a great senator now in reality? ron paul.
Gone With the Wind, Wizard of Oz, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, Stagecoach, Ninotchka, Wuthering Heights, Young Mr. Lincoln, Gunga Din, Beau Geste, Destry Rides Again, The Women, Dark Victory, Drums Along the Mohawk, The Rules of the Game, Goodbye, Mr. Chips
yes, but, mr narrator, what is the film actually about?

Good Lord what a movie. Just stunned me beyond belief! Very powerful in showing what democracy and freedom of speech really means.

I wonder if I could persuade you to submit a video on one of the 1001 films you must see before you die. Join the Group and add. Thanks.

@monsterboy31 I'm not sure anymore. It used to be Ran, but the number one movie changes too often. Hell, it might even be this.
