New York has had an impressive skyline since the early 1930s;until recently,no city in the world could compete with it. Now,things have changed but this city remains fascinating because of its architectural diversity.
After looking at some older photos of the area where the World Trade center site was located, I've relabeled this as 1966. It looks to me like the demolition is about complete at the site and excavation has not begun. The film was labeled 1967 by the US Army, but that might have been the release date.
@fernousdu972 lol im not agressive im just saying why would we we want to see how New York was many years ago, since we have an awesome NY in the age we are now?
That's an absolutely amazing clip. Considering it was filmed less than a year after I was born it's suprising how much of Manhattan was still 'low rise' back then and that, by today's comparison, it seems still undeveloped in places. A great piece of archive video. Thanks :o)
@JerdooFlightX Well when anyone reads my Youtube or Twitter profile I specifically say "ALWAYS READ THE LABEL" so everyone knows exactly who, and what, I am. I didn't know there was an age limit for Youtube users but I am aware that most, if not all of my subscribers and friends are younger than me. It does make me feel old at times but I do wish people would view my profile first. My channel was originally created to save my favourite music from the 80's/90's, the rest is an accident.
@bywestonbay sorry dude that i didn't read it :) i didn't wanna offend you in anyway i was just joking, i'm older then most of my subscribers and friends as well and i know what you mean about feeling older then sometimes, lol on the rest was an accident :p
The year my father was born. Unfortunately he died in 2010 :'(
