  • That's interesting! It looks like Canon's 5DMkII will finally get some serious competition with Nikon's D800. Its about time I'd say.

  • Thanks for the excellent review(s). I found myself wondering what camera was being used to film this review (and even the lens used on the camera). Would it be possible to post this information in description(s)? The actual review video itself is a true video sample of a camera and lens combination which I believe many would find interesting.

  • @boqueron55 Canon 5DMkII + 24-105 F4 L ;)

  • anyone noticed that Alamby is using left eye to look at the VF?

  • For 2 grand I'd hope it'd be good..

  • How is this a useful lens when you can't put any filters on it? Few landscape photographers will buy it.

  • it drives me crazy when they let this ultra top end equipment get soaked....i just couldn't

  • Where is this tower place?

  • I love the DigitalRev soundtrack. Like if you agree!

  • @KidLankie there are people for everything ...!

  • Excellent review.

  • You had me at "squat like a person from mainland,China", subbed. Beautiful city, you said Hong Kong right?

  • what camera body is he using with that lens

  • @34thncrenshaw I believe it's a D700.

  • @iFloridaAllStar Hahahahahahaha

  • Canon users bought adapters so that they can use this. That is how sharp this lens is.

  • mmmm alamby...

  • That D700 and big lens makes alamby look like a hobbit:L

  • QUESTION; how do we know NIKKOR N "gold ring" lenses are weather proofed?? I hear lot of people "say" they are weather sealed but Nikon never mentions them in their specs like Canon. I know they have rubber gaskets but are they really??

  • this and 7-14mm Olympus lens pls :)

  • Nikon G Series lens means: GOD'S Series.

  • Comment removed

  • its look like a fisheye lens

  • cool rev, i like that one alot :)

  • HAHAHAHJHAHAHAAHAHAH SCARED THE SHIT OUTA IT!

  • This is a god lens.

  • @tkpenalty yep like your momma

  • Is the whole nikon water proof?why didnt it spoil?

  • @benedict331 weather sealed

  • y do u never use a strap??

  • @digitalrevcom lok or kai.

may i ask you if the sample photos that appear in your videos are edited or not

    thank you

  • **** NIKON BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE ****

My Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8 is back focusing at 14mm (I can’t use AF fine tune because it make the lens blury at 24mm).

I called NIKON, they said: “it happen sometimes”, and asked me to send the lens for repair.

It will cost me $60 for the shipping+insurance ($2000 lens)

Nikon does NOT want to pay for the shipping & insurance.

Why shoud I pay $60 because NIKON did not check the lens before selling it ?

Do you think that is a great customer service ?

  • @Alexvideoclip why don't you return it or take it back to the store you got it? Then they'll just send it back to nikon free of charge for you and them...

  • 2:58 , i would say thats enough to squash a frog

  • kai is a nikon guy... but i can see that they are using canon for filming...

  • Comment removed

  • Kai, Why don't you get the Sniper Strap to test on this lens and D700? You will find that the camera and lens is not that heavy then. The strap absorbs the weight and you can even do this all day....

My friend has the D700 with the MB-D 10 grip, with the Sniper Strap and say it is not that heavy, I tested it too and makes a HUGE difference.....

  • 6:02 Not only do you not show the shot for more than a second... but you don't tell us what focal length you're at!!! I think 99 percent of this video is just kai talking to the cameraman and shots of the cameraman's camera and not this lens.

  • Love your videos!! It would be great if you could review the Panasonic Lumix Lx5 and the Nikon 24-70mm F2.8 G AF-S ED lens :)

    Cheers from Norway

  • @tomkalbo He did review the Nikon 24-70mm f2.8G ED lens. just search the title as u posted & add digitalrev into the search function :) enjoy watching!

  • idk why nikon still have that red swish on their grips, they should change it to gold instead.

  • My wife say that you're cute.

    :o)

  • Lee Filters have a filter adapter for it

  • @pmc524 Ya for $600

  • Excellent review. Very entertaining as well. Thanks. Got the 14-24 and love it.

  • My next purchase.

  • Why this video did not show in my subscription?

  • Was this filmed in Hong Kong Park?

  • 4:03 Nice. No distortion! NICE! kai is such a fanboy lol

  • Tokina 11-16 please~!!!!

  • which cam dit u use to film this?

  • @Ossy070 Probably a 5D Mk II with a 24-105 f/4 L

  • wow where u live its beautifull

  • From which country do u come ? It's nice =)

  • One more vote for reviewing the Tokina 11-16 for Canon!

  • Amazing lens. Not being able to put filters on it sucks, but that is really the only drawback. ALthough, there are special filters for it.

  • And not being able to put filters on is a clear drawback.

  • Aw man I would get this if I had the money, but my sigma 10-20 I really like, it is wider anyway so I'm ok.

  • Lol, Kai is such a fanboy :D

It is a great lens, but to say it doesn't distort is ridiculous.

  • canon 8-15 f4 :D

  • Sharp!

    Impressively so.

  • what BODY?

  • @shepr2k0

Kai is using a D700 for this review.

  • The best wide-angle zoom lens out there right now...there isn't better one...not from canon, not from other brands...its just stunning and amazing!!

  • get ur coordinator on screen please.....

  • no...the only way is Essex ;p

  • alamby is so cute. :')

  • Digital Rev: I love you, so much. And the overused stock sound effects from garage band adds to your charm.

  • Chinese Harry Potter...lollllllllllllllllllllll

  • @iFloridaAllStar trololololol

  • boring..

  • Frogger!

  • is it safe to wet the lens and the camera?

  • @jackryanlespaul there both nikon pro mate, so both weatherproof :)

  • you cant put a filter on it..

  • 6:23 Bali Myna

  • yyou should train alamby and let her review stuff to , or let her be the model XD or both!

  • i have been to the place with the birds!!!

  • nikon with canon strap.???? why not... hahaha

  • How about comparing samyang 8mm to canons expensive 8mm lens?

  • Kai, What's with the old mainlander snobbery?

  • You should review this with a Blackrapid R-strap.. it distributes the weight of the camera nicely and you don't have to hold the camera all day.. :)

  • sharpness of the tokina 11-16 f/2.8 poops on this lens. Sadly if I had to pick a lens based on how it looks i would totally get this one but otherwise get the tokina!

  • Comment removed

  • @corstijgers That is a DX lens you are talking about, 14mm in FX is wide enough.

  • i dun mean to be mean but 3:02 would really be a good test for the lens..haha..ok gonna take a hammer and hits myself for saying that.

  • @stewiek please hit in the head

  • Always on great locations.

  • i'm a canon user, but i still watch his reviews on nikon. THAT is the power of digitalRev!

  • I watched this because of Kai, sorry cute girl.

  • what sort of camera was lock filming with

  • @Newyork1969 i'm pretty sure it was the 5d mark ii... but if it ain't its gonna be the 7d

  • @Newyork1969 Canon 5D Mark II

  • The introduction of this lens is pretty useful because it goes with the 24-70 and 70-300, so you get a pretty wide zoom range from 14-300mm from these three lenses

  • how tall is Alamby??

  • nice ty

  • "scared the shit out of it" - like

  • You could have helped the little frog off the danger path!

  • I would love to work with/for you guys :]

  • good review!

  • I really like that you've added alamby to the team. The three of you have great chemistry :-)

  • "Don't waste time concussing lil' kids, shoot photos with it!" Truer words have almost never been spoken. ;-p

  • lok is a very good camera man

  • @ouoliver agreed, he has the eye!

  • Light bulb on steroids

  • I want it

  • Just got to do the battle of the UWA and add in the Tokina 11-16 f2.8!

  • @acearchie Bare in mind that the Tokina is only for crop sensored/DX cameras

  • @hewlettorama It does work at the 15mm/16mm end of the lens on full frame although it's not officially supported!

  • @acearchie two different lens mate, the 11-16 is ultra wide, they only overlap by 2mm, so one wont replace to other.

  • @Mikeint0sh This is the crop body equivalent. I was also referring to comparing the canon 17-40, the Nikon and the Tokina. From what I have heard the Tokina is the sharpest but it would be nice to see a comparison.

  • @acearchie i have the tokina 11-16 and its pin sharp all the way through

  • I think Kai and Alamby are wearing the same ring! =D

  • 14-24mm is a very good lense. I know it cause i have it and use it.

Separately, did anyone noticed that when Alamby took the camera her hand looked very DWARFED. ahaha

  • @1986Chaitanya I have a D3s and I'm going to buy a 5Dii soon for video. I use to own a 5DII and 1DIV before switching to Nikon. The 14-24 and the 5Dii are a good combo.

  • @RealStealthyNinja A friend of mine uses 5Dii for video he bought a couple of Nikon lenses for his setup. He is using the Nikon lenses with a Novoflex adapter. Though there is a small modification you will need to do remove the rubber gasket. Apart from that Nikon 14-24 is gem of a lens to use for videos.

  • I LOL at "The master Chinese Harry Potter, Expelliarmus!"

  • Are you telling us to lightenupandshoot with that lens? ;D

  • @5:22 Kai do coordinating like Alamby lol

  • Quit whining about the wait and use a NECK STRAP! : )))

  • @gfish66 did you mean the "weight"?

  • @nivlanauk Yeah. It was late and I was tired. Now I'M WHINING!!

  • Do a video on the most affordable yet useful lenses? This is just way out of the common consumer (and even the higher end consumers) price range.

  • about freaking time you did a review on this lens.

  • Kia has a new girlfriend. (The lens)

  • Test tokina 11-16 2.8!

  • @GansoMen

    this lens is FX

    the tokina is not

    its too cheap

  • @GansoMen I agree! This is by far one of the most recommended short range wide angle zooms for DX. I would love to see a comparison review here.

  • Wow, a review of a lens I actually have.

Kai, do some bicep curls with the lens. You'll get used to it. :)

  • Kai needs a BlackRapid. No kidding, that rig is heavy, I wouldn't want to carry my stuff that way either.

  • Please test some a Tokina lens, for example 12 24 f4

or better 11 16 2.8. These are the cheap lenses for DX/APS-C DSLR cameras for more people than FX / FF.

  • She will soon become Kai's gf!!!

  • damn, about time this lens is like 4 years old

  • @Tennishead39 yes please + plus one

  • This vs the Canon 16-35mm.

  • actually its missing one more label: VR

  • @vinh291 VR/IS isn't very prevalent on ultra-wide zooms yet.

  • @wthunleashed oh cool. thanks for the info

  • Do a review for the Canon 10-22mm pleease!

  • I never thought I would hear a asian with a british accent in my life . . .

  • DO THE TOKINA 11-16 !

  • @vipergts831 exactly

  • Lamby is sooooo HOTT

  • Please do a battle of APS-C Ultra WIde Angles!

This review has been LONG overdue!

    Canon 10-22

    Tokina 11-16

    Sigma 8-16

  • Love this lens. Amazing how little distortion there is when shooting location portraits.

  • Mr Kai... Can you do a review of the tokina 16-28mm or compare to the

    14-24mm please???

  • I love the mp5k reference. Two things you could shoot AMIRITE?

  • where can I get the photos ?

  • I have been waiting for you guys to review this lens! Finallyyyyyyyyy :D

  • NO VR!!

  • @Jolinator so?????????!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

  • @Jolinator i only mention it. because kai said it has every nikon label/feature under the sun , i borrowed this lense from a friend a while back, definatly an amazing peice of gear.

  • I am old, i also want to do the job like u do!xD

  • @mescalamba what? the 14-24 is weather sealed to the max. Check this: /watch?v=21bHzCcsH1c

  • Best wide-angle zoom lens currently. :) Btw. you can use filters, Cokin or Lee holders solve that. Altough front element is bit problem anyway, so just be careful. :) This lens is good reason to buy Nikon system, though it comes to really good use only with D3x which is tad bit expensive.

  • Get a hand grip!

  • great lens for FX and on DX!!

my fav lens@@ but please don't let the lens get wet

  • @bricheung724 It should survive bit of rain, but you are right.. unlike L lens, its not weather sealed. :(

  • VR... noo

  • Anybody wish for 17-55mm f2.8 vs 17-40mm f4 ?

  • Hong Kong Park!

  • please can you do a review on the Sigma 10-20mm please? with a 500D would be a bonus! Thank you!

  • the new one will weight 3 kg's

  • can you do water resistance tests on canon eos500d please?

  • hahahaha angry birds party.

  • Nice lens indeed, price prohibits me from getting it even though i have the other 2 trinity lenses, will probably go for the long teles instead, nice video (for wide ab

  • who is alamby?
