  • I can tell that you have listened to Brando do this... :\

I wish you would have put yourself into this more.

  • @ceesayssorry I really should take this down. It's a little embarrassing. My other Shakespeare readings (except the sonnett) are also too selfconscious. On the other hand, over 3000 people have witnessed my same already and few are likely to follow. Guess I'll leave it a while longer.

  • @Largo64 That's "my shame." ;^)

  • Epic text, but I don't like your read. Not to say I can do better - it's just that your attitude seems to be completely unfitting to the text.

Maybe I'm wrong though man - you definitely show definite skill, just not sure if it fits this particular soliloquy (its a soliloquy right?)

  • @Israelpwn It IS a soliloquy. I can't say I'm completely happy with it either, but Shakespeare is a lot harder to read than, say, Dr. Seuss. Perhaps you'd like my Hamlet better (probably not). I think I was not too bad on Sonnet 18 (the second time). Try my most recent video, Casey At The Bat. I think I pretty much nailed that one. ::Sigh!:: You just can't please everyone, though I keep trying. ;^)

  • I have to memorize this whole thing by Monday and so far, I'm using this video to help me, and it has alot thank you =)

  • Wow. I'm in the EXACT same position rnKSAPPrn.

  • Thank you. I am a freshman and I have to memorize this soliloquy and recite it in front of my class. This definitely helps me to know how to say it instead of rapping it lol. Thanks again!

  • yea it kinda sucked but i wuz the 1st in my class to say it

  • im a sophmore and i just had 2 memorize this and i thought it would be stupid but i kinda liked it

  • Ahh.. the cursed truth. To embrace freedom only then to be shot down by others who do not know of it...yet.I liked your 'mini' theatre piece..bravo!

  • Thanks, Sarah! That's one for and one against. I have a feeling Nick Gisburne's voice is a lot better, but I think mine is not horrible. It's nice to get a little encouragement to balance "meandering and faggish."

I'm sitting here giggling like an idiot over that one!

  • Meandering and faggish.

  • Okay, you don't like my reading. But faggish? You must be about 13. Middle school boys use terms like that.

  • Sometimes the language of schoolboys is just what's called for. Yes, meandering and faggish....I like it. It works here.

  • Are you a theatre critic, or do you just like putting people down? (I realize that comparison is redundant.) So I'm not Olivier. So what?

  • Thanks to all for kind words. I did some acting years ago, but it was mostly musical comedy. I never did Shakespeare, which I now see was too bad. I would have loved to do Tennessee Williams, too. I'm just about the right age now for "Big Daddy."

  • Excellent performance, Larry. Your diction is great, and your voice suits this piece perfectly. *Applause*

  • Thank you!

  • Wonderful rendition of a powerful speech. It wasn't until I read Bernard Cornwell's "The Archer's Tale" until I learned the grim meaning of the word "Havoc".

  • *applause*

  • Very well presented :D

  • See this is where William Shatner got it all wrong — he would've got to the "Havoc' bit and then completely run away with himself. You keep it tight Largo! ;8)

  • wow... Largo - that was great!

  • You have the perfect voice for this: BRAVO! Encore!

  • WOW!!!! You should do this more often!

  • You need to be out on the stage! Great declamation!

  • love it

  • Excellent :D

  • powerful!

  • FANTASTIC! I wish I could've SEEN you delivering these mighty words. DO IT AGAIN! LOL

OK, ya don't have to - your voice was awesomeness itself.

  • Insane. That was a compliment by the way.

  • You have to 'splain stuff like that to us old folks! (Hee hee!)

  • Very good narration. You should attach this to Gisbourne's latest- he just narrated Rime of the Ancient Mariner.

    Bravo! :)

  • Nice. How about "Song of Myself" by Walt Whitman? It might take more than one vid and become a project but I suspect you would do it more than justice.

  • Fantastic! I liked the ending. First time I ever heard you raise your voice!

  • A perfect reading! ★★★★★

    Katalyzt

  • That may be extravagant - but thanks!

  • So fantastically read!

    Vunderfull!

  • Largo, Largo, you are devine. HAVOC...I love when you yell that. Excellent. You should do this more often.

Why? because we ask it of you :)

  • Enjoyed

  • Oo this was great Larry! Love the Roman Empire. We had a history teacher in high school who had specialized in the Roman Empire so we got a deep dive into that part of history. Very fascinating and exciting it was.

  • I love the background - YOU DID IT ONCE AGAIN LARGO!!!

  • Taking requests?

"The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock"

Please, pretty please. Sugar on top.

  • Loved the reading

  • I wish you were reading some of my audio books, the people reading them are atrocious. You are much easier to listen to.

  • very nice do you do requests. The "To be or not to be" speech form Shakespeare's Hamlet is my favorite. It perfectly stakes out my main argument against religion.

  • great one largo
