I agree that the bugs and glitches are a real problem, but overall, it's a really good game for the Xbox. Definitely worth the $10 to get a used copy at Game Stop

About the family stuff. The only hunam unit on the battlefield is the commander. Not shure about the support ACU but everything else than the commander is just a vehicle with a primitive AI chip that is able to follow commands. So dont worry about sending your vehicles to death.

Total Annihilation and the Supreme Commander games are my most favorite RTS games of all time, I don't even want to think about how badly SC got screwed up for consoles. Gas Powered Games is just a small developer, even if it was possible to make SC playable on a console they just don't have the manpower to do it.

if you install the game to ur hard drive it runs perfectly 90% of the time me n my mates play it evry day my gamertag is GoDleY MoN 121. But the game is soooooo much better on the PC.
ok i saw some comments on a different supcom1 video. people were saying that the frame rate goes to shit. it does sometimes but not all. plus the guys filming the video probobly have fraps or whatever running wich makes there system run less effectively. so there lol
I don't agree with the hate on the Xbox 360 version of this game. I thought it was decent enough. Except for the save feature, that's defective and buggy and causes the game to crash 80% of the time you try to save it. But the deep gameplay and the excellent and very long single-player campaign makes up for it. Just give it a real try.
I think the xbox 360 version is still fun. Sure it has some framerate issues when lots of units are on screen, but its not so terrible to where you can't enjoy it. They probably were a little over ambitious porting a game of this scope and complexity to console, but it ain't half bad if you enjoy RTS games. You can still create massive armies and have fun plaing skirmishes against the AI.
srsly, SC is just a name that people pull out of their ass to sound as though they know about RTS games. SC is not the best RTS. it's an RTS for noobs.

I picked up a copy earlier on today, please note this is more complex than your average RTS, if you struggle with Command and Conquer games, then I'd advise Halo Wars for more simple elements, though if you would like a challenge and are familiar with the RTS genre I'd advise Supreme Commander, get it on the PC if you can, though considering I got this for only £5, I can't really complain n_n
This is A LOT better than Supreme Commander 2. I'm not sure, but I think it's Square-Enix' fault why the sequel sucks so much. Just stick to RPGs guys, leave RTS games alone.
If you're going to pick up this title, get it on the PC. They pretty much bent this game over and went to town like they do with any RTS on the 360. They shouldn't just named this Supreme Shitstorm, it is really that bad compared to the PC version.
I agree, I own the pc version and its glorious. When I seen Halo Wars for the 360 I noticed it sucked dramatically. Then when I heard Supcom was to be launched on the 360. There is where the disappointment set in. I already knew how fucked the game was going to be. Sadly the 360 version gives people a bad impression on what it can truly do.

Either way just slap in a cheap graphics card like the 5670 or gt430 or something and it will run this game fine. The expense involved with pc gaming is grossly over exaggerated. An average home pc (dual core, 2gb + ram) from the last few years will be capable of playing games with a graphics upgrade. (perhaps not on the highest settings but still much better than a console). that's how I got into pc's
I will not lie, this is a very CPU intensive game, right now I'm on a Core i7 920, on stock settings and normal battle scenes I get about 80-120 fps with all graphical options maxed out, but the REALLY EPIC battles drop my fps to a record low as 17 fps. - NO SHIT, even Crysis don't do that.
to maintain a relatively high playability I had to overclock my CPU to 4.2ghz, but shit, this game is about 2 years older then the technology on my hardware, performance hits aren't suppose to happen.

I played supreme commander quite a long time even before forged alliance came out and i have to say that it is really a extremely good game and hell of fun to play, so i think buying it will never get a bad idea... by the way: Controls are much easier on pc than on Xbox
Very good review. However, "the supreme burrito", your commander, is not redundant like he claims. In fact, it is the most important unit in the game. The reviewer is only reviewing the single player campaign, and even then not using his commander to its potential, but the real use of the commander is in multiplayer. To win you have to kill the opposing commander. There are hundreds of tactics for doing this, and for preventing it. This game is, as it says, supreme.
I love these reviews, they are great. I play PC games, but I like to see what you have to say about games. The "original" (being that Supreme Commander was considered a spiritual successor) called Total Annihilation originated the same way, with the whole commander scheme. Even though it was made in '97 it was considered the best RTS of all time. Up to 5000 units per team and online. Sup Com was much better on pc, especially with the zoom out feature it held, which made the game very smooth

i always make like 20 t1 engineers or less depending how i need to use them i have them reclaiming usually... then i have 6-8 t2 to make power and defenses quickly then a ton of t3 engineers to spam with resources. video: 2d!?!?!?!? thatd be really sucky it would make the game not worth playing anymore..... andddd little men in jeeps with families? their are no people in supreme commander except for you in the armored command unit.
i hate the whole nuke silo takes 83 real time mins to build i mean come on whos gonna wait and hour for it to build i understand if your under constant attack then you have something to do while it builds but im normaly just watching it and building an army kinda boring until u get fighting

Coming out soon. I they fixed most the slowdown issues it held. Remember though, it's a pc port to console, so even if it's offered on console, you can never know what to expect.
These RTS games are conceptually flawed. You should start off with a large army which is supplied by factories staffed and administrated by a city. The enemy should be quite distant. You can then either attack their forces with yours, or try to bomb their cities and factories so they have no replacement units or personnel to operate them. Nothing would be gained by occupying territory as in reality resources are too slow to mine, oil is too slow to drill, etc. This would yield a faster start.
dude its the future, homos are extinct, cats are ultimate rulers and somewhere in between, resources take on an new feel, in this game you use mass and energy. this is pretty realistic for a game based centuries from now
Online play is wear this game really shines. And the role of the commander can be as little as burrito, or if used effectively, can be upgraded to be a devestating offensive support, or front line offensive.

Sadly, RTS games don't usualy do very well on Consol systems like Xbox 360. SupCom was originaly released as a PC game and that is where the developers have continued to support it. Does the Forged Alliance expansion even exist on Xbox? Anyway, the PC online community is thriving, and finding other players to play with is easy. Get yourself the PC version, and I'd be happy to play with you there. A Supcom and FA Bundle will probably run you $60 bucks, i'm guessing.
a rts on the xbox 360 calles halo wars works perfect on the xbox though games such as supreme commander are indeed better on the pc since in halo wars you can contrell less units than in supreme commander

@Wedwickboy Emmm that's not necessarily true if he built it himself it is likely to be better. Either way just slap in a cheap graphics card like the 5670 or gt430 or something and it will run this game fine. The expense involved with pc gaming is grossly over exaggerated. An average home pc (dual core, 2gb + ram) from the last few years will be capable of playing games with a graphics upgrade. (perhaps not on the highest settings but still much better than a console). that's how I got into pc's

I will not lie, this is a very CPU intensive game, right now I'm on a Core i7 920, on stock settings and normal battle scenes I get about 80-120 fps with all graphical options maxed out, but the REALLY EPIC battles drop my fps to a record low as 17 fps. - NO SHIT, even Crysis don't do that.
to maintain a relatively high playability I had to overclock my CPU to 4.2ghz, but shit, this game is about 2 years older then the technology on my hardware, performance hits aren't suppose to happen.

@citizenhal Really? My 6 gigs of super-fast ram, Quad Core 3.4GHz Black Edition AMD Phenome II and ultra high end graphics card *still* suffers from pretty mean slowdown on the largest maps with 8 players close to their unit caps.
it's pretty much unavoidable.
oh, and the settings are maxed out. anti aliasing included.

Greatly anticipating this one! Fixed slowdown problems in supcom 2 for 360 and pc and I quote
Supcom 2 coders-"no more ai for dead tanks"
This game is almost what I would have done if I made an RTS.
Anybody know if supcom1 for 360 is playable?
Or is it simply "inferior to pc therefore lame"?

I played supreme commander quite a long time even before forged alliance came out and i have to say that it is really a extremely good game and hell of fun to play, so i think buying it will never get a bad idea... by the way: Controls are much easier on pc than on Xbox

Very good review. However, "the supreme burrito", your commander, is not redundant like he claims. In fact, it is the most important unit in the game. The reviewer is only reviewing the single player campaign, and even then not using his commander to its potential, but the real use of the commander is in multiplayer. To win you have to kill the opposing commander. There are hundreds of tactics for doing this, and for preventing it. This game is, as it says, supreme.

I love these reviews, they are great. I play PC games, but I like to see what you have to say about games. The "original" (being that Supreme Commander was considered a spiritual successor) called Total Annihilation originated the same way, with the whole commander scheme. Even though it was made in '97 it was considered the best RTS of all time. Up to 5000 units per team and online. Sup Com was much better on pc, especially with the zoom out feature it held, which made the game very smooth

The game was just as recognized, if not even more so recognized then Starcraft. Just because you haven't heard of it or played it doesn't mean it doesn't match up to Starcraft.

i always make like 20 t1 engineers or less depending how i need to use them i have them reclaiming usually... then i have 6-8 t2 to make power and defenses quickly then a ton of t3 engineers to spam with resources. video: 2d!?!?!?!? thatd be really sucky it would make the game not worth playing anymore..... andddd little men in jeeps with families? their are no people in supreme commander except for you in the armored command unit.

its not out yet, and i always wondered why the AI gets 50 engineers i normaly get 3 of each level and 3 support command units because i no more the merrier coz i played total annihaltion( SC1's baby brother)
but i dont see much difference in time i mean i built a 1min sub in the same amount of time with 2 engineers helping

Coming out soon. I they fixed most the slowdown issues it held. Remember though, it's a pc port to console, so even if it's offered on console, you can never know what to expect.

These RTS games are conceptually flawed. You should start off with a large army which is supplied by factories staffed and administrated by a city. The enemy should be quite distant. You can then either attack their forces with yours, or try to bomb their cities and factories so they have no replacement units or personnel to operate them. Nothing would be gained by occupying territory as in reality resources are too slow to mine, oil is too slow to drill, etc. This would yield a faster start.

Sadly, RTS games don't usualy do very well on Consol systems like Xbox 360. SupCom was originaly released as a PC game and that is where the developers have continued to support it. Does the Forged Alliance expansion even exist on Xbox? Anyway, the PC online community is thriving, and finding other players to play with is easy. Get yourself the PC version, and I'd be happy to play with you there. A Supcom and FA Bundle will probably run you $60 bucks, i'm guessing.
