  • He was better than Franco Harris

  • I love reading everyone's comments because it makes me happy so many people appreciate how special a back Chuck was. I agree....Hall of Fame induct #44!

  • At 1:27. Two of the greatest safety's othe era. Chuck schools them both.

  • Starting at 1:19 and then the play right after that. Two examples the wide range of his versatity. First Csonka, then Sayers.

  • what a boss.

  • In open-field ability, I'd put him in the top 5 RB who ever played the game. He could always make the first guy miss with that stutter step he had perfected. I was unaware that he's not in the HOF. I assumed he was.

  • @fayette202

When it comes to the act of making people miss, he's in the top 2 or 3.It was amazing to watch him run inbetween defenders ( and teamates ) Truthfully, the man had few equals. He WAS that good.

  • To think Gayle Sayers is in the HOF just because of that cheesy movie and Chuck Foreman is not? What a sham.

  • Foreman should be top 5 for most elusive RB ever. Plenty of folks don't understand what 'making someone miss" means. Marshall Falk?.... gimme a break. No comparison. Slashing runners are a different breed. Foreman's snakelike moves in traffic are unbelievable!

  • @EVWatson1

That's it right there man. Snaking among traffic. I've watched fooball for over 40 years, and no one did as spectacular, and as perfect. Maybe because he was so tall it made it more obvious. His greatest run, may be just a 4 yarder against the Steelrs on MNF. The amount of moves he excecutes in just 4yards , has to be seen to be believed.

  • @EVWatson1

Foreman was a one of a kind player. Before and since his playing days, who in the history of the NFL, reminds of Foreman??

  • PUT THE MAN IN THE HOF!

  • It is really too bad that Chuck Foreman is not in the Hall of Fame despite his accomplishments. He was lot like Roger Craig and had a running style comparable to that of Gale Sayers and Jim Brown combined.

  • Starting @ 1:06...I was there !!! Vikings came here, to my home town to play the Dolphins. The Orange bowl was pretty empty since the Dolphins were'nt too good that year and I got to sit right smack behind the Vikings bench. Just could'nt believe it !!.

The bitter taste of SB VIII was still with me. I witnessed the Vikings get revenge from a front row seat. Lovely !!

  • UNDER-RATED! YES, Better than Walter... Too bad half his yards were receiving.

  • Chuck was favorite ever for the 75 season. My favorite is there is a clip played to the the fifth of Beethoven where he takes the ball end zone to end zone and everyplayer on the defense touches him and couldn't bring him down. Have to love a clip like that....where is it?

  • nifty.

  • Can anyone imagine how many more yards/TD's Chuck would have had if had more breakaway speed? This guy was a treat to watch when he played in the 70's. No running back had sweeter moves than Chuck Foreman.

  • @Deucealive75

Your probably right, you do see him get caught from behind. But on the other hand, if he would have had that blazing speed he would have had to sacrifice those one of a kind moves.

    You really can't be a burner when your also a bruiser...@ 0:42, 1:06....1:19.

  • Love this video, great companion to the other one.

Just so many of his runs are ESPN highlight types !!

We all know about his "spin and turf rip" move, but check out what he does at about 0:12. He actually tunnels underneath Oilers # 57 and the other defender on the sidelines. I've never doubted was stood tall and above all the other. Truly, the greatest Viking of them all.

    Thanks for posting this.

  • that spin move was all flash, if he carried the ball away from his body like that today, it would be stripped in 2 seconds, as the guys today just strip and strip the ball.

  • But the plain truth is that on other highlight fims,Foreman was seen making spin moves around great defenders such as Too Tall Jones,Jack Gregory,Ted Hendricks, Phil Villipiano, and George Atkinson. At the end of this film,he was making moves on Ken Houston,Pat Fisher, and Jake Scott. There were many, many truly great defenders that he put spin moves on. In 1977,he spun around the Jerry Glanville's Gritz Blitz, and he was the only player that could against that defense the whole year.

  • Thanks for sharing this,I could watch this all day.Brings back some memories and most of these i remember anyway.Once you saw him run you just could not forget it.Earl Cambell once said that Foreman was his favorite rb because you did'nt know if he was gonna plow you over or skip and spin you out of your cleats.Old school!

  • couple of those runs remind me of "all day"
