They're not trying to. Ivan (after leaving t.A.T.y) made t.E.M.a and they got sucked into his sick games too. It's not their fault, their good girls with real talent but Ivan made them into a t.A.T.u replacement and even the music is the same, he's trying to rival and surpass his old creation.
@Itachiboii9898 For your information, Shapovalov didn't produce t.E.M.a. They were created by Maugly Jr. (rapper) . Ivan was friends with the t.E.M.a. girls, nothing more.
I once read (don't know if it's true) that Tema used to sing t.A.T.u.'s demos and stuff, before it was presented to the t.A.T.u. girls (something like a pre demo) and that's the reason why they got used to sing like that, just like them (if you pay attention you can even notice who is playing "Lena's voice" and who tries to sound like Yulia). However, I never found a t.A.T.u. demo sung by Tema, I mean, that had been later released by t.A.T.u.

one of the smarter comments just too bad their album is terrible, though their DEMO's they made after they were kicked out by their producer were fantastic like Radiastya! These girls really can produce good music their producer held them back I think, TATU had better music with IVAN but these girls can write good songs :)

I'm a total t.A.T.u fan and I can't help to see some similaritys, but also many difference. I don't think they are trying to copy anythink from t.A.T.u they are just two girls in a band singing about other things than just hair, makeup and boys. I think they are great but no one will ever be as great as t.A.T.u :)
