I am saddened that Doug's life has gone so far off track. I met him after his first CD came out. My momma loved his music and got his autograph at a local show. Unfortunately, Doug just lost his biggest fan a few days ago. Wish someone would post "Daddy's Girl" by him, she always said it reminded her of her as a girl. Goodbye, momma and Good luck Doug.
When I first got ahold of a tape of his, with this on it, I fell in lovewith it. Ironically and quite sadly, around the same time this song came out my cousin also died in a drunk driving accident.
I remember the spring of '94 when this song came out. I couldn't listen to it enough then...i still feel the same way. One of my favorite songs ever. Unfortunately, radio felt this song was too "controversial", thus it never got the radio airplay that it should have. There was also a cool video for this song. Thanks for posting and sharing this great song.
That song brings me back to our family drive. Memories of the best years of my life. The sonjg may not be a great get up and booky song nice slow dance and to remember where you come from, To my mother and brother Rose and Jim love you will not forget you
I wrote a second version to this song singing about my Bro and mom who I lost on a Highway long ago. Still miss them as it was yesterday

So many things in the compsosition and honesty of this song. Sad and haunting. True country...life, loss and reflection.

Talented guy. Too bad Doug isn't still recording music and that his life is so screwed up now. He was the real deal.
