  • Are there any pdf's to accompany these lessons. Certainly a huge amount of info here but how many years wouldit take to learn the fretboard and voices like this? john

  • In cases of "chords" made of only two notes (so called "power chords" etc.) the missing note(s) will often be implied by the over-all harmonic context.

It often helps to get your nose out of the theory books and experience making real music with other musicians and HEAR what happens.

  • I wish those two guys below were not wasting the whole comment page by arguing like children, but other than that great video

  • great lesson

  • yea dumbass the difference between 2 different tones are intervals not chords.

  • No one's taught this info the same way as you. Great!! Thank you!

  • Terrific lesson , thank you so much Howard.

GRUNTFUCKLE .......stay off these pages , they`re for people with intelligence.

  • @bjl257 dude this is kindergarten shit sure the concept goes way further but this guy has a great way of making it sound boring and lame, yes he appears to be relatively good with his theory (even though he does make some fuck ups) yes this is boring, a 2 minuet concept over 10 minuets, im better than this twat and i better than you

  • @gruntfuckle Wow, really? CAn I subscribe to your lessons?

  • @cm0220ster a true magician never reveals his secrets

  • @gruntfuckle Ur stupid !!! I bet you any freaking thing u want, that you can't out play me. 2 minute concept,do u realize what all is involved in developing a triad? I want u to explain the theory behind a major or minor chord and how its acomplished. And im not talking about u just saying 1,3,5. i want u to tell me the step for writting an A major chord out on paper and the theory of how this is done.

  • @valkour22 are you serious?... fine, a triad is generally 3 of the 4 notes from any given arpeggio generally closed voicing aren't appropriate for comping thus guitars tend to lead towards drop 2,3,4,2&3 and 3&4 voicings to convert to a triad you just hit only 3 of the 4 notes at once

  • @gruntfuckle to answer your dumb fuck question, to make an A chord ( just so you know you don't need to write the word 'major' after the 'A', its already implied, its like saying atm machine dickhead) you simply play any A,C# and a E at the same time, if your talking about intervalic structure or notation then i cant be fucked explaining it, your not worthy of my knowledge.

  • @gruntfuckle p.s if you think triads are hardcore then wait till your dealing with harmonizations of altered extensions in relevance to things like the Byzantine scales or Algerian scales or other ethic concepts, you'll shit yourself......and just so you know your a fucking idiot

  • @gruntfuckle ur a dumbass all u did was name the notes? You dont have a freaking clue!!!!!!! I was going to tell u how but now i see how pitiful u are. You dont have a clue about theory! YOUR A JOKE!

  • @gruntfuckle thats dead wrong. question was what is the process for writting out an A major or A minor by theory. And a triad is always 3 notes, a chord is 3 or 4 notes.

  • @valkour22 dude i have a double degree in music and audio production and your a fucking idiot a triad can have twenty notes in it if it wants eg. a(1) c#(1) e(1) a(2) c#(2) e(2) ect... there you go fag a 6 note triad!, so shut the fuck up(you probably have no idea what im talking about ) also a chord only requires 2 or more notes to be a chord, and can DEFINABLY can have more than 4 notes. what i said earlier is dead on it, your just a fucking dumb ass.

  • @gruntfuckle ur a dumb ass dude ,no way u have any kind of degree in music cause ur dead wrong!!!! A triad has three notes. There are no chords with just 2 notes!!!!!! And you still havent told me the process for writting a chord out. YOU DO NOT HAVE ANY DEGREE IN MUSIC!!!!!! I should know im finishing my degree. You said what this man was teaching was kindergarden, but u cant explain how a single chord is determined by theory. Dude ur stupid when it comes to music!!!!!!

  • @valkour22 dude your wrong , self satisfaction will have to suffice this time , you can lead a whore to culture but i cant make you think( ever heard of A5??...fucking idiot)

  • @gruntfuckle LOL

  • @gruntfuckle i WANT U TO GOOGLE ARE POWER CHORDS REALLY CHORDS!!! AND U WILL FREAKING SEE THEY ARE NOT. 2 NOTES POWER CHORDS ARE REALLY POWER INTERVALS BECAUSE THEY CONTAIN 2 NOTES!! AND U MUST OF MISSED THIS IN SCHOOL ,2 NOTES ARE INVERALS, THUS ,THEY DO NOT CONTAIN A MAJOR OR MINOR 3 INTERVAL, A CHORD NEEDS THAT 3RD INTERVAL TO MAKE IT A MAJOR OR MINOR CHORD!!!!!!! ITS NOT POSSIBLE TO HAVE A CHORD THATS MADE OF 2 NOTES!!! THATS STRAIGHT OUT OF THE THEORY BOOK !!!!!!! NOW TROLL SOMEWHERE ELSE!

  • @valkour22 yes but you can imply a chord without playing all notes. this is how jazz musicians make a living.

  • @schapedo That guy just got on my nerves, sry.

  • @valkour22 its the amount of separate tones not notes that counts, your a dick head, writing in capitals doest make you come across more offensive or more elevated it just shows you have poor control over words and i'm sure your guitar also, the internet is not a gospel word of truth, you typing anything proves that........dickhead

  • im so gretful for this upload :D thank you howard !

  • super duper homosexual

  • @gruntfuckle And I'm sure you're an incredible musician too. Do you have an iota of what Howard is teaching? Do you know what iota means? Go get a job, kiddo.

  • you are fair lame

  • great lesson thanks!

  • What a great teacher as well as musician.

  • Howard,

That was fabulous. So well explained. Thanks very much for a great lesson.

Gotta watch more of your stuff.

    5^

    SB

  • Very hard for me to understand!

  • in order to understand things like this you have to have a good grasp for chord construction and know your formulas.

  • yeah to me too, and you know why? because we are missing the previous lessons ;)

  • first!
